Mixwell’s.

This evening we stopped into a new bar that just opened on Thursday in Northside called Mixwell’s. Actually, they’ve been open for a while but just recently moved from Hamilton Avenue by Northside Tavern down to the old Barrio space next to the arcade and across the street from Second Place/Littlefield…

Mixwell’s is actually more of a discotheque than just bar. I hope they figure out a way to utilize the incredible back patio space…

It’s kind of crazy to have a dance club in Northside. There aren’t very many dance clubs left in Cincinnati that I can think of off the top of my head. It’s not really our scene exactly. But I could see us stopping in for a drink every now and then. 😀🕺❤️

The Embassy is open.

When we were in Jamaica, we would see this sand sculpture that said, “The Embassy is open.” We saw it for the first few days we were at the resort…

We were walking around Northside and we walked past this little table set up on the sidewalk. The first thing that popped in my head was The Embassy is open…

You never know what you’ll see walking around Northside. 😀❤️

Pumpkin patch pop-up.

When we were out walking the dogs this morning, we saw that the stop sign at the end of our street had a precarious lean to it like someone tried to push it over…

I put in a service request to have it repaired on the FixItCincy app. So hopefully, it’ll get fixed soon. When we got to the top of the hill at the end of our street, there was a pop-up pumpkin patch in front of the Montessori school…

and of course, Mack had to sniff each and every pumpkin…

It’s a sign.

They’ve just made the right lane on Main Street downtown a Bus Only lane during the morning and evening rush hours. Here’s the brand new Bus Only sign at the stop where I wait for the Metro 17 bus on Main Street between Eighth and Ninth Streets…

Officials said about 635 Metro buses travel on Main Street between Fifth and Central each weekday. Of those, 90 use the far-right lane to pick up passengers at stops along Main during afternoon rush hour from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.

This lane is the first of its kind in Cincinnati.

It’s nice to see the buses getting some preferential treatment for a change. 😀🚌❤️

Thursday nights.

We usually try to stop somewhere on our way home from work on Thursday evenings for a happy hour drink or a bit to eat since Genifer doesn’t have to work on Fridays. More often than not that place is Higher Gravity. They almost always have something fun happening on Thursday and tonight was no exception. Tonight, they tapped a keg of Banana Coconut Dragons Milk Reserve from New Holland Brewing…

It was a pretty incredible beer. So much banana and coconut but not too much. It was just the perfect amount of banana and coconut that paired really well with rich dark chocolate. It was so dang good. Before we headed home, we had a couple of slices of pizza from Chameleon…

They have some really great slices. It was another pretty great Thursday night. And we were home and had the dogs walked before the Thursday night football game came on. That’s a good start to the almost weekend. 😀🍺🍕❤️
