Our Halloween.

Halloween should’ve been perfect this year. It fell on a Saturday, with a full moon and with daylight savings time everyone got an extra hour of sleep the next day. But unfortunately, 2020 had other ideas.

Halloween got off to a very frosty start…

Good morning from Northside…

And for the first time this fall, we had to scrape our windows this morning…

After the windows defrosted, we ran over to the grocery…

And then it was on to Mad Llama for Saturday morning Halloween coffee…

After Michigan State shocked Michigan, we rolled over to Taft’s Brewpourium for a delicious pizza dinner…

As we were walking across the parking lot, a train was rolling by…

Taft’s had a Halloween special this weekend…

We had a Maple vs Amburana double imperial stout before we ordered….

While we drank our beer, we watched our street view WyzeCam to see if there were many trick-or-treaters out and about…

And it looked like there were a few on our street…

There’s our cotton candy….

And there’s our pizzas…

After we devoured our delicious pizza, we took the dogs on a walk and couldn’t help but admire the Halloween full moon…

Good evening from Northside…

All things considered, we had a pretty good Halloween. 😀🌄🍕🎃❤️

Happy Halloween!

Happy Halloween from Milk & Mocha Bear and Brown & Cony Life. 😀🐻🐰🎃❤️

Happy Halloween Eve.

Tomorrow is Halloween. There will still be trick-or-treating but still, it just won’t be the same with the COVID raging, will it? Who would have thought that all the way back in the middle of March that the number of pandemic cases would be still be accerlating eight months later at Halloween?

But at least it’s Friday…

And guess what, it’s also still grey and overcast. So, yeah.

Good morning from Northside…

Genifer made some delicious cookies…

The blue skies were trying to peek through the clouds…

Good evening from Northside…

We ate oven pizzas for dinner…

The skies were starting to clear…

Maybe it’ll actually be nice for Halloween tomorrow…

Tonight, we watched Maleficent on Disney+. It’s hard to believe that we’d never seen it before. But it was really good. It was great way to wind down our Halloween Eve.

Happy Halloween Eve! 😀🌄☁️🍪🍕🐾📺❤️

This is the way.

The new season of The Mandalorian starts streaming today on Disney+…

To say I’m really excited is an understatement. 😳📺🚀❤️

Long lines everywhere.

We got up early this morning and dodged the raindrops to get over to the Hamilton County Board of Elections. We figured since it was really rainy this morning that there wouldn’t be many people in line to vote early…

And holy geez, were we ever wrong…

Those are terrible photos taken from our car but the line stretched the entire length of the building and started down the side. We decided not to wait in line in the rain. I did get to drop my absentee ballot off in the drop box. So at least we accomplished something this morning…

Afterward, we stopped at Biggby for coffee and there was a long line there as well…

But there wasn’t anyone inside Biggby…

We like Biggby. A lot.

It was still rainy this evening…

Good evening from Northside…

Even with all this rain over the last few days, our basement is still completely dry…

We had oven sausages and sweet potatoes for dinner tonight…

I really love sausages and sweet potatoes.

Our new plan for getting Genifer’s vote counted is just to get to our polling place as early as we can on Tuesday. Hopefully the lines won’t be too long. Finger crossed again. 😀🌄🌧️🗳️🤞❤️

Oscar says, “Hello from Northside.”

Looking at the sunrise this morning, I thought the sun might actually break through the clouds. And maybe it would be a pretty nice day…

But it’s still grey this morning…

Good morning from Northside…

Oscar came into the studio to visit me while I was working this afternoon…

Hi Oscar! And guess what? It was still grey this evening…

Good evening from Northside…

And good evening from our backyard…

It’s supposed to be rainy again tomorrow morning. Our plan is to try to be in line over at the Hamilton County Board of Elections before it opens at 8am so Genifer can vote early and I can drop off my absentee ballot.

Fingers crossed. 😀🌄☁️🤞❤️

Tuesdays are grey too?

This morning looked just like yesterday morning, grey and rainy…

For dinner tonight, Genifer made this buffalo chicken pasta

Omigosh. It was soooo good. It was just the right amount of spicy. We had garlic bread with our buffalo chicken pasta. And I love garlic bread.

Then it was back for another walk. And it was still grey and rainy…

Good evening from Northside…

We watched a few more episodes of The Queen’s Gambit tonight.

On the iPad, I watched the Dodgers buy themselves a World Series title. I mean, they had the best team that money could buy. Spared no expense. In my opinion, this season and this World Series should always have an asterisk next to it. But that might be because I just really dislike the Dodgers. They’re like the Yankees of the West. Only without all the championships. 😀🌄❤️

Why are Mondays always so grey?

It was another Monday morning. And it was another grey and rainy morning. Why are Mondays always so grey and rainy?

Good morning from Northside…

Mack and Oscar were waiting for postwalk treats…

The Pad Thai we had last week was so good that I got this Pad Thai for lunch when we were at the grocery…

The noodles were good. But the flavor definitely wasn’t Pad Thai. It was just Asiany noodles. The flavor was kind of odd, actually. I don’t think I would get these noodles again. At least this flavor.

And for dinner tonight, we had another one of the Kroger Prep+Pared Home Chef Express meals for dinner tonight. This one was Margarita Chicken with garlic Parmesan zucchini…

And then with the pesto added on top of the chicken…

And it was another delicious dinner. The chicken was so cheesy and the pesto on top of it was great. The Parmesan zucchini was just out of this world good. We really like the Kroger Prep+Pared Home Chef Express meal kits a lot.

It started really sprinkling while we were on our walk this evening…

Good evening from Northside…

Tonight, we started The Queen’s Gambit on Netflix. We’re just a couple of episodes in and it’s pretty good so far. 😀🌄🍜🌧️📺❤️

Five years ago.

Our beloved bud dog passed away five years ago in the middle of the night…

It’s really hard to believe Milan’s been gone for four years now. There hasn’t been a day that’s gone by where we still haven’t missed him in bunches even after all this time. He’s still always in our thoughts each and every day. And I’m so very thankful that a couple of bud dog photos still show up in my Timehop a few times a week…

All of us still miss you so very much, Milan. You helped me through one of the roughest patches of my life and helped me come out the other side. You were always there for me. Always there with me. You were the best friend I’ve ever had. And it breaks our hearts that you’re not still here with us now. You would have loved our big house with our little backyard and our neighborhood with all the walks we take through the woods. You were definitely taken from us far too soon.

Rest in peace, bud dog. I will always love you and miss you
more than words could ever possibly say.

Milan Fiala: January 5th, 2006 – October 26th, 2015

Nice! You have a reward.

Good morning from Northside…

This afternoon we ordered pizza from Taft’s Brewpourium. And we had accumulated some rewards…

Omigosh! Look at our Taft’s Brewpourium pizza feast…

I’m pretty sure Taft’s is my favorite pizza is all of Cincinnati. It’s so good.

Oscar was telling us it’s time to go on our evening walk…

And when we were walking the dogs, we noticed this…

That’s pretty darn creepy.

Good evening from Northside…

We hung this guy out on our back porch…

This afternoon I had to knock out a few things for work while I listened to Arsenal lose 1-0 to Leicester, and then we watched the Bengals come up short against the Browns.

This evening, we watched the Dodgers win the World Series. It’s a bummer. It would have been so neat for Tampa Bay teams to win the Stanley Cup and the World Series. This season will always have asterisk next to it for me. The Dodgers were the best team that money could buy over the course of a pandemic-shortened 60-game season. Personally, I liked it much better when the Dodgers would spend all that money year after year and and then come up short. That was great. 😀🌄🍕🐾⚽️🏈⚾️❤️
