It’s what’s for dinner.

Genifer made a really big pot of chili for dinner tonight…

And she made cornbread too…

There’s nothing better on a chilly evening than a big bowl of chili! 😀🍲❤️

Good evening from Northside.

With daylight savings time and all, it gets dark so early now….

It’s already dark by the time I get off the bus to walk home. 😀🚌🌃❤️

My personal best… shattered.

I shattered my old record high for points from my check-ins last week on Swarm by more than 400 points!

I still really like my check-ins on Swarm! 😀⭐️❤️

A Tavola Madeira.

After we were all squared away at the Apple Store, we met our friends Cory and Amy and their twins at A Tavola in Madeira for lunch…

Surprisingly, we’ve never been to either of the A Tavola locations before today…

We thought it would be bigger inside but it’s very small and cute and intimate and it smelled really amazing in there…

Genifer tried the Fretboard Jazz, and I had the Rhinegeist Penguin which looked like a lager but had all the taste of a really great stout…

They had a bunch of really great sounding pizzas. But after much back and forth, we decided to share the Gorgonzola pizza with tomato sauce, gorgonzola, mozzarella, house made sausage, pepperoni and cracked pepper…

It was a terrific pizza! Next time, we find ourselves in Madeira we’ll definitely stop in for another one of their delicious pies! 😀🍕❤️

It’s like a whole new computer.

Last Tuesday, I was updating the operating system on my MacBook from Sierra to High Sierra. The computer went to restart but never powered back on. I tried every keyboard command and trick I could find online. I chatted with Apple support and we couldn’t get it to reboot so this afternoon I brought it to the sea of humanity that is the Apple Store at Kenwood Towne Center to see if they could get me back up and running…

Thankful, they got my computer to power on again. They replaced the battery in my MacBook, and now it’s like a whole brand new computer again! 😀🍏💻🔋❤️

Seen and noted.

Yesterday on our way back home from West Chester, we stopped at Circle K to get some gas. We saw these chile & lime puffed wheat snacks that I have never heard of before…

And there was this clever floor sign…

Next time, we’re trying some of those snacks. This afternoon we stopped at Home Goods. We saw these adorable little polar bears…

And we saw this seven-foot-tall giant polar bear…

It can be ours for just $999. What would you do with that guy and more importantly, where would you store him for the other 11-months of the year? 😀🇲🇽🐉🐻❤️

NYPD x GO BLUE!

We shared a little pizza from NYPD to celebrate Michigan’s win over Maryland…

It might be the last win they get this season. gulp. 😀🍕〽️❤️

Lunch in West Chester.

This afternoon we drove out to West Chester to see Genifer’s mom’s new house. It’s super nice and really big with a big yard and all very West Chester. I didn’t take any photos because I’m really super weird about taking photos of other people’s stuff and posting it online. It’s not my thing. I just don’t do it. After we hung out at Geri’s new house for a bit, got the grand tour and the lay of the land, we all went to Dingle House in West Chester for lunch where I had this monster of a bacon burger…

The last time I talked to my parents, they were telling me about their post-Halloween All Stouts Day adventures at Bell’s Eccentric Cafe in Kalamazoo. And specifically, they were telling me about Bell’s Arabicadabra Coffee Milk Stout. And look what I found at Dingle House…

Unfortunately, it wasn’t actually on tap. Even though we were told a couple of times that the draught beer was completely current and just updated that morning. And that’s a bummer. But we’ll be out there to visit a lot of more. So we’ll keep checking back.

Personally, I think the vast suburbia that is West Chester gets a bad wrap. On our way to Geri’s house, we passed a bunch of places I wouldn’t mind checking out in the future trips out to the ‘burbs. And I could see the draw of living there. Big home, big yard, white picket fence, two-car garage and all that. It’s not for everyone. We like our more urban, walkable little neighborhood. But different strokes for different folks. And I look forward to our trips out West Chester to visit. 😀🏡🍔🍺❤️

Happy Veteran’s Day!

Thank you to all the brave men & women who protect and serve our great country.

I learned at work yesterday that Veteran’s Day was originally known as “Armistice Day” in its inception in 1919 by President Wilson after World War I. In 1958, President Eisenhower changed the name to ”Veteran’s Day” and declared it would also be a three-day weekend. This confused calendar makers every year, so finally they finally settled on November 11 as a day to honor those the brave men and women who have served in our armed forces. #USA #Murica 😀🇺🇸❤️

TGIF.

I met Genifer at Hofner Park after work…

We were planning to eat dinner at Bistro Grace with the gift card Shannon gave us all the way back last Christmas. But when we got there, we both decided we weren’t hungry enough to do dinner at Bistro Grace justice. So we scrapped that idea for now and just had a couple beers at Higher Gravity instead. And while we were there, we stumbled across this beer…

It tastes just like you’re drinking a Cinnabon. Pretty tasty stuff. 😀🍺❤️
