Oscar says, “Hello from Northside.”

Looking at the sunrise this morning, I thought the sun might actually break through the clouds. And maybe it would be a pretty nice day…

But it’s still grey this morning…

Good morning from Northside…

Oscar came into the studio to visit me while I was working this afternoon…

Hi Oscar! And guess what? It was still grey this evening…

Good evening from Northside…

And good evening from our backyard…

It’s supposed to be rainy again tomorrow morning. Our plan is to try to be in line over at the Hamilton County Board of Elections before it opens at 8am so Genifer can vote early and I can drop off my absentee ballot.

Fingers crossed. πŸ˜€πŸŒ„β˜οΈπŸ€žβ€οΈ

Tuesdays are grey too?

This morning looked just like yesterday morning, grey and rainy…

For dinner tonight, Genifer made this buffalo chicken pasta

Omigosh. It was soooo good. It was just the right amount of spicy. We had garlic bread with our buffalo chicken pasta. And I love garlic bread.

Then it was back for another walk. And it was still grey and rainy…

Good evening from Northside…

We watched a few more episodes of The Queen’s Gambit tonight.

On the iPad, I watched the Dodgers buy themselves a World Series title. I mean, they had the best team that money could buy. Spared no expense. In my opinion, this season and this World Series should always have an asterisk next to it. But that might be because I just really dislike the Dodgers. They’re like the Yankees of the West. Only without all the championships. πŸ˜€πŸŒ„β€οΈ

Five years ago.

Our beloved bud dog passed away five years ago in the middle of the night…

It’s really hard to believe Milan’s been gone for four years now. There hasn’t been a day that’s gone by where we still haven’t missed him in bunches even after all this time. He’s still always in our thoughts each and every day. And I’m so very thankful that a couple of bud dog photos still show up in my Timehop a few times a week…

All of us still miss you so very much, Milan. You helped me through one of the roughest patches of my life and helped me come out the other side. You were always there for me. Always there with me. You were the best friend I’ve ever had. And it breaks our hearts that you’re not still here with us now. You would have loved our big house with our little backyard and our neighborhood with all the walks we take through the woods. You were definitely taken from us far too soon.

Rest in peace, bud dog. I will always love you and miss you
more than words could ever possibly say.

Milan Fiala: January 5th, 2006 – October 26th, 2015

Nice! You have a reward.

Good morning from Northside…

This afternoon we ordered pizza from Taft’s Brewpourium. And we had accumulated some rewards…

Omigosh! Look at our Taft’s Brewpourium pizza feast…

I’m pretty sure Taft’s is my favorite pizza is all of Cincinnati. It’s so good.

Oscar was telling us it’s time to go on our evening walk…

And when we were walking the dogs, we noticed this…

That’s pretty darn creepy.

Good evening from Northside…

We hung this guy out on our back porch…

This afternoon I had to knock out a few things for work while I listened to Arsenal lose 1-0 to Leicester, and then we watched the Bengals come up short against the Browns.

This evening, we watched the Dodgers win the World Series. It’s a bummer. It would have been so neat for Tampa Bay teams to win the Stanley Cup and the World Series. This season will always have asterisk next to it for me. The Dodgers were the best team that money could buy over the course of a pandemic-shortened 60-game season. Personally, I liked it much better when the Dodgers would spend all that money year after year and and then come up short. That was great. πŸ˜€πŸŒ„πŸ•πŸΎβš½οΈπŸˆβšΎοΈβ€οΈ

A big sports Saturday.

Dang! It was another beautiful morning…

Good morning from Northside…

And we walked down the path by the school to look at the sunrise again

We drove over to Oakley to go to the grocery. But first, we stopped to fuel up Genifer’s Audi. The sun was just coming up over the buildings…

And then it was on to the grocery…

Kroger was completely sold out of both the panda bear and the train

So somebody does actually buy them. I wonder if they are any good? Someday, I’ll manage to sneak them into our cart.

Kroger did have a very nice assortment of great balloons today…

With it being so close to Halloween, I almost got this Monster POP!

And then we got our Saturday morning Mad Llama coffee…

Good evening from Northside…

Genifer made a slow-cooker pot roast for dinner tonight…

I made mine into an open-faced roast beef sammich…

And it was awesome! I’d been craving a sammich like this for a whlie now.

Mack kept bringing me his football. He must really be ready to kickoff another season of Michigan football as well…

Later this evening, all my teams kicked off at exactly the same time…

On the TV, I had with my Louisville City hosting Tampa Bay Rowdies the USL Eastern Conference finals. On the iPad, I had my Minnesota United versus our FC Cincinnati. And on the iPod, I had the opener of the Michigan football season as they played away to Minnesota.

LouCity lost 2-1. MNUFC stole one from FC|C 1-0 on a late scramble in the 90+2′, and Michigan whooped Minnesota 49-24. I guess two out of three isn’t bad. Louisville had a wonderful season that included a run of 13 games unbeaten, with eight straight wins that ended with tonight’s loss. πŸ˜€πŸŒ„β€οΈ

UPDATE: USL made the determination that the season will conclude after Tampa Bay Rowdies and Phoenix Rising FC each progressed through the playoffs to win the Eastern Conference and Western Conference titles, respectively. USL announced that the 2020 USL Championship Final will not be played after multiple persons within the clubs tested positive for COVID-19. The final was scheduled for Sunday, November 1. Tampa Bay and Phoenix will explore the possibility of a 2021 Season Kickoff game between the two clubs prior to the start of the 2021 Championship season.

Wow. A season without a champion. 2020 just keeps getting better.

An unexpected visitor.

There have been some really pretty sunrises lately…

Good morning from Northside…

The days are definitely getting shorter…

It’s Friday! To celebrate, we shared our crowler of Vanilla Oatbama oatmeal stout from Presidential Brewing up in Portage, Michigan…

Their beers were really good.

Somehow a praying mantis made its way into our house…

We wanted to get it outside before Mack tried to eat it…

I think Praying Mantis are pretty neat. And we don’t seen them very often. I think this is the third one we’ve seen since we moved into our house. And it’s the second one we’ve seen recently.

After all that excitement, we finished The Haunting at Bly Manor. It was good. But not at all what we were expecting it to be. We were thinking ghosts and things that go bump in the night but it turned out to be just a pretty tragic, sad love story. The best part was the little girl Flora always proclaiming everything to be perfectly splendid.” πŸ˜€πŸŒ„β›…οΈπŸΊπŸͺ²πŸ“Ίβ€οΈ

Pause for paws.

Oscar is back home after our long weekend to Michigan!

He’s so handsome. It’s great to have Oscar back home. Bear is going to stay with Geri for a little bit but he’ll come back home with us in a couple of weeks. πŸ˜€πŸΎβ€οΈ

Norwegian trains vs. Bob Ross.

It seems like we have a subscription to almost every streaming service imaginable: YouTubeTV, Netflix, PrimeVideo, Hulu, Disney+, Peacock for Premier League soccer, CBS for Champions and Europa League soccer and ESPN+ for MLS, USL and Serie A soccer. Whew! Even with all those streamers, we still absolutely love PlutoTV. Pluto is 100% free TV and movies with 100s of TV channels and 1000s of movies. Did I mention Pluto is 100% free?

Most of the time, I listen to PlutoTV while I’m working during the day. I love it because I can pick a channel and watch the same program for as long as I want. I don’t have to try to find something new to listen to every hour when new shows come on. PlutoTV is perfectly splendid.

PlutoTV is constantly updating their lineup and adding new channels. Just recently, they removed one of my very favorite channels, SurfTV. Nothing but surfing shows 24/7. It was awesome. But sadly, it is no more. And that’s perfectly dreadful. But one of our other favorite channels on PlutoTV is SlowTV

SlowTV is nothing but beautiful, scenic train rides through the countryside of Norway 24/7. The scenery of the Norwegian countryside is just gorgeous. We love it. And we fall asleep to SlowTV almost every night.

But Pluto just added a 24/7 Bob Ross painting channel….

The new Bob Ross channel might give SlowTV a run for it’s money for the channel we fall asleep to every night. We’ll have to give it a try.

Norwegian trains versus Bob Ross. It kind of sounds like a grudge match for the ages. πŸ˜€πŸ“ΊπŸ›€οΈπŸ–ΌοΈβ€οΈ

Wednesday Pad Thai.

Good morning from Northside. They sun was out this morning…

It’s beginning to look a lot like fall in pockets around Northside…

Good evening from Northside…

From atop the hill at the end of our street, it looks like the colors are just starting to change around the rest of our neighborhood…

We tried a Pad Thai meal kit for dinner tonight…

It was really good. Surprisingly good. For dessert, we tried an Apple Pie Kit Kat…

It tasted just like apple pie but in Kit Kat form. I thought it was pretty good. Genifer didn’t like it at all.

I was putting the trash out for collection and the sky looked really pretty…

Hello moon…

We had another pretty good Wednesday. πŸ˜€πŸŒ„πŸœπŸ₯§πŸŒ”❀️

After these messages…

We’ll be right back. We’re heading up north to visit my parents for a long weekend in Kalamazoo. It’s been way too long since we’ve seen them.

Follow along on our pandemic Pure Michigan adventure on our Flickr. πŸ˜€πŸ—ΊοΈβ€οΈ
