BrewDog Cincinnati.

After getting in some morning holiday shopping, this afternoon we headed downtown to Over-the-Rhine’s next-door neighbor, Pendleton to check out the brand new BrewDog Cincinnati taproom

In April 2007, in a godforsaken industrial estate in northeast Scotland, BrewDog came howling into the world. BrewDog has two breweries. The original is in Aberdeen, Scotland and the other is in Columbus, Ohio. The Cincinnati taproom just opened…

Two hours south of our American HQ we opened an 8,500 sq ft beer mecca. With 24 taps of craft beer glory, a mezzanine chock full of games, and a beer school space for everything beer geekery, BrewDog Cincinnati is THE place to experience craft beer in The Queen City.

We’ve tried a few of the BrewDog beers before here and there. BrewDog was a guest at the HIgher Gravity Meet the Brewer on two different occasions

The inside is huuuuge…

We started with a Choco-Libre and a Jet Black Heart

The Choco Libre is a Mexican-spiced hot chocolate infused imperial stout. And Jet Black Heart is a 4.7% milk stout, loaded with oatmeal. Both beers were really outstanding!

We shared their $6 Tuesday burger special…

Terrific burger. I don’t know how someone could take down one of these monsters without any help. And the fries were great too. After finishing, we also tried one of their beer slushies (it was kinda weird), and an outstanding Renegade chocolate and peanut butter buckeye white stout…

And Genifer bought me one share of stock in BrewDog

Now we get 5% off our tab and a whole bunch of other cool benefits. Before we left, I went up to take a peek at BrewDog’s upstairs game area…

BrewDog Beer School…

It’s such an awesome space…

I have a feeling we’ll be coming back to BrewDog a lot. After all, we own part of the bar! 😀🍺🐶🍔🍟❤️

Ohio Maker Mart at UA.

This afternoon we walked over across Northside to Urban Artifact

We had one of Urban Artifact’s Epicurean Cranberry Jalapeno Jam

And it was as delicious as it sounds. By the way, Wild Fire Pizza Kitchen is serving brunch now and it also sounds really delicious…

This weekend UA was hosting the Ohio Explored Ohio Maker Mart shop again

After walking through the bottom, we walked upstairs…

There was some really great stuff…

After wandering around for a bit, we walked to Boswell’s Alley to get some Bos Bites…

And a Super Grill…

It’s so simple but it’s one of my favorites. It was another fun Northside Sunday. 😀🍺❤️

Wiedemann’s Fine Beer.

On the way home, we stopped at Wiedemann’s Fine Beer in St. Bernard. We parked in the lot behind the brewery…

It was kind like coming over to a friends house but sneaking in through the side door…

It was such an interesting space. It’s so much different than most brewery taprooms that are just big warehouse spaces. This space had so much history. And they had some beers on tap that sounded really delicious…

And the beers were delicious. We tried their Pumpkin Spice Belgian Blond, Holiday Oatmeal Raisin Winter Warmer, German Chocolate Cake Imperial Stout and Wake Me Up Hazelnut Coffee Milk Stout. Even their Wiedie Light was really good…

Their menu looked really good too. We shared some squeaky cheese curds that were awesome. We were going to share something else but we were full from all the cheese. Next time. And there will definitely be a next time. And a time after that. 😀🍺❤️

HIghGrain Brewery.

I had a few vacation days left that I needed to use by the end of the year. So I took today off work. We ran some errands, and stopped to check out the relatively new HighGrain Brewery in Silverton just north of Pleasant Ridge…

The interior was pretty stark. We just bellied up to the bar…

We tried their Imperial Stout and Maple Brown Ale

Their Maple Brown Ale was really good. And the stout wasn’t bad. We looked at their menu but nothing really jumped out at us. And we left after we finished our beer. It’s always fun to try new places. Just some are better than others. 😀🍺❤️

March First Brewing.

To celebrate Genifer’s new purchase, we headed out to find March First Brewing out in Sycamore Township. March First is Cincinnati’s only brewery, cidery and distillery…

March First’s Taplist. We love it when breweries are on Untappd

We started with a flight of beers with their craft lager on the far end…

Then we did a flight of their ciders. We really should have done ciders then beers…

We each got a full beer. Genifer had the Barrel Aged Maple Red Ale and I had just their Craft American Lager. We also shared some really delicious cheesy bread…

March First is such a great place. We could easily see it becoming one of our favorite Cincinnati breweries. We can’t wait to get back to March First really soon. 😀🍺🍕❤️

Sonder Brewing.

After The Great Pumpkin Run 5k, we stopped at the relatively new Sonder Brewing in Deerfield township out in the suburbia that is Mason…

Their beers are really good. My favorite was the Pina Colada Frosted Milkshake IPA

Also inside of Sonder is Brewriver Scratch Kitchen

Genifer had the grilled cheeses…

I had the crispy chicken sammich…

And we shared the brownie sundae…

Sonder was really fun. It’s yet another really good Cincinnati brewery! 😀🍺❤️

A Westside Saturday.

We were over on the Westside of Cincinnati this afternoon. And we stopped at Cancun Mexican Grill for lunch. Genifer had been wanting a quesadilla for a while now. We’ve eaten at the Cancun at Western Bowl. But we’ve never eaten at this Cancun location at Glenway Crossings before…

It’s surprisingly big on the inside…

Genifer ordered her quesadilla…

I got a ground beef Chimichanga. It’s hidden under all that sour cream…

See? There it is…

At the end of the day, it didn’t really hit the spot. Genifer didn’t really care for her quesadilla and my Chimi just tasted like sour cream. Bummer. On our way back home, we decided to stop and finally check out West Side Brewing

It was a surprisingly big place as well…

We stopped to try their Pumpkin Spice Infusion

It was their amber ale run through a contraption to infuse the beer with vanilla and some sort of “pumpkin spice mix.” It was pretty good.

All and all, everything was just okay. But that’s why you try new things. Sometimes they’re awesome and sometimes they’re just okay. That’s how you know. 😐🇲🇽🌮🎃🍺❤️

Dogberry Brewing Company.

After the Liberty Fall Festival, we managed to find Dogberry Brewing Company out in West Chester…

We were drawn in by their Supernova and it’s variants that we saw on Untappd

And they have a Beer It Forward wall, which I think is just the coolest thing…

We tried Dogbeery’s Campfire Story Mildly Smoked Porter, Supernova Chocolate Stout, Supernova Vanilla Nitroand Supernova Raspberry Habanero

And then we each had a full Supernova, Genifer had the Raspberry Habanero and I had the Vanilla Nitro…

Dogberry has some pretty darn good beers. 😀🐶🍓🍺❤️

Northside Sunday.

This afternoon, we walked down to Bridges Nepali Cuisine on Hamilton Avenue. We’ve been wanting to try Bridges for a while but we just never got around to it…

We ordered a rice bowl with half chicken tikka marsala and half veggie mix and a veggie samsoa to share…

And it was all delicious! Everything had such incredible flavors. And when our momos arrived, we realized that we had just ordered way too much food. The momos were amazing little pockets of awesome deliciousness…

After stuffing ourselves full of delicious Bridges, we walked down to Higher Gravity to have a beer and watch a little bit of the Reds game…

It was a pretty delicious and relaxing Sunday. But the Reds lost to the Cubs 6-3.
😀🌉🍺⚾️❤️

Grainworks Brewing Company.

This afternoon we drove all the way out to the suburbs of West Chester to check out Grainworks Brewing Company. It’s kind of tucked away in a little industrial park right by Voice of America Park

Genifer had Grainworks My Blue Heaven blueberry fruited beer and I had the Black & Blue, which is their oatmeal stout mixed with the My Blue Heaven…

Both beers were really good…

There is so much really good beer in Cincinnati. And Grainworks is no exception. It’s another awesome Cincinnati brewery. 🙁⚙️🍺❤️

UPDATE: When I was looking for Grainworks beers in Untappd, I noticed that they have a Peanut Butter Milk Stout on tap. So we might need to make another trip out to West Chester very soon.
