The Alleys of Northside.

In between the main streets in Northside are a bunch of little alleys. I’m guessing they are used or were used so people could get to their garages or driveways behind their homes. But they seem to be in quite the state of disrepair. They are wonderful to look down but still kind of creepy enough to not wander too far down…

Someday when I don’t have anything else to do, I would love to ride my bike around Northside and photography all these little alleys and turn it into a book, The Alleys of Northside. It would also be really interesting to photograph them in different seasons and different times of the day. That would be interesting… to me. I find all these little alleys fascinating. I bet you there are all sorts of visual treasures down there. 😀📷❤️

Goodnight moon.

Good evening from Northside.

When we were walking the dogs tonight, all the lights were off in the parking lots at the school up on top of the hill. It gave the end of the street a very creepy feel…

Good evening from Northside. 😀🌄❤️

Northside Sunday.

This afternoon, we stopped at Melt for a late Brunch…

Afterwards, we stopped by Urban Artifact

Urban Artifact’s Bewilderfest was Friday and Saturday. We wanted to see what was left on tap from their big celebration. Last year, they had a bunch of crazy beers…

We ordered a flight plus one…

And then we shared The Tumi and Lemon Fennel Salad

Urban Artifact made three barrel-aged variant bombers for their Bewilderfest: Beipiaosurus Boysenberry Sour, Dimetrodon Raspberry Sour and Stegosaurus Montmorency Cherry Sour

We didn’t try them. I bet they were all delicious but they were a little on the pricey side.  However, they had stickers of all the different dinosaurs from the labels, and they gave us an entire set of them for free…

And after I took the photo of my new dinosaurs stickers…

It was another fun Sunday in Northside. 😀🍺🦖❤️

Northside Saturday.

This afternoon we walked down to Blue Jay for lunch…

We tried their cheese coneys and chili cheese sammiches and they were awesome!

After lunch, we were headed off to the grand opening of favorite coffee shop, Sidewinder’s brand new coffee roastery…

But first, we stopped in Shake It Records…

Seriously, we need to get a record player…

They had so many good records that I would have bought today if we had a record player. Walking down Hamilton Avenue right next to Hoffner Park, it looks like a new smoothie and juice bar is going in…

We made it all the way down Spring Grove to Sidewinder’s new coffee roastery…

Their new coffee roaster…

There was some serious roasting going on in here…

Original artworks by very talented artist and Sidewinder barista, Amy Poliner…

They’re going to need some more coffee beans…

We had a coffee drink and hung out for a little while and learned about the process of roasting coffee beans. It’s a lot more complicated than I thought it would be…

From there we stopped at Second Place to have a bourbon slushie and kill a little bit of time while we waited for our friend’s backyard birthday party to start…

W estayed at the backyard birthday party until it got too dark to see anymore in the backyard. And then we headed home. It was a really fun day in Northside. 😀❤️

Tag! You’re it.

Northside Saturday.

After the fog this morning lifted, it turned out to be a pretty nice day. It wasn’t all that particularly warm but the sun was out and that made for a nice change of pace. We walked over to Boswell’s

We had a hankering for cheeseburgers and Bos bites…

Afterwards, we stopped into Urban Artifact for a beer…

My sister, Shannon sent us a $25 Giftly gift card to use at Urban Artifact. We definitely put it to good use and ordered a couple of UA’s special tap, Blueberry Parfait

Urban Artifact had a mailbox and postcards on their bar celebrating their new tart IPA called Postcard

Keep your eye on your mailbox for a postcard from us thanks to Urban Artifact. It was another really fun day just hanging out in our neighborhood. It’s so nice to be able to walk places again! 😀🍔🐔🍻❤️

Seen and noted.

The giant stained glass window of Northside’s NorthChurch is really gorgeous…

We stopped at Sidewinder for our Friday morning coffee this morning…

I ordered my usual Turtle and the barista drew a little turtle on my cup…

And walking home this evening, I stopped to look down a very pretty Hobart Avenue…

Northside nubs.

There were a bunch of people out sledding on the hill at the end of our street…

We need to get some sleds for the next time it snows because it looked like a bunch of fun. Later, we went down to Higher Gravity to watch the Eagles take on the Falcons. And then we got just home in time to watch the Patriots thump the Titans. It was a pretty low-key day but another pretty fun Saturday in Northside. 😀🛷🏈🍺❤️
