An unexpected change of plans.

I went to have x-rays of my hip this morning after yesterday morning’s mishap

After looking at the x-rays of my left hip, my doctor showed me how the poly liner in my new hip had somehow, inexplicably shifted out of position in the cup that holds it in place against my pelvic bone…

The friction that I was feeling in my hip was the stem head rubbing against the now out-of-position poly liner. Long story short, I have to undergo a total left hip revision surgery tomorrow at 3pm. It’s not the full total hip replacement surgery like before. From what I understand, they are just going to go in to replace the damaged poly liner and stem head. I’ll be staying overnight again but then afterward I should hopefully, be good to go once again. Fingers crossed. 😐🏥🤞❤️

That’s not good.

This morning as I was putting on my shoes and socks on the little red sofa in our office as we were getting ready for work. As I was getting up from the sofa, my newly replaced left hip moved in a very uncomfortable way like it popped out of socket just for a second and then returned to its original position. It didn’t really hurt. It just felt very, very  uncomfortable. When I stood up afterwards, my hip didn’t feel right. There was a kind of sickening sensation like a friction or rubbing feeling from inside my hip that wasn’t there before. And it started making very odd, unsettling creaking noise whenever I moved…

It’s funny how everything can be fine one second and then something as simple as putting on your shoes can really mess up your whole day. 😐🏥❤️

Good morning from Northside.

Three years ago…

Tonight was the MLB All-Star Game. With every All-Star Game, I’ll always think back to all the fun we had with the festivities that led up to the MLB All-Star Game three years ago when Cincinnati hosted the mid-summer classic…

Thanks for all the wonderful memories, Timehop.  😀⚾️⭐️🦕❤

Good evening from Northside.

Pause for paws.

Oscar decided to stop and take a little break on our walk this evening…

Don’t mind me. I’m just enjoying the view and this little patch of shade. 😀🐾❤️

Two years ago…

Two years ago tonight, we went to watch our fledgeling new boys, FC Cincinnati play their very first international friendly against Premier League mainstay, Crystal Palace FC right in our backyard at Nippert Stadium…

There were so many highlights from that inaugural season of FC Cincinnati soccer. But the friendly against Crystal Palace at Nippert Stadium was definitely one of the top highlights of the inaugural season for me. Thanks again for reminding us of all the wonderful memories, Timehop.  😀⚽️🦕❤

NYPD Pizza Sunday.

After the World Cup final, we came home and ordered some delicious NYPD Pizza. We really love our NYPD Pizzas.

Now that was a final.

We made our way over to Higher Gravity this morning to watch the 2018 World Cup final between France and Croatia. We were pulling for France, they were our pre-tournament pick to lift the World Cup but mostly we just wanted to see a really terrific final match regardless of who actually won. We were surprised with how much Higher Gravity really filled in as the match was about to begin…

And boy was it ever a good match! The perfect end to a truly incredible tournament. The match ended 4-2 to France. SIX goals in a World Cup final, are you kidding me? Most of the World Cup finals are so conservative, defensive and boring. No one wants to make a mistake. This match was 90 minutes of end-to-end excitement. I didn’t want it to ever end. But all good thing have to come to an end… VIVA LA FRANCE!

And I finally got to get a photo with Jason from Higher Gravity’s Doggie the Dog

I’ve been following Doggie on Instagram since right after Higher Gravity opened about a year ago. But what an amazing month of soccer and an outstanding World Cup! It was one of the better ones in recent memory…

We’re already starting the four-year countdown to the next incredible World Cup. The next one will be in Qatar. And we can’t wait for more World Cup excitement.

😀⚽️🏆❤️

FC Cincinnati versus Tampa Bay Rowdies.

IT’S FC CINCINNATI MATCH DAY NINE! We missed the last home match against Ottawa Fury a couple of Saturday’s ago because it was the day after my second hip surgery. And I wasn’t going much of anywhere. We just watched the match on TV. FC|C beat Ottawa 2-0 on goals by Danni König and Nazmi Albadawi. We also missed post-match FC|C fireworks. Bummer. And Emmanuel Ledesma was named USL Player of the Month for June. Tonight, FC Cincinnati was playing host to Tampa Bay Rowdies. They’ve never beaten the Rowdies.  I was still a little bit sore but I was moving pretty well so we decided to give the match a try tonight…

HERE WE GO…

At halftime, it was still knotted 0-0. And that meant it was time for… SPRINKLES!

And the second half is underway…

GOAL! FC CINCINNATI! In the 54th minute, Emmanuel Ledesma gave FC|C a 1-0 lead!

GOAL!! FC CINCINNATI! Danni König doubled FC Cincinnati’s lead to 2-0 in the 85th minute to tack on an insurance goal late on!

It wasn’t announced at the match but tonight’s attendance was 25,416. The match would end 2-0 to FC Cincinnati. And for the first time FC|C defeated Tampa Bay!

With the win, FC Cincinnati remains on top of the USL Eastern Conference! 😀⚽️❤️
