Yesterday morning, we took Mack to the vet for his ears. He’s fine but we have to take him back next Thursday to his ears flushed. Poor guy. He’ll be okay. But he’s an absolute wreck in the car. He just stands in the back seat and drools everywhere. It’s pretty gross. But after his vet appointment, we ventured into an area we’ve never been to before looking for a Dunkin Donuts for coffee. What we ending up stumbling upon was an area called Finneytown that neither of us had been to before. This afternoon we went back over to Finneytown to have lunch at a Buffalo Wings & Rings we found…
It was really good. Their wings were outstanding and their onion rings were pretty okay. But my favorite part of lunch was starting with an order of mini corn dogs. They were so good. After lunch, we stopped in College Hill to have a beer at Brink Brewing…
We had a couple of beers while watched Colombia knock Poland out of the World Cup and played a best out of five in Sorry! Genifer then sank my Battleship and we played a bunch of Uno. It was a really fun Sunday Funday. 😀🐔🍺❤️
We watched the Mexico versus Portugal Confederations Cup match this morning. And then we headed down to Second Place to watch Chile take on Cameron. On our way to Second Place, we noticed a sign on the door of our beloved Django Western Taco…
Now if we could just get Second Place to move closer as well. Their featured slush today was a cayenne pina colada, which mixed surprisingly well with the bourbon slush…
It tasted like being on vacation. And made for a pretty fun Sunday. 😀🏖️🌮
UPDATE: Django’s old space at the corner of Hamilton and Ble Rock is now empty…
Despite not being big fans of any bands at this year’s Bunbury Music Festival, we bought tickets for the Sunday lineup featuring Thirty Seconds to Mars, The 1975 and Muse among others. We also had a gift card to 21C Museum Hotel downtown on Walnut Street that my work gave us as a wedding present. If you combine the Bunbury and staying downtown at 21C that sounds like a pretty awesome Sunday.
Genifer’s mom, Geri was kind enough to watch Oscar for the evening as well as drop us off at 21C downtown…
Our room was all the way up on the tenth floor…
Drumroll…
It was such an incredible room that really wasn’t all that much smaller than our old apartment. We sat around for a bit and enjoyed our new digs as watched some of the Reds game in our plush, swanky, new home for the night…
And then we went to get a couple of burgers at BRU…
Before we walked down to Sawyer Point to check out Bunbury…
Surprisingly, this is the only photo my camera strap made it into…
We checked out the view from the top of this Miller Lite bar…
Holy geez was that ladder to the roof rickety…
I ended up using four different cameras at Bunbury. I used the camera on my Samsung Galaxy Note 5 and my Samsung Galaxy S. But mostly I used my old point & shoot Canon SX280 to take the majority of photos because of its’ toy camera effect with the dark cornervignetting, blurriness and other distortions like in the photos above and below…
I also took some photos with my Polaroid CUBE…
I also took this video with my CUBE of people just walking passed us as we were people watching while Thirty Seconds to Mars was playing…
Bunbury was such a good time! So much fun. So much great music. We headed home…
And we ordered some Domino’s pizza because Domino’s doesn’t deliver to Northside…
😍❤️
It was kind of weird waking up in downtown Cincinnati again. It definitely had a very distinct deja vu feeling to it…
Especially since you could actually see our old apartment building two blocks away…
I’m going to have to try to source these pillows…
And then Geri and Oscar picked us up, and took us home. And that was that. 🙂
Thank you to Geri for watching Oscar and providing our ground transportation and thank you to Deskey for the wonderful 21C gift card. It made an amazing evening unforgettable on a pretty epic scale!
Second Place put out quite the spread for the match…
It was a pretty amazing atmosphere for both of the games. And… it was super exciting to watch Michigan advance to the Sweet Sixteen. Also, next Saturday the second season of FC Cincinnati USL soccer kicks off in Charleston, South Carolina. And Second Place is having a watch party…
Yacht Club makes a pretty spectacular Bloody Mary…
They’re topped with a pulled pork slider, a chicken wing, strip of bacon and an olive. We shared a breakfast skillet called The Hawt Mess. It had a little bit of everything in it and it was really good. So… much… food. After brunch, we headed over to Second Place to watch the Big Ten Tournament Championship game. Along the way, we noticed this very happy little section of sidewalk on Spring Grove Avenue…
After we walked Oscar this morning, we walked down Hamilton Avenue to get coffee from Collective Espresso Northside. It’s a little bit hard to find. We walked right by it a few weekend’s ago until Genifer finally noticed the sign on the sidewalk…
With coffee in hand, we stopped at Melt Eclectic Cafe to pick-up some brunch to take home with us…
We brought home a couple of Melt’s Breakfast Burritos. And they were really amazing…
It was a great way to start our Sunday. Later, we took Oscar a longer walk. It was so pretty outside…
After that, we puttered a bit around the house but mostly just laid around and watched football for the rest of the day. It was a pretty relaxing Sunday. 🙂
With the time change and the early morning North London Derby, we were up and moving surprisingly early this morning. After walking Oscar, we walked down Hamilton Avenue to The Littlefield for brunch…
Genifer had their Greek Omelet…
And I had the brunch special of the day, lamb and duck sausage with sweet potato biscuits, roasted mushrooms and over-easy egg…
It was such a delicious brunch. One of the best we’ve had in a minute. Afterwards, we checked on the progress of The Littlefield’s new bar next door called Second Place…
It looked like they were making progress. I can’t wait to check it out when it finally opens. It also looked like there’s something new going into to the old Tacocracy space on Hamilton Avenue but it was kinda hard to tell what they were doing…
We had a couple of beers and brought home a growler of Keypunch. On the ride home, we stumbled upon this little, fun-looking waterpark and community pool…
We saw this garage labelled garage…
We came home and grilled up a whole bunch kabobs and steaks…
Oscar kept creeping closer and closer…
Delicious stuff. It turned out to be a really beautiful day and a gorgeous evening…
Especially after Notre Dame lost, that was the cherry on the Sunday. 🙂
