Lunch at Django Western Taco.

We walked over to Django Western Taco to have lunch this afternoon…

Genifer ordered some Django chips and salsa because she loves chip and salsa more than any other person I’ve ever met…

And she ordered one carne asada taco…

I ordered the jerked chicken quesadilla and a prickly pear San Pellegrino…

And today Chef Josh had special bread pudding for dessert. I love bread pudding so we had to give it a try and just like everything else Chef Josh makes, it was delicious…

You can’t beat weekend lunches at Django. 😀🌮❤️

The Comet.

On our way home from Brink’s 2nd-anniversary party, we finally stopped at The Comet in Northside. The Comet is a Northside institution that’s been around since 1995. It’s known for live music, Sunday brunch, and amazing burritos. It’s just 3/4 of a mile from our house but somehow, we’ve never made it up to check it out. To be fair, it’s in the exact outside direction of almost everything else in Northside that we walk to. And we’d have to walk uphill all the way up Hamilton Avenue to get to The Comet…

We had a beer at the bar…

The Comet is a great place. And it smelled so good in there. We’ll definitely have to stop back very soon to actually eat one of their famous burritos and maybe a quesadilla too!

The walk home all downhill and wasn’t bad at all…

It was another fun Saturday in Northside. 😀☄️🍺❤️

Brink Brewing’s 2nd anniversary.

This afternoon we hopped on the Metro 17 bus to head up into College Hill…

It was Brink Brewing‘s 2nd-anniversary party…

It was pretty busy. A lot of people must like Brink as much as we do…

They had a lot of great beers on tap for their birthday party. We had Mint Oreo Moozie Milk Stout and Business Meeting Oatmeal Stout with raspberry and vanilla…

And we had some lunch from Stellar Street Eats…

And there was even some birthday cake!

Happy birthday, Brink! Thanks for 2 great years and here’s to many more to come!

We got a big package box in the mail from JJVE today…

Inside were two six packs…

We’ve had the 10 Barrel Brewing Cucumber Crush Sour before and it is delicious…

But we’ve never even heard of Belching Beaver Peanut Butter Milk Stout before…

Deskey chili cookoff.

At work today, there was a Deskey chili cookoff…

There were even celebrity guest judges from Arnold’s because everything has to be a dang competition…

And Becky was the winner with her #4 chili…

And then there were cupcakes for January birthdays…

And we also revealed our Deskey Secret Valentines. It made for a pretty fun afternoon. 😀🖐️❤️

I wonder if they’re finished across the street. I wouldn’t be at all surprised if they just paved over the space and called it a new surface parking lot…

Happy Valentine’s Day!

This evening we went out to celebrate Valentine’s Day! We talked about grandiose plans and expensive dinners. But instead, we just stopped at new favorite place Northside Distilling to try one of their special Valentine’s Day cocktails…

Genifer ordered The Bless Your Heart…

And I ordered The Dudette. Don’t judge me. It was delicious…

Then we headed back to Northside and stopped at Chameleon for a couple of cheese pizza slices and BBQ chicken wings. We’re not fancy…

Chameleon’s pizza and wings are both out of this world! Sometimes the best Valentine’s Day plans are the simplest. 😀💝🥃🍕❤️

Deskey Secret Valentines.

We drew names at work for Deskey Secret Valentines. I drew our proofreader, Susan and here are the valentines I made for her…

I was just going to do the little photo of her dog Jack who is a pretty funny little dog. He reminds me a lot of Oscar. But then I was looking at Pinterest and saw these other ideas that I thought were pretty cute as well. The inside of little card said, “Thanks a LATTE for all you do.” And inside the dynamite sticks were stacks of Reese’s mini peanut butter cups. Pinterest is awesome for getting ideas for stuff like this.
