Mackerel sky & Snoopy cookies.

There were some very pretty clouds this morning…

They created a very low ceiling over Northside…

Good morning from Northside…

I need to learn more about clouds. It would be neat to be able to say, “check out these mackerel sky altocumulus clouds we had over Cincinnati this morning.” I don’t want to be a weather person but meterology is pretty neat.

I put out the trash and recycling this evening and there was the moon…

Good evening from Northside…

We had broiler sammiches for dinner tonight. Mine was Cajun turkey and cheddar on Hawaiian bread…

And Genifer made more Snoopy cookies

Good night moon…

I had to work on my work projects this evening for meeting tomorrow. And the was the only part of today that was kind of a bummer. πŸ˜€β˜οΈπŸ₯ͺπŸͺπŸŒ™β€οΈ

Two years ago.

Two years ago, I got this “Rocket Drone ZF7 With Folding” to review…

I was so excited to try it out. There’s a big open soccer field behind the school on top of hill at the end of our street. I started flying it and…

With it still hovering in place, I started to record video of my drone’s maiden flight. I touched the left joysticks and the drone started to drift away from me. Frantically, I started moving both joysticks to try to pilot the drone back in my direction. But the controls went completely unresponsive as the drone drifted towards tall trees just on the far side of the soccer goal in the photo above. I started to run after it hoping that if I got closer to it maybe I could regain some control of the drone. But I couldn’t get close enough in time and I watched it hit the top of one of the trees and drop to the floor of Parker Woods on the other side of a ten-foot chain-linked fence…

And it’s still out there somewhere…

Maybe someday I’ll try a different drone. Maybe one from DJI. But probably not any time soon.

Thanks for the memories, Timehop. πŸ˜πŸ¦•β€οΈ

Tuesdays can be hard too.

The sky was so pretty this morning…

Good morning from Northside…

We had to run an late errand late this morning, and while we were out the sky started looking very threatening…

But it never rained, thankfully. We picked up Wendy’s for lunch on the way home. After we finished lunch, it was just work, work, work for the rest of the afternoon.

And finally, it was good evening from Northside…

All these photos this evening were taken just before to seven o’clock…

We were pretty tired this evening. I think we were both asleep shortly after nine o’clock. Ugh, Tuesdays. Amiright? πŸ˜€πŸŒ„β˜οΈβ€οΈ

One year ago.

One year ago today, Genifer picked up her new Audi Q3…

We’ve driven her Q3 all around town, out to the Outer Banks… (twice!), over to Indianapolis and up to Michigan. We’ve put just over 11,000 miles on it in the first yeat. It’s been a wonderful vehicle that’s fun to drive and easy to maintain.
She picked a good one!

Thanks for the memories, Timehop. πŸ˜€πŸ¦•1⃣❀️

It’s nice to be home.

Our first day back home and of course, it was a cold and rainy morning…

Welcome back to Ohio and good morning from Northside…

We ran over to the grocery because we didn’t have any food in our house…

It’s the middle of November and there were Christmas display all over the store. I chose to ignore all that nonsense. I could ignore this giant lion…

Kroger had the panda bear and the train back on the shelf again today…

I forgot to look at the balloons. I bet there were some great Thanskgiving balloons. Hopefully, I’ll remember to look if we go to the grocery store next weekend.

After the grocery, we stopped at Mad Llama for Sunday morning coffee…

One of my favorite sayings is, Comparison is the thief of joy. On our way home, we had a discussion about which was better: the Espresso Shake from Sunset Ice Cream in Duck OR the Caramel Java Whip from Mad Llama. They are both really good. I think I like the Java Whip from Mad Llama better because it’s soft serve, coffee AND caramel, which is a good thing because we can get to Mad Llama a lot easier than we can get to Sunset Ice Cream. But why compare? Why not just enjoy both?

We have some leaves to rake in our backyard…

But it was so rainy this morning that we’re not going to be able to rake them today. The leaves were so wet. That’s fine because we just wanted to be lazy today. And the sky still looked pretty ominous…

I think Mack was really happy to be back home again…

Later, we took the dog’s around the block and the sky was so pretty…

And good evening from our backyard…

I took all the photos this evening with my little DJI Osmo Pocket. And they turned out really nice, even in low light. The contrast was much better than my mobile’s camera. I think I need to find a different Android camera app to try. However, the DJI Osmo Pocket struggled with these night clouds that we saw from our backyard…

It was really nice to be back home. We pretty much laid around all day and watched football. I worked on my photos and videos a bit. We did laundry and got ready to get back to work tomorrow. Later, we finally finished The Queen’s Gambit on Netflix. For a show about chess, it was really very good.

It’s fun to go place but it’s also nice to be back home. πŸ˜€πŸŒ„πŸ¦β˜•οΈπŸ“Ίβ™ŸοΈβ€οΈ

Today, my reviews on Google Maps went over 350,000 views…

Back at the beginning of September, my reviews on Google Maps had just over 300,000 views. It’s all a pretty big accomplishment, if you ask me. And it’s pretty neat. It’s nice to still be popular. It’s been tough with all the COVID-19 but I keep working hard on my Google Maps contributions. Thanks for giving me another way to share my photos… and experiences, Google! #LetsGuide πŸ˜€πŸ—ΊοΈπŸ“·β€οΈ

Good evening from Northside.

We saw this great sidewalk chalk art on top of the hill at the end of our street…

After looking at this photo, I think we were looking at it upside down.

Good evening from Northside…

It’s fun to visit new places and go on trips but it’s also nice to be home. πŸ˜€πŸŒ„πŸΎβ€οΈ

And we’re back!

We’re home from our week out in the Outer Banks. We stayed in the little town of Duck again. We really like it out there in the Outer Banks, and Duck in particular…

The house we stayed in was so nice…

It was just a short walk from the house down the street to the beach…

We woke up to watch the sunrise every morning…

Then we’d drive to get coffees from Duck Cottage…

We’d sit on the patio on and drink our coffee…

We’d walk down and sit on the beach…

We’d go find something amazing to eat for lunch…

Then we were back on the patio or we’d hang out inside and watch TV…

And we’d watch the sunset…

There were so many stars at night…

It was so wonderful and relaxing and low-key. And we got to repeat that routine all pretty much week. There were a few variations. One morning, we got breakfast from Treehouse Coffee. We drove up to Corolla one afternoon to see the Currituck Lighthouse and Whalebone House. We got some espresso milkshakes from Sunset Ice Cream. The weather was really beautiful all week. It only rained on our last day but that gave us the perfect opportunity to check out some of the local gift shops. And we found some great treasure and souvenirs.

It was a really wonderful week. And now we feel ready for what looks like a very long, cold COVID-19 winter. πŸ˜€πŸŒ…πŸ—ΊοΈπŸ¦†β€οΈ

Click to see all of our photos from our trip and a handful of little videos too.

After these messages…

We’ll be right back. We’re heading back out to Duck, North Carolina in the Outer Banks. We love it out there and we had such a fun time in August that we wanted to go sit on the beach again before we lock ourselves inside our house for the winter.

Follow along on our Flickr, our YouTube and maybe our our Instagrams if we can get back into it. But I wouldn’t hold your breath. πŸ˜€πŸ—ΊοΈβ€οΈ

Good morning from Northside.

Good morning from Northside…

We’re swapping our normal morning view for a beach view next week. And we’re pretty excited about it. πŸ˜€πŸŒ„β€οΈ
