FC Cincinnati versus Charlotte Independence.

IT’S FC CINCINNATI MATCH DAY SEVEN! This evening FC Cincinnati was taking on Charlotte Independence in the battle for the Queen City Cup. Coming into today’s match up at Nippert Stadium, Charlotte Independence was sitting in near the bottom of the USL’s Eastern Conference in 12th place and our FC|C was residing in 7th place. It seemed like it would be a great place to pick up a much needed three points and start to climb up the table a bit…

We stopped at Mac’s Pizza Pub again before the match. When I went to the restroom,
I came back to find this photo on my phone…

Silly head. We headed over to Nippert…

Sam the Cincinnati’s Zoo’s Bald Eagle made an appearance at today’s match…

And we’re underway…

It was a beautiful evening for soccer…

Charlotte Independence was on the board first courtesy of a near post screamer…

And just the before half, FC|C’s former Arsenal defender, Justin Hoyte levelled the score at 1-1 with a beauty of a goal

And that was the score at the break…

SPRINKLES!!!

SOOOO EXCITED FOR THIS WEDNESDAY…

But first, FC Cincinnati still had some work to do here today…

Here we go…

21,115

DJIBY! Back from suspension was about to enter the match…

Three minutes of time added on…

But no one could break the deadlock, and the match ended 1-1

Not surprisingly, Justin Hoyte was the Man of the Match…

WEDNESDAY!

After the match, there were postgame fireworks set to the music of Bunbury…

Eagerly awaiting the start of the fireworks…

At the start of the fireworks, I sat my Polaroid Cube on the wall next to us. This is the video I captured of the FC Cincinnati fireworks…

It was a pretty spectacular fireworks display. And speaking of fireworks, there are going to even more fireworks happening at Nippert Stadium this coming week as our FC Cincinnati welcomes an MLS squad into Nippert for the very first time. As mentioned, they will host the Columbus Crew on Wednesday in the fourth round of the 2017 US Open Cup. And then Saturday, FC|C hosts the USL Eastern Conference first-place side, Charleston Battery at Nippert as well. Talk about a couple of really big matches!
We’ll see you there!

Summer Hours: Django Western Taco.

Deskey lets us work just a half-day every other Friday throughout the summer. They
call them Summer Hours. And they’re pretty flippin’ awesome. Today was my first Summer Hours Friday. We didn’t plan ahead very well, and couldn’t come up with anything fun to do. So when I got home, I worked on organizing the office for a bit while I watched the France versus Sweden World Cup qualifier. Olivier Giroud had an amazing goal for France. As for the office, it still has quite a ways to go but at least I know where more stuff is now. I’ll keep plugging away at working on it…

While I was organizing, I found two $25 gift cards that I apparently misplaced. I also found a gift certificate that still had a balance to Django Western Taco. And there’s no better time than the present to redeem that gift certificate for some delicious Django Western Taco goodness

Genifer ordered a carne asada taco and she loves Django’s salsa…

Django’s special today was corn on the cob with chipotle aioli and shredded cheese…

And of course, I ordered their amazing chicken biscuit…

It’s one of my favorite dishes around. Just look at that delicious mess…

Django also had a watermelon beer from Lost Coast on tap that was out of this world! I’m really happy we couldn’t come up with something to do earlier. Next Summer Hours, I think we’re going to go check out Island Frydays in Corryville. 🙂

Taken with Instagram.

It was a really pretty evening…

And we had spaghetti and garlic bread for dinner…

I love spaghetti and garlic bread! Taken with Instagram. 😀🍝❤️

56,000!

I picked up my 56,000th check-in on Swarm this morning…

What can I say? Sometimes it’s the little things. I still love my Swarm! 🙂

Downtown details.

There were some really dark and threatening looking clouds hanging over downtown Cincinnati. It looked like it was right on the verge of pouring down rain at any second all day today. But thankfully somehow, it didn’t rain a drop all day. 😀☁️

Have yourself a game, Scooter Gennett!

Scooter Gennett had four home runs including a grand slam, 10 RBIs and 17 total bases in tonight’s game against the Cardinals. Have yourself a game, Scooter Gennett!
He became the first Red to ever hit 4 HRs in one game, and just the 17th player in MLB history. WOW! 😀🙃👊💪💯⚾️❤️

Good evening from Northside.

Good evening from Northside. 🙂

Slow down and grill.

I stopped at Clifton Market again on the way home this evening…

I picked up a few odds & ends supplies, some stuff to grill tonight and one of these delicious sounding orange chocolate chip muffins…

There is nothing better than stuff straight off the grill. 😀🍔🌭❤️

Strauss Troy Market.

I keep forgetting about the Strauss Troy Market on Tuesdays at Fountain Square

I’ll have to try to remember to check it out for lunch next Tuesday. 🙂

To remember.

Our chief sanity officer sent this out this morning, and I thought it was very powerful…

Today marks the anniversary of D-Day (June 6, 1944). Starting in 1993, Charles
Schulz ran this comic to commemorate the beginning of the liberation of Western
Europe during WWII. Schulz died in 2000, but newspapers that still run “Peanuts”
still run this comic.
