Two years ago tonight, we went to watch our fledgeling new boys, FC Cincinnati play their very first international friendly against Premier League mainstay, Crystal Palace FC right in our backyard at Nippert Stadium…
There were so many highlights from that inaugural season of FC Cincinnati soccer. But the friendly against Crystal Palace at Nippert Stadium was definitely one of the top highlights of the inaugural season for me. Thanks again for reminding us of all the wonderful memories, Timehop. 😀⚽️🦕❤
We made our way over to Higher Gravity this morning to watch the 2018 World Cup final between France and Croatia. We were pulling for France, they were our pre-tournament pick to lift the World Cup but mostly we just wanted to see a really terrific final match regardless of who actually won. We were surprised with how much Higher Gravity really filled in as the match was about to begin…
And boy was it ever a good match! The perfect end to a truly incredible tournament. The match ended 4-2 to France. SIX goals in a World Cup final, are you kidding me? Most of the World Cup finals are so conservative, defensive and boring. No one wants to make a mistake. This match was 90 minutes of end-to-end excitement. I didn’t want it to ever end. But all good thing have to come to an end… VIVA LA FRANCE!
And I finally got to get a photo with Jason from Higher Gravity’s Doggie the Dog…
I’ve been following Doggie on Instagram since right after Higher Gravity opened about a year ago. But what an amazing month of soccer and an outstanding World Cup! It was one of the better ones in recent memory…
We’re already starting the four-year countdown to the next incredible World Cup. The next one will be in Qatar. And we can’t wait for more World Cup excitement.
This afternoon we went up to West Chester to pick up Oscar. He’s been staying with Geri while I recovered from my surgery. It’s great to have him coming back home…
Every time we drive home along I-75 from up north, we pass this odd little building next to the train tracks that run alongside the highway. We’ve passed it a bunch of times since we’ve moved to Northside but I’ve never got to take a photo of it because I’m usually driving. Today, I got to be the passenger on our way home from picking up Oscar. And I finally got to take some photos of that odd little building…
I took a video out the window on our way home too with my new Polaroid CUBE+…
I don’t know why, but I just love videos taken out of the windows of cars. Just watching all the scenery go by, there’s something very en about it to me. I also took some photos with my CUBE+ on our way home once we got off I-75…
My new CUBE+ is fun. But it’s so good to have Oscar home again.
