Breakfast at Blue Jay.

We were supposed to get a big snow storm today. I heard up to 5 inches of the cold white stuff. Before the snowpocalypse, we headed to Blue Jay for breakfast…

I had pancakes with scrambled eggs and sausage with toast. It was so good. And I almost finished everything. But the real standouts were the biscuits and sausage gravy that Genifer ordered. Wow! They were incredible.Next time, I’m either getting those or I’m getting the Northsider Omelet topped with their homemade Cincinnati chili! When we were heading home, we could help but notice this Elvis lamp next door in the window of Shake It Records

And despite it snowing huge snowflakes, we really didn’t get very much snow on the ground. Five inches, pfffft. 😀🥞❤️

Good evening from Northside.

And after ridiculously filtering it in Flickr…

Good evening from Northside. 😀🌄❤️

It’s what’s for lunch.

I had cheese coneys from Sports Page on Main for lunch today…

They were one of the specials of the day: buy three coneys, get one free. And you can’t beat that. They weren’t exact Skyline but they were still pretty dang good. 😀🧀🌭❤️

Seen and noted.

I’ve never noticed this warehouse behind the Cincinnati Ballet at the corner of Liberty and Central Parkway before this morning…

Now when we drive into downtown in the mornings, I can’t stop looking at it. And every day I wonder how people got all the way to the roof to tag up there. 😀🌆❤️

Good morning from Northside.

Good morning from Northside. 😀🌄❤️

Loaded tots & knots.

After work this evening we went to Taft’s Brewpourium for a celebratory beer or two with some loaded tots and knots after my six-week post-op checkup

It was a delicious end to a pretty great day. 😀🍻🍕❤️

My six-week post-op checkup.

This afternoon I had my six-week post-operation checkup…

It’s pretty crazy to think that it’s already been six weeks since my hip surgery

They took a couple of x-rays of my new hip. My doctor said that everything looked great on the x-rays. And he said that it looked like I was walking very well with my new hip. Everyone at The Christ Hospital did such an amazing job with this entire procedure. It’s incredible to think that just six weeks after my surgery, I’m walking unassisted without crutches or a cane and without any pain. I’m not going to post photos of the x-rays in this blog post but you can see them here, here, and both of them here. They’re not gross or anything but I know some people might be squeamish about that sort of thing. And that’s okay. I wasn’t sure how I would feel about seeing them. But I was kind of in awe of them. Looking at the x-rays, it’s just pretty crazy to think that piece of hardware is inside of me along with one very sizeable screw. And what really struck me after looking at the x-rays is that the whole thing didn’t hurt more. You’d think there would have been some amount of rather horrific pain afterwards. But that wasn’t the case at all. There was very little pain after my surgery and throughout the entire recovery process. I hope everything goes just as smoothly with my next hip surgery because this one wasn’t really that bad at all.

Next week, I have my last two sessions of physical therapy and then I’m done with everything for a few months until I have my other hip replaced at the end of June, physical therapy in July and I’ll be good as new by August.  😀🏥❤️

Winter wonderland.

We woke up to a couple inches of snow covering Northside…

Looking out one of the windows in our office, our backyard looked really pretty when it was all covered in snow…

We took the dogs out on a walk in the snow before we left for work…

It’s still nothing compared to what they are getting out east but, it’s almost as much snow as we got all winter. And now it’s spring. But this isn’t anything new, we got snow in March last year too. Now that my hip is getting better, we really need to invest in a couple of nice sleds. 😀🌨️❄️❤️

It’s what’s for dinner.

Genifer made Honey Sriracha Chicken for dinner again tonight..

It’s one of my favorite dinners she makes. 😀🍯🔥🐔❤️

Good evening from Northside.

It’s the second day of Spring. Why is it so cold and rainy evening in Northside?

Nonetheless, good evening from Northside. Even if it’s not a very pretty one. Taken with Instagram. 😀🌇❤️
