Grey counter volcano.

Not to make light of what’s happening in New Zealand but this paper-mache volcano has been sitting on a counter at Grey Midwest

I really want to watch this volcano explode. But I don’t want to bust up someone’s fifth-grade science project but also I don’t want to clean up the mess. πŸ˜€πŸŒ‹β€οΈ

Constructing Cincinnati.

When I was on the Metro17 bus coming home, I managed to grab a pretty blurry snap of the building at the corner of Main and Eighth Streets. It has windows and siding on the front facade now…

I wonder what the apartments will look like on the inside. I heard somewhere that the building won’t be offering any on-site parking. And that’s kinda odd to me. πŸ˜€πŸš§β€οΈ

Dixie Terminal.

After I posted photos of various Christmas trees around downtown someone told me that Dixie Terminal had a Christmas tree as well. So I stopped to check it out this evening on my way to catch the bus…

And there it is. It’s a pretty one too…

Dixie Terminal is one of the true gems of downtown Cincinnati. πŸ˜€πŸŽ„πŸ¬β€οΈ

Window washers are brave.

The window washers are back. This time on the building across Plum Street…

Ugh. As I’ve said before, I do not do well with heights. And I’d be terrified that this would happen. No thank you.Β πŸ˜¬β¬†οΈβ€οΈ

302 Festive fun.

This afternoon I got to celebrate the holidays at 302 with festive fun!Β  The company that manages 302 West 3rd Street hosted a lunch catered by Out of Thyme

There were Chicken Cordon Bleu sammiches (roasted chicken breast, applewood smoked bacon, swiss cheese, horseradish mustard on side), salad and broccoli cheddar soup…

The little sammiches were really good and broccoli cheddar soup is my favorite. And there’s nothing I love more than free lunch. πŸ˜€πŸ₯ͺ❀️

Downtown details.

It was a really pretty afternoon in downtown Cincinnati. It was a little bit windy but the temperature was pretty nice for the beginning of December. So I ran out to get something to eat this afternoon. I walked over to The Banks. Along the way, I stopped to admire The Skystar Wheel with the Roebling Suspension Bridge in the background…

It’s become a permanent addition to The Banks. We still need to go ride on it. I bet the views are pretty spectacular. I ended up getting this sammich from Burgerfi

It was okay. I also stopped to admire the Rose Lavelle mural on West Freedom Way…

And when I was leaving work, Paul Bown Stadium was all lit up for some reason…

I love all the unique sights in downtown Cincinnati. πŸ˜€β€οΈ

Another lost shoe.

I saw another lost shoe this afternoon just outside of the office…

I really don’t understand how someone can lose their shoe. But my guess would be that it fell out of a bag or something. But I still don’t understand. πŸ€”πŸ‘ β€οΈ

It looks a lot like Christmas.

When I got to work this morning, the lobby of 302 West Third was beautifully decorated for the holidays…

Later, I ran out to get something for lunch and stopped to admire the tree in the atrium at the Westin Hotel across from Fountain Square…

And the tree in Carew Tower…

I was walking in what was left of downtown Cincinnati’s Skywalk and noticed that the escalators in Carew Tower that were always broken had been replaced with stairs…

And the Hyatt Regency had a pretty tree too…

On my way to the bus after work, I stopped to admire the holiday window display at Bromwell’s on Fourth Street…

It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas in downtown Cincinnati. πŸ˜€πŸŽ„πŸŽ…β€οΈ

Part of a building collapsed.

Early this afternoon on Fourth Street the sixth floor of a building under construction suffered a partial collapse

The part that collapsed is right at the base of the tower crane…

Unfortunately, reports said that multiple people were injured in the collapse. Cincinnati Police said one person has died, and Cincinnati Fire & EMS were still searching for at least two more victims. It’s really sad and pretty scary stuff.

The structural integrity of the rest of the building was being assessed. The bottom of the building was slated to be a new parking garage with an apartment community situated atop of the garage. I don’t know if I would feel comfortable living in a building where a section of one of the floors collapsed. But that’s just me. 😬🚧❀️

On a more upbeat Constructing Cincinnati note, a new Asian fusion restaurant has opened at the corner of Seventh and Walnut Streets called e+o

Progress continues on the building across the street from where I used to work

No thank you.

There were guys washing the windows of 302 West 3rd Street today. I don’t think there’s any way I could be a window washer

I wouldn’t want to be dangling off the side of a building all day…

Ugh. I do not do well with heights. No thank you. πŸ˜¬β¬†οΈβ€οΈ
