Cinco de Derby.

We dodged the raindrops and walked down to Second Place for their Cinco de Mayo and Kentucky Derby pregame

They were having special one-day-only Margarita and Mint Julep slushies

Those Mint Julep slushes were out of this world! We hung out and had some slushes and watched some the ridiculously extensive NBC pre-Derby coverage. About an hour or so before the Derby was ready to actually start, we caught an Uber to Mac’s Pizza Pub on campus. We watched Justify win the Derby from Mac’s. What a fun way to pre-game to the FC Cincinnati match! 😀🥃🐴❤️

Rare keg evening at HG.

Every Friday at Higher Gravity, they have been tapping rare and unusual kegs like the Founders Kentucky Breakfast Stout back on Genifer’s birthday. Tonight, they tapped a special keg of a Spicy Margarita Keypunch from Urban Artifact made especially for Higher Gravity

It was a really darn good beer. It wasn’t as good or as spicy as either the Jalapeno Mint Keypunch we took with us up to South Haven a couple of years ago or the Habanero Keypunch we tried when we got back from Michigan. But this was still a darn good beer. And we made Higher Gravity’s Instagram again

While we were at HG, it got really dark and windy and then stormed for a little bit but then the storm blew over and the sunset was pretty spectacular…

It was another really fun Friday night at Higher Gravity. 😀🍺🍻❤️

Upstairs at Arnold’s.

I think of all the times I’ve been in Arnold’s, Cincinnati’s oldest bar. And I can’t ever recall going upstairs. Today was our co-op’s last day at work, and we had her thank you lunch at Arnold’s. We have every work lunch at Arnold’s. It’s a little annoying. Due to a huge reservation that filled their entire patio, we were seated upstairs. I was kind of beside myself that I can’t recall ever being upstairs in Arnold’s. In true Arnold’s style,
it was very eclectic, to say the least…

This is the room we were seated in with the walls completely covered in 20 plus years of Cincinnati Bockfest posters…

Pretty neat. Say what you will about Arnold’s, but it’s definitely a piece of Cincinnati living history. 😀🍺❤️

Happy Star Wars Day!

May the Fourth be with you. 😀✨❤️

Tag! You’re it.

Tag! You’re it. Seen and noted in Northside. 😀🖌️🐁❤️

It’s what’s for dinner.

NYPD Pizza for dinner tonight. We love NYPD. 😀🍕❤️

It’s Skyline Time!

It was Skyline Time for lunch today…

Somewhere between point A and point B, I accumulated $75 worth of Skyline gift cards.
I guess there’s going to be a lot more Skyline time in my future! 😀🧀🌭❤️

Thank You, CanvasChamp!

You might have noticed the Dealspotr logo that showed up a while ago near the bottom of the sidebar here on our blog. I’ve become a verified influencer with Dealspotr.com.  At its core, Dealspotr is a crowdsourcing platform for deal sharing tapped into the power of community to maintain the internet’s largest, most reliable database of promo codes. Personally, I really like Honey. But that’s neither here nor there. But Dealspotr also the Dealspotr Marketplace where they connect influencers and bloggers with brands to promote their brand, products and deals on Dealspotr.

The first brand I wanted to promote was CanvasChampthe “CHAMPION” of Home Decor Printing. As you know, I really love taking photos and capturing memories. CanvasChamp has been passionate about preserving and showcasing those memories with canvas prints that are of the highest level quality yet surprisingly inexpensive. They also handcraft other home decor products that are easy on the wallet as well. They are so confident in their rates that they have their “BEST PRICE GUARANTEE” meaning they’ll match any published price on the internet and beat it by an additional 10%. They claim only thing cheap in a CanvasChamp print is the price. When I was given the opportunity to see for myself, I jumped at the chance.

Set-up was really easy. I selected a 16×20″ canvas. The next step was the hardest step of the entire process: choosing which photo to get printed. I selected a photo from our wedding in Jamaica from my desktop. I discovered you can also upload photos straight from your Instagram, which I thought was a really neat feature. Next, you choose your wrap. I chose a thin gallery wrap meaning my canvas was going to have a 3/4″ inch thickness. Then it was onto choosing the border. I choose to have the photo wrap onto the edges of the canvas. The final steps were choosing the style of the hardware for hanging and any optional color finishing. And then you add your finished creation to your cart. Easy as that. I placed my order and five days later we came home to this was sitting on our front porch…

They really wrapped it up tight for safe shipping…

WOW! Our canvas print turned out awesome!

There’s our hanging hardware on the back…

We took it upstairs to hang in our front bedroom. And it looks fantastic!

The clarity of the photo is amazing. There isn’t any blurriness or pixelization…

The photo wraps around the sides of canvas…

Awesome. Thanks, CanvasChamp! This was easily one of the best quality printed canvases that I’ve seen. And I’ll definitely be ordering more canvases very soon! This canvas would have been just under $20. You really can’t beat that.

Get a free 8″X8″ canvas print with your first order when you enter the promotional code, THADDF OR  FREE8X8 at checkout. And when you share your first purchase with your friends, you’ll get rewarded with a free 12″x12″ canvas print absolutely free when your referral places their first order. USOC17: FC Cincinnati versus Louisville City FC.

IT’S MATCH DAY! And it’s the Dirty River Derby US Open Cup edition. Our beloved FC Cincinnati were taking on heated rival Louisville City FC at Nippert in the third round of the Lamar Hunt US Open Cup 2017. And if just knocking Louisville out of the Cup wasn’t motivation enough, the winner of this match gets to host Columbus Crew in the fourth round of the USOC…

Kind of a sparse crowd in attendance tonight for such a big match…

Digging the guy in the full FC Cincinnati goalkeeper kit…

The last time these two teams met at Nippert, Djiby got red carded and then suspended for an additional five matches for supposedly biting as Louisville player…

So you know he has some revenge on his mind.

O say can you see…

HERE WE GO! Cmon boys!

A nice handful of LCFC fans made the drive up from Louisville for the match…

And at halftime, the match was still knotted at 0-0…

SPRINKLES!!!

Here we go! The second half is underway…

GOAL! DJIBY! 1-0 FC CINCINNATI!

I think this was the smallest crowd ever at Nippert for an FC Cincinnati match…

For comparison, Louisville City FC averaged 7,218 at their home matches in 2016.

AND THERE’S THE FULL-TIME WHISTLE! 1-0 FC Cincinnati

Next match for FC Cincinnati at Nippert will be on June 10th…

When they host Charlotte Indepence…

And…

ON JUNE 14th at 7pm…

#MLS2Cincy…

It’s so exciting! The inaugural HELL IS REAL derby! What a great night! Both on and off the pitch…

SEE YOU ON THE 10th AND THE 14TH! And yes, we already have our tickets for this…

😀 ⚽️ ❤️

Good morning from Northside.
