And it was a rainy Sunday too.

Bleh. Good morning from Northside…

When I was putting this blog post together, I had a hard time figuring out if these were photos from this morning or yesterday evening. It all just looked the same… very, very grey and awfully damp…

We ran over to Lowe’s this morning…

Lowe’s had all their Christmas stuff out in full force…

Christmas trees are silly expensive at Lowe’s…

It must be the frosted tips or maybe the lights…

We got our artificial Christmas tree for a fraction of that a couple of years ago. We found it on one of those deals and discounts websites after Christmas. And I guess we got a really good deal. I liked this wreath…

We’re thinking about replacing the carpeting in our bedroom with this embossed wood plank laminate flooring in Seaside Chestnut

We want to remake our third floor bedroom to have a coastal cottage feel. Genifer wants to paint our bedroom. Here’s the colors she’s thinking…

And I really liked this rug…

And then we went back to Biggby for coffee

I tried this new Biggby maple waffle breakfast sammich…

It was really good. I would definitely eat it again.

And after some football, it was good evening from Northside…

We watched my Minnesota United host their first home playoff match tonight against Colorado Rapids. Andhe Loons earned their first playoff victory with a 3-0 win over Colorado led by two goals from Kevin Molino…

Take that, Stan Kroenke.

Two years ago, we were in Dallas for Thanksgiving. And I ate the spiciest chicken sammich I have ever eaten. It was so delicious but soooo spicy…

Thanks for the memories, Timehop.

It was just a low-key weekend with all the rain. πŸ˜€πŸŒ„πŸŒ§οΈπŸŽ„β˜•οΈπŸˆβš½οΈπŸ¦•πŸ”πŸ”₯❀️

A rainy Saturday.

The weather forecast said was supposed to be a rainy weekend…

They weren’t kidding. Good morning from Northside…

We dodged the raindrops and ran over to the grocery store…

It’s hard to believe that next Thursday will be Thanksgiving. There were some great Thanksgiving balloons at the store this morning…

They had Christmas balloons too… because why not?

After the grocery, we stopped for Saturday morning coffee at Biggby

It was a rainy day and we all just sort of laid around today…

We ate leftover pizza and watched the MLS Cup Playoffs play-in matches. And another exciting match was sullied by nonsensical MLS officiating when the match went to penalty shoot-outs

And the result was a 22-minute shoot-out that involved the Orlando City’s keeper getting sent off for his second bookable offense…

Upon review, he was judged to have clearly come off his line to make a save…

And he was sent off as a result. After all that on the very next penalty, NYCFC’s keeper came off his line in the EXACT same manner to make the save to force sudden death…

And ridiculously enough, he was not booked. The kick was not retaken. Nothing. Fine as you were. And Bob’s your uncle. But that’s MLS for you. No consistency. It was one of the most unnecessarily bizarre penalty shoot-outs I’ve ever seen.

After all that mess, we took the dogs on a walk around the block…

It was still rainy. Good evening from Northside…

And later we watched Michigan take over 4 1/2 hours and three overtimes to finally get the W at Rutgers

It was a pretty good lazy Saturday despite all the rain. πŸ˜€πŸŒ„πŸŒ§οΈπŸŽˆβ˜•οΈπŸ•βš½οΈπŸˆβ€οΈ

And our basement is still completely dry.

Tuesdays can be hard too.

The sky was so pretty this morning…

Good morning from Northside…

We had to run an late errand late this morning, and while we were out the sky started looking very threatening…

But it never rained, thankfully. We picked up Wendy’s for lunch on the way home. After we finished lunch, it was just work, work, work for the rest of the afternoon.

And finally, it was good evening from Northside…

All these photos this evening were taken just before to seven o’clock…

We were pretty tired this evening. I think we were both asleep shortly after nine o’clock. Ugh, Tuesdays. Amiright? πŸ˜€πŸŒ„β˜οΈβ€οΈ

It’s nice to be home.

Our first day back home and of course, it was a cold and rainy morning…

Welcome back to Ohio and good morning from Northside…

We ran over to the grocery because we didn’t have any food in our house…

It’s the middle of November and there were Christmas display all over the store. I chose to ignore all that nonsense. I could ignore this giant lion…

Kroger had the panda bear and the train back on the shelf again today…

I forgot to look at the balloons. I bet there were some great Thanskgiving balloons. Hopefully, I’ll remember to look if we go to the grocery store next weekend.

After the grocery, we stopped at Mad Llama for Sunday morning coffee…

One of my favorite sayings is, Comparison is the thief of joy. On our way home, we had a discussion about which was better: the Espresso Shake from Sunset Ice Cream in Duck OR the Caramel Java Whip from Mad Llama. They are both really good. I think I like the Java Whip from Mad Llama better because it’s soft serve, coffee AND caramel, which is a good thing because we can get to Mad Llama a lot easier than we can get to Sunset Ice Cream. But why compare? Why not just enjoy both?

We have some leaves to rake in our backyard…

But it was so rainy this morning that we’re not going to be able to rake them today. The leaves were so wet. That’s fine because we just wanted to be lazy today. And the sky still looked pretty ominous…

I think Mack was really happy to be back home again…

Later, we took the dog’s around the block and the sky was so pretty…

And good evening from our backyard…

I took all the photos this evening with my little DJI Osmo Pocket. And they turned out really nice, even in low light. The contrast was much better than my mobile’s camera. I think I need to find a different Android camera app to try. However, the DJI Osmo Pocket struggled with these night clouds that we saw from our backyard…

It was really nice to be back home. We pretty much laid around all day and watched football. I worked on my photos and videos a bit. We did laundry and got ready to get back to work tomorrow. Later, we finally finished The Queen’s Gambit on Netflix. For a show about chess, it was really very good.

It’s fun to go place but it’s also nice to be back home. πŸ˜€πŸŒ„πŸ¦β˜•οΈπŸ“Ίβ™ŸοΈβ€οΈ

Happy Halloween Eve.

Tomorrow is Halloween. There will still be trick-or-treating but still, it just won’t be the same with the COVID raging, will it? Who would have thought that all the way back in the middle of March that the number of pandemic cases would be still be accerlating eight months later at Halloween?

But at least it’s Friday…

And guess what, it’s also still grey and overcast. So, yeah.

Good morning from Northside…

Genifer made some delicious cookies…

The blue skies were trying to peek through the clouds…

Good evening from Northside…

We ate oven pizzas for dinner…

The skies were starting to clear…

Maybe it’ll actually be nice for Halloween tomorrow…

Tonight, we watched Maleficent on Disney+. It’s hard to believe that we’d never seen it before. But it was really good. It was great way to wind down our Halloween Eve.

Happy Halloween Eve! πŸ˜€πŸŒ„β˜οΈπŸͺπŸ•πŸΎπŸ“Ίβ€οΈ

Long lines everywhere.

We got up early this morning and dodged the raindrops to get over to the Hamilton County Board of Elections. We figured since it was really rainy this morning that there wouldn’t be many people in line to vote early…

And holy geez, were we ever wrong…

Those are terrible photos taken from our car but the line stretched the entire length of the building and started down the side. We decided not to wait in line in the rain. I did get to drop my absentee ballot off in the drop box. So at least we accomplished something this morning…

Afterward, we stopped at Biggby for coffee and there was a long line there as well…

But there wasn’t anyone inside Biggby…

We like Biggby. A lot.

It was still rainy this evening…

Good evening from Northside…

Even with all this rain over the last few days, our basement is still completely dry…

We had oven sausages and sweet potatoes for dinner tonight…

I really love sausages and sweet potatoes.

Our new plan for getting Genifer’s vote counted is just to get to our polling place as early as we can on Tuesday. Hopefully the lines won’t be too long. Finger crossed again. πŸ˜€πŸŒ„πŸŒ§οΈπŸ—³οΈπŸ€žβ€οΈ

Oscar says, “Hello from Northside.”

Looking at the sunrise this morning, I thought the sun might actually break through the clouds. And maybe it would be a pretty nice day…

But it’s still grey this morning…

Good morning from Northside…

Oscar came into the studio to visit me while I was working this afternoon…

Hi Oscar! And guess what? It was still grey this evening…

Good evening from Northside…

And good evening from our backyard…

It’s supposed to be rainy again tomorrow morning. Our plan is to try to be in line over at the Hamilton County Board of Elections before it opens at 8am so Genifer can vote early and I can drop off my absentee ballot.

Fingers crossed. πŸ˜€πŸŒ„β˜οΈπŸ€žβ€οΈ

Tuesdays are grey too?

This morning looked just like yesterday morning, grey and rainy…

For dinner tonight, Genifer made this buffalo chicken pasta

Omigosh. It was soooo good. It was just the right amount of spicy. We had garlic bread with our buffalo chicken pasta. And I love garlic bread.

Then it was back for another walk. And it was still grey and rainy…

Good evening from Northside…

We watched a few more episodes of The Queen’s Gambit tonight.

On the iPad, I watched the Dodgers buy themselves a World Series title. I mean, they had the best team that money could buy. Spared no expense. In my opinion, this season and this World Series should always have an asterisk next to it. But that might be because I just really dislike the Dodgers. They’re like the Yankees of the West. Only without all the championships. πŸ˜€πŸŒ„β€οΈ

Why are Mondays always so grey?

It was another Monday morning. And it was another grey and rainy morning. Why are Mondays always so grey and rainy?

Good morning from Northside…

Mack and Oscar were waiting for postwalk treats…

The Pad Thai we had last week was so good that I got this Pad Thai for lunch when we were at the grocery…

The noodles were good. But the flavor definitely wasn’t Pad Thai. It was just Asiany noodles. The flavor was kind of odd, actually. I don’t think I would get these noodles again. At least this flavor.

And for dinner tonight, we hadΒ another one of the Kroger Prep+Pared Home Chef Express mealsΒ for dinner tonight. This one was Margarita Chicken with garlic Parmesan zucchini…

And then with the pesto added on top of the chicken…

And it was another delicious dinner. The chicken was so cheesy and the pesto on top of it was great. The Parmesan zucchini was just out of this world good. We really like theΒ Kroger Prep+Pared Home Chef Express meal kits a lot.

It started really sprinkling while we were on our walk this evening…

Good evening from Northside…

Tonight, we started The Queen’s Gambit on Netflix. We’re just a couple of episodes in and it’s pretty good so far. πŸ˜€πŸŒ„πŸœπŸŒ§οΈπŸ“Ίβ€οΈ

Nice! You have a reward.

Good morning from Northside…

This afternoon we ordered pizza from Taft’s Brewpourium. And we had accumulated some rewards…

Omigosh! Look at our Taft’s Brewpourium pizza feast…

I’m pretty sure Taft’s is my favorite pizza is all of Cincinnati. It’s so good.

Oscar was telling us it’s time to go on our evening walk…

And when we were walking the dogs, we noticed this…

That’s pretty darn creepy.

Good evening from Northside…

We hung this guy out on our back porch…

This afternoon I had to knock out a few things for work while I listened to Arsenal lose 1-0 to Leicester, and then we watched the Bengals come up short against the Browns.

This evening, we watched the Dodgers win the World Series. It’s a bummer. It would have been so neat for Tampa Bay teams to win the Stanley Cup and the World Series. This season will always have asterisk next to it for me. The Dodgers were the best team that money could buy over the course of a pandemic-shortened 60-game season. Personally, I liked it much better when the Dodgers would spend all that money year after year and and then come up short. That was great. πŸ˜€πŸŒ„πŸ•πŸΎβš½οΈπŸˆβšΎοΈβ€οΈ
