Sam Adams Taproom + Mexi-Q.

On our way home tonight, we stopped at the Sam Adams taproomΒ for happy hour…

And we noticed that the Mexi-Q Mexican BBQ food truck was out on Sam Adams patio tonight. We’ve never tried anything from Mexi-Q food truck before. Mexican meets BBQ? I had a feeling that this was going to be awesome…

Genifer ordered a Veggie Burrito Bowl…

And I ordered the Spicy Mexican Mac…

It was really good! You can’t beat delicious food stuffs from a food truck that you’ve never had the chance to try before. Especially when it’s Mexican and BBQ, two of my very favorite food groups. πŸ˜€πŸΊπŸŒ―β€οΈ

Covington’s Flying Axes.

This afternoon the creative team at Grey Midwest had an outing to go try our hand at some axe throwing over at Flying Axes in Covington

It was a bit daunting at first with axe in hand staring down the bullseye…

But once you figured out the motion and the distance, it was really a lot of fun...

I even managed to splinter my axe…

Who knew that axe throwing would be such a really good time? I think it would be pretty fun to get a group together to join the axe throwing league night…

Please exit through the gift shop…

Afterward, we walked over for a drink at Braxton

And then I caught an Uber home. It was a really fun evening, and I got to know some of my new coworkers a little bit better.Β πŸ˜€πŸ§ΏπŸΊβ€οΈ

Whip burgers and 62,000 miles!

Our 2008 VW Jetta GLI about to hit 62,000 miles on the odometer this evening…

We stopped at Queen City RadioΒ for happy hour on the way home…

We shared a delicious whip burger and fries…

We also got one of their cheese coneys too…

I really like their cheese coneys. But I love their Whip Burgers. And on our way home, we hit 62,000 miles…

It was a pretty nice reward for getting back to work today. πŸ˜€πŸ”πŸŸπŸŒπŸš—β€οΈ

Queen City Radio.

I met Genifer at Queen City Radio this evening so we could celebrate Friday. πŸ˜€πŸΊβ€οΈ

3 Points Pop Up Power Hour.

We saw that today 3 Points Urban Brewery was doing another Pop Up Power Hour

3-Points has some really good beers…

And we got to order some more delicious CHX…

And boom! Minutes later, we had lotsa food…

I ordered another 4-piece banty with hush puppies…

Genifer got their mac&cheese…

We also had a bag of wavy fries and a bag of extra hush puppies. I love hush puppies. And we love when 3 Points does their Pop-Up Power Hours. Great beers at cheap prices and some of the most incredible chicken with hush puppies? Dang. What’s not to love about that? πŸ˜€πŸΊπŸ”πŸ€«πŸΆβ€οΈ

Sam Adams Taproom.

It was gorgeous this evening. We wanted to go sit out on a patio and have a beer.Β  So on the way home, we stopped at Sam Adams Taproom on Central Parkway…

We shared one of Sam Adams delicious giant pretzels…

Big Dogg’s BBQ was parked out on Sam Adams patio…

We also shared one of Big Dogg’s Pulled Pork Parfaits…

Awesome. What an incredible way to enjoy this beautiful evening. πŸ˜€πŸΊπŸ₯¨β€οΈ

Celebration!

After work, we stopped by Queen City Radio to celebrate my new job offer…

Celebrating a new job tastes a lot like Whip burgers…

I’ll be accepting the offer tomorrow morning. Thank you to my beautiful wife for helping me think this through. After talking about it, it turned out to be one of the least difficult decisions I’ve had to make. I’m very excited about this opportunity. πŸ˜€πŸ‘πŸΊπŸ”πŸŸβ€οΈ

Northside nubs.

This evening we stopped to check out a new place with our friends Terry and Katherine called Northside Country Club. Not to be confused with Northside Yacht Club, Northside Country Club is in the old Bistro Grace space on Hamilton Avenue. Apparently, it’s some sort of stop-gap to keep the liquor license with the building…

NSCC is cash-only. But there is an ATM on site. Ohmigosh… THEIR TOTS. Their tots are just amazing. The ranch dipping sauce for the tots is really good. And the aioli is even better. We also had their ham&cheese, thinking it would be a grilled cheese with ham. It was cold ham and a slice of cheese on toast. It was good but just not what we were expecting. We also ordered the BLT which was really good. Our friend Terry had the Chicago dog and that looked really good too. Next time we go to NSCC, we’ll be ordering BLTs and tots for days. And I’ll remember to take photos. But still, really great stuff…

Then we walked down to Higher Gravity. The sunset was pretty amazing…

At Higher Gravity, they were celebrating our friend Jen‘s 5000th unique beer check-in on Untappd. That is a lot of unique beers. Between me and Genifer, we have just over 300 combined. And 300 is nowhere near 5000. Not even in the same zip code…

Congratulations, Jen! That is quite the achievement. It was another really fun evening in Northside. πŸ˜€πŸΊβ€οΈ

Queen City Radio.

We love Queen City Radio. It’s quickly become one of our favorite OtR spots with their amazing Whip burgers, $3 High Life’s and $2 jello shots. It’s become our normal Thursday night place to stop after work. πŸ˜€πŸΊπŸ”πŸŸπŸ“»β€οΈ

Woodburn + Che empanadas.

This evening I rode the Metro 11 bus from downtown to East Walnut Hills…

I met Genifer at Woodburn Brewery for a beer and some Che empanadas

I really like Woodburn’s beers and Che’s empanadas. I like them a lot. πŸ˜€πŸšŒπŸΊπŸ₯Ÿβ€οΈ
