Our street got plowed.

Being tucked away on a little side street in Northside, we knew our street would never be a priority to the tireless crews clearing the snow off the streets around Cincinnati. But I never knew just how tireless those snow plow crews really are. Our street finally got some attention starting at 4:15 this morning when snow plows made several trips up and down our little street…

I never realized how loud snow plows were. But at least our street looks like this now…

Also, we should have cleared the snow off of our car yesterday instead of waiting until Monday morning. It’s the middle of January and I’m already tired of the snow. 😀🌨️❄️❤️

Chickowsvidanya.

We stopped into Higher Gravity to try Listermann Brewing’s Chickowsvidanya

It’s a bourbon barrel aged imperial dark ale collaboration with Destihl Brewery. It was really good. And we also tried Listermann’s Chickowsvidanya: Coffee, Cinnamon, and Vanilla. It’s also a bourbon barrel aged imperial dark ale but with coffee, cinnamon, and vanilla added…

And that one was outstanding. It might have been one of the best beers I’ve ever had. It wasn’t too boozy but it had just the perfect amount of coffee, cinnamon, and vanilla flavor, all working exquisitely together. It’s a real shame it was $12 a bottle or I would have started stockpiling them. But we’re very happy that we got to try both of them before they disappeared. We love Listermann’s beers. 😀🍺❤️

Snowpocalypse.

So the meteorologists were off by one day. Overnight, we got all that snow they were talking for the last few days. And we definitely got the 4-6 inches they’ve been saying we were going to get…

We took the dogs out for a walk in the snow…

And we went for another dog walk later in the evening…

Genifer tried to slide down the hill at the end of our street on her coat…

And hopefully, this is our one big snow for the winter. But somehow, I don’t think we’ll be that lucky. 😀🌨️❄️❤️

Pause for paws.

Mack and Oscar trapped upstairs as we’re getting ready to head out into the snow for their walk. 😀🐾❤️

Leggo my Eggo.

Eggo waffles are pretty good stuff. Yum! 😀🥞🥚❤️

Winter wonderland.

The local news was predicting an overnight snowpocalypse with 4-6 inches of the white stuff. When we woke up this morning this is what it looked like outside…

As you can see, we definitely got some snow. But it was wasn’t the 4-6 inches the local meteorologists were all freaking out about. 😀🌨️❄️❤️

Woodburn + Che Empanadas.

After work this evening, I hopped on the Metro 11 bus…

I rode it up into East Walnut Hills to meet Genifer again at Woodburn Brewery

Their chocolate mint imperial stout is just out of this world…

And then the Che empanada truck pulled up right outside Woodburn’s front door…

We got three delicious Che empanadas and chips&salsa which turned out to be much more like nachos than chips&salsa…

And Cincinnati was bracing a big snopocolypse…

So we finished our empanadas and beers and headed for home before the white death began. 😀🍺❤️

It’s what’s for lunch.

To celebrate my tenth Twitter birthday, I got a grilled cheese with ham with fries from Sports Page on Main

I love their crinkle cut fries…

And I got to use my new reusable metal drinking straw…

I don’t know whose grilled cheese with ham I like better, the one from Sports Page or the one from Boswell’s. You really can’t go wrong with either one. 😀🥪🍟❤️

Today’s my Twitter birthday!

Today is my Twitter birthday! I’ve been on Twitter for 10 years now!

Time flies when you’re tweeting tweets. Find your Twitter birthday at twbirthday.com.😀🕊️🎂❤️

Let’s GO X!

I left work a little early today to hop on the Metro Plus…

And I rode the Metro Plus up to Listermann across the street from Xavier…

Here’s what was on tap at Listermann tonight

There I met our friend Chris who happens to work for Xavier. He got us tickets for tonight’s Big East matchup between the Georgetown Hoyas and our Xavier Musketeers…

One of my earliest basketball memories is watching the Big East Conference in its heyday when Lou Carnesecca was coaching Chris Mullin at St. John’s, Rollie Massimino was coaching Ed Pinckney at Villanova, PJ Carlesimo was at Seton Hall, Jim Boeheim was well on his way at Syracuse and… John Thompson was coaching Patrick Ewing at Georgetown.

Fast forward to today and now Patrick Ewing is the head coach of the Georgetown Hoyas and he’s standing right down there on the court of Cintas Center…

By the way, ESPN made an outstanding 30-for-30 documentary called “Requiem For The Big East” about the meteoric rise of the Big East Conference. And how it became one of the most successful college sports leagues in America. Incredible documentary. If you love college basketball and get a chance, it is definitely worth watching.

Xavier trailed by seventeen at one point in the first half. But they went on a run to close the gap to being down just five at halftime…

And Xavier would go on to win the game 81-75!

One of the cool, relatively new features of Cintas Center is the popular Norwood Café, more commonly known as The Woods. Norwood Cafe used to be located at the corner of Dana and Cleneay. It was demolished in 2008 to make room for construction of University Station, including Xavier’s All for One Shop. Renovations to Cintas Center for the 2017/18 season saw the recreation of the cafe on the upper concourse. And they brought in the original 100-year-old cherryback bar that spanned the 35 feet of The Woods’ main gathering space along with a close representation of the tile floor and the original chandelier…

Pretty neat stuff. Here’s a cool video about the renovations. In front of the area are terraces where you can stand and watch the game with your beverage. And we love standing and watching sports. Also cool was the fact that back when Xavier used to have a football team, they were involved in the first doubleheader in college football…

Who knew?! It was a great time. Thanks again to Chris and Tayler for getting us tickets! Let’s GO X! 😀🏀❤️
