Looking up the shaft.

They’re working on the elevator at work this morning…

Have you ever looked up a six-floor elevator shaft before?

Yeah. Me either. Looks like I’m going to be taking the stairs today. It’s a good thing my hips are feeling so much better now. Taken with Instagram. ๐Ÿ˜€โฌ†๏ธ๐Ÿ†™โค๏ธ

Queen City Exchange.

After work this evening, we stopped by Queen City Exchange on Court Street…

Queen City Exchangeย is Cincinnati’s first and only stock exchange-themed bar, featuring a whopping 41 beers on tap with prices that rise and fall depending on demand. From QCE’s website…

Located between Cincinnati’s Central Business District and Over the Rhine, QCE offers a drink concept unique to the city with craft beer offered anywhere from $3.50 to $9 solely dependent upon customer demand.

It’s such a fun concept. We always go to Kalamazoo Beer Exchange whenever we visit my parents up in Michigan, and it’s always a really good time. In fact, it’s probably one of our very favorite bars. We went in hoping QCE would bring a bit of the same KBE vibe to our backyard in downtown Cincinnati…

And they have a popcorn maker…

We love it when places have popcorn. It’s a really great space…

Time to get down to business…

QCE had a lot of great beers on tap. And they are a verified venue on Untappd!ย I think that’s great because I can always easily see what QCE has on tap via the Untappd app as well as receive updated on new beers they tap and any upcoming events. We had a couple of beers, a couple helpings of popcorn, and had a lot of fun watching the prices fluctuate while we tried to plan our next beer. We had a great time.ย  We’ll definitely be back very soon. And hopefully, next time we’re in the Queen City Exchange beer market will crash!

It’s so foggy downtown.

It was very foggy today in downtown Cincinnati. Taken with Instagram. ๐Ÿ˜€๐Ÿ™๏ธโ˜๏ธโค๏ธ

More Christmas carnage.

We saw more Christmas carnage on our walk this morning…

Poor Christmas tree.๐Ÿ˜ฆ

It’s what’s for dinner.

For Christmas, we received a panini maker/sandwich maker. This evening we decided to try it out with some delicious BLTs…

The panini maker did a very nice job…

But then again, it’s kind of hard to mess up a BLT. Still, they were delicious. ๐Ÿ˜€๐Ÿฅชโค๏ธ

It’s what’s for lunch.

I had a burger from Arnold’s for lunch today…

I haven’t had a burger from Arnold’s in a while. And it was really good stuff! ๐Ÿ˜€๐Ÿ”๐ŸŸโค๏ธ

My new passport arrived in the mail

A month later, we flew to Jamaica to get married. Thanks, Timehop!๐Ÿ˜€๐Ÿฆ•โค๏ธ

It’s what’s for dinner.

We had spaghetti and meatballs with garlic bread for dinner tonight…

I love spaghetti and meatballs and especially garlic bread. ๐Ÿ˜€๐Ÿโค๏ธ

Our street got plowed.

Being tucked away on a little side street in Northside, we knew our street would never be a priority to the tireless crews clearing the snow off the streets around Cincinnati. But I never knew just how tireless those snow plow crews really are. Our street finally got some attention starting at 4:15 this morning when snow plows made several trips up and down our little street…

I never realized how loud snow plows were. But at least our street looks like this now…

Also, we should have cleared the snow off of our car yesterday instead of waiting until Monday morning. It’s the middle of January and I’m already tired of the snow. ๐Ÿ˜€๐ŸŒจ๏ธโ„๏ธโค๏ธ

Chickowsvidanya.

We stopped into Higher Gravity to try Listermann Brewing’s Chickowsvidanya

It’s a bourbon barrel aged imperial dark ale collaboration with Destihl Brewery. It was really good. And we also tried Listermann’s Chickowsvidanya: Coffee, Cinnamon, and Vanilla. It’s also a bourbon barrel aged imperial dark ale but with coffee, cinnamon, and vanilla added…

And that one was outstanding. It might have been one of the best beers I’ve ever had. It wasn’t too boozy but it had just the perfect amount of coffee, cinnamon, and vanilla flavor, all working exquisitely together. It’s a real shame it was $12 a bottle or I would have started stockpiling them. But we’re very happy that we got to try both of them before they disappeared. We love Listermann’s beers.ย ๐Ÿ˜€๐Ÿบโค๏ธ
