Strauss Troy Market on the Square.

I was out running a few errands around downtown this afternoon, and I couldn’t help but notice that the Tuesday Strauss Troy Market has returned to Fountain Square…

And that means great food, sweet treats, fresh produce and handmade items each and every Tuesday at lunchtime from 11-2pm…

I can’t wait to start digging into some Eli’s BBQ and Revolution Rotisserie. 🙂

What an amazing night.

In case you missed it, FC Cincinnati President & General Manager Jeff Berding sent out a thank you email after FC|C’s 4-0 home opener win over St. Louis

It was such an amazing night! One of the best nights of FC Cincinnati at Nippert Stadium for sure. I love this team and how our city has embraced them. And how this team reciprocates that love back to the city. It’s something very special. 🙂

Habañero Burrito Monday!

On my way home, I stopped at Habañero in Clifton to pick up some burritos for dinner because it was another Habañero $5 Burrito Monday

It had been a minute since we last had $5 Habañero Burrito Monday. It sure is good stuff. Taken with Instagram. 🥙 🙂

Reds baseball game #3.

We got up and moving this morning because we had tickets to this afternoon’s Reds baseball game. Easter Sunday baseball church! And it was our third Red’s game of the season so far. We got down to Great American Ball Park a little early so we could try to find our Reds All-Star Legacy brick again. We looked and looked and looked for it last season but didn’t have any luck finding it. Today, we asked someone in the Reds Hall of Fame if they could help us track it down and they led us right to them. There five trees just to the Ohio River side of the Main Gate at Crosley Terrace. Each tree represents one of the five All-Star games Cincinnati has hosted in its illustrious past. We found our brick in the 1953 All-Star game grouping…

Pretty cool stuff! Thanks again to JJVE for getting us our Reds All-Star Legacy brick!

We were so excited to find our brick that I completely forget to take my usual photo of the outside of GABP before we headed in…

We had tickets up in the Cincinnati Bell Fioptics District again. But the ballpark was really empty so we decided to start the game in a virtually empty section of seats down the third base line…

We were sharing our section with this bird and that was pretty much it…

Sal Romano was making his first MLB start against the Brewers today…

Arismendy Alcantara has one of the greatest names of all times…

Arismendy Alcantara used to play for the Cubs. I loved when the Reds would play the Cubs just so I could say his name. And now he plays for the Reds! Hopefully, he starts getting more playing time soon.

While we were still sitting in the down the third place line, one of the Brewers hit a line drive foul ball that ricocheted off some seats, bounced off the nacho concession stand behind us, landed a few rows behind us and rolled under the seats and Genifer reached over to pick it up in the row behind us. And after 200+ Reds games, we finally have our first foul ball…

The live Sunday Reds mascot race…

And this one belongs to Mr. Redlegs…

I’ll always remember the seats where we got our very first foul ball at GABP. Section 109, row KK seats 19 and 20…

After that, we headed upstairs to the Cincinnati Bell Fioptics District…

On our way upstairs, we tried the new Cheetos popcorn…

It was really good stuff! Cheesy popcorn mixed with Cheetos….

The Reds got 10 strikeouts this afternoon. So close to more free pizza but yet so far…

And the Reds dropped this game to the Brew Crew 4-2…

It was a perfect afternoon for baseball. And about a half hour after we got home from the game, it started pouring and rained for the rest of the day. That’s what I call pretty perfect timing. I’m glad they were able to get the game in before the storm rolled in. 🙂

Happy Easter.

HAPPY EASTER! We hope everyone had a wonderful Easter Sunday. 🐰🐥

FC Cincinnati’s 2017 Home Opener.

IT’S FC CINCINNATI MATCH DAY ONE! Today was the home opener of FC Cincinnati’s 2017 USL season

FC Cincinnati started their season with three matches on the road. Out of those three matches, they picked up three points for a win but unfortunately picked up two losses. This evening FC|C looked to right the ship as they played host to first-place St. Louis FC. St. Louis had given up five goals in their first four matches of the season. On paper, it looked like a very tough matchup. But first things first, check out this sweet FC Cincy MG we saw on our way into Nippert…

Okay, onto Nippert…

The Bailey started to unfurl their tifo for today’s match…

We couldn’t quite make out what the bottom part said…

But the power stack was smoking and that was a really nice touch…

HERE WE GO…

In the 35th minute, Djiby Fall scored the first goal of the year at Nippert Stadium

Two minutes of time added on…

Just seconds before halftime, Djiby netted his second in the 45th+2 minute…

And at halftime, it was 2-0 FC Cincinnati…

SPRINKLES!

And in the 47th minute, Djiby completed his hat-trick…

St. Louis FC’s coach was all bent out of shape and all riled up about something and had to be restrained by the fourth official…

FC Cincy’s coach, Alan Kock didn’t take kindly to whatever was said and had to be held back as well…

Djiby, the man of the hour…

He wasn’t done, as he netted his fourth! DJIBY! Have yourself a game, young man!

23, 144! Not only was today’s attendance a new USL home opener record, it was also the 10 largest North American soccer attendance of the weekend

And it was over 10,000 more people than the Columbus Crew drew for their Saturday MLS match against Toronto FC up the road at Mapfre Stadium up in Columbus.

All eye were on the man in the middle for the full-time whistle…

AND THERE IT IS, FULL-TIME! 4-0 FC CINCINNATI

WOW! Now that’s how you do a home opener. What an incredible match! Just a little bit of perspective… last season, Sean Okoli was only FC Cincy player with multiple goal games. He scored a brace (2), three times. Djiby Fall had 4 this evening! And he’s now reigning USL player of the week and the leading scorer in all of USL. FC Cincy’s next match is this Wednesday, April 19th as they welcome the Tampa Bay Rowdies to Nippert Stadium. See you there! 🙂

Constructing Cincinnati.

I’m not sure what’s moving into 8 East Fourth Street. But the building’s facade is getting some pretty serious renovation…

And the garage at Fourth and Race is now completely gone…

There’s always something new going up or coming down in downtown Cincinnati. 🙂

Reds baseball game #2.

Tonight, we went down to Great American Ball Park to celebrate Genifer’s birthday at our second Reds baseball game of the season

We had tickets in the Cincinnati Bell Fioptics District

GABP welcomed Bronson Arroyo back to the mound for the first time since 2014 after he had Tommy John surgery. And it was Bronson’s first start for the Reds after he elected to test the free agency market and left for the D-Backs back in 2013…

Bronson Arroyo was always one of our favorite Reds pitchers

How does he still get his leg that high?

BARGE!

Despite the Reds being in first place, there weren’t many people at tonight’s game…

Unfortunately, the Reds lost 1-5 to the Brewers.

It was just a beautiful night for a baseball game. And win or lose, the Reds games are always so much fun. It’s just amazing to be back at the ballpark. It’s my happy place. 🙂

Happy birthday, Genifer!

Today is my beautiful wife’s birthday! Happy birthday to the love of my life, Genifer!

With every step we take together, I love you more than I did before. You are my best friend, heart and soul and the love of my life. I love you so very much. And I hope you have a very wonderful, special day. ❤🎂 💕 🙂
