It’s a sign.

I was walking on my way to get my haircut this afternoon, and I couldn’t help but notice the Bay Horse Cafe sign has returned above Main Street…

And on the inside, it looked like they had made a lot of progress and were getting really close to opening up. Taken with Instagram. 😀🐴🍺

We have our tickets!

We’ve already received our tickets in the mail for a couple of upcoming FC Cincinnati matches are going to be huge. HUGE! First up is the massive Fith Round US Open Cup match at Nippert Stadium against the Chicago Fire of MLS…

Good morning from Northside.

Good morning from Northside. 😀

Slow down and grill.

We fired up the grill again this evening…

We made some chicken breasts, bacon & cheddar stuffed burgers from Clifton Market and cheddar hotdogs…

It was a beautiful night in our backyard for grilling…

Those bacon & cheddar stuffed burgers from Clifton Market are out of this world…

And then we took Oscar on his evening walk to work off some of our delicious dinner…

It was the perfect Tuesday night at home. 😀🐔🍔🌭🏡🌳❤️

Two years ago today…

Two years ago today, we went and looked at wedding rings for the very first time…

Setting in motion the smartest thing I’ve ever done in my life: asking Genifer to marry me. Thanks for remembering, Timehop! Taken with Instagram. 😀💍❤️

Stopping in Clifton.

On the way home, I got off the bus in Clifton’s Gaslight District to pick up a few things. I’ve been having the strangest, really odd craving for some old skool Sunny D lately. I wonder if Clifton Market has any Sunny D?

After picking up a few groceries including Sunny D, I walked right next door and ordered us some delicious take-out for dinner from China Kitchen…

It’s super convenient that all these great places are right on the 17 bus line home. It’s so easy to get a transfer, hop off the bus, pick up some great stuff and then get right back the next bus! I love it. 😀🚌🍊🍜

Deskey+Elementz.

We are working on a visual identity for a client that is all about the community of Cincinnati. We are partnering with Elementz, Cincinnati’s Hip Hop youth center. It’s essentially an urban arts center where inner city kids can gather and create anything from hip-hop to street dance, spoken word poetry to street art, photography and visual arts. We’re teaming up with four Elementz students for inspirational design to ensure our identity is representative of the community. The students were asked to use their creative platform of choice to develop a concept that represents their community.

This afternoon we got to meet with the students and tour Elementz…

Those are some very super talented kids. And Elementz space is pretty amazing. It’ll be great to work with this group and see what we can come up with together. 😀

Sunday Funday.

We watched the Mexico versus Portugal Confederations Cup match this morning. And then we headed down to Second Place to watch Chile take on Cameron. On our way to Second Place, we noticed a sign on the door of our beloved Django Western Taco

Django is moving in next to Tickle Pickle on Hamilton Avenue, and that’s just a hop, skip and a jump from us. Chef Josh broke the news to us a few weeks ago when we were in for Sunday Brunch that they were moving up Hamilton. It’s so cool to have one of our most favorite restaurants move even closer to our house…

Now if we could just get Second Place to move closer as well. Their featured slush today was a cayenne pina colada, which mixed surprisingly well with the bourbon slush…

It tasted like being on vacation. And made for a pretty fun Sunday. 😀🏖️🌮

UPDATE: Django’s old space at the corner of Hamilton and Ble Rock is now empty…

Happy Father’s Day.

Happy Father’s Day, dads! Thank you for all you’ve done for us and continue to do!
We love you so much! 🙂
