Gaslight Bar & Grill.

After work this evening, we stopped in Clifton’s Gaslight District

There were some really cool sidewalk artworks along Ludlow Avenue…

And we walked by parallel parking spots that had been converted into an awesome sociable parklet space

The recently renovated Gaslight Bar & Grill

It opened back in January in the old Ludlow Avenue library branch in Clifton…

And it has Clifton’s first rooftop bar…

Genifer ordered a veggie burger without the bun…

And I ordered the shrimp po’boy…

Everything was really delicious. Gaslight’s fries were outstanding. We wish we would have come to Gaslight sooner in the summer because their outdoor patio is really pretty amazing. We can’t wait to hang out here more next summer! ๐Ÿ˜€๐Ÿ”๐Ÿค๐ŸŸโค๏ธ

Seen and noted.

While we were waiting for the Streetcar, we could see the Skystar Wheel

We’ll have to go ride it sometime in the near future. We walked by a new mural work in progress. Probably for the upcoming BLINK Cincinnati festivities

We stopped at Holiday Spiritsย in Over-the-Rhine for a drink…

And saw the great Zoltar…

And we made it back to Northside Tavern to try to shoot a game of pool…

But all the tables were taken…

It was a really fun night. ๐Ÿ˜€๐Ÿบโค๏ธ

Fishbowl at the Banks.

This afternoon we rode the Metro 17 bus downtown and then walked down to The Banks before this evening’s pre-season Cyclones hockey game. We wanted to stop into checkout the new Fishbowl at The Banks

All of their drinks are served in fishbowls and are meant to be shared…

We decided to share a White Claw Wave…

It was pretty good stuff. And Fishbowl is a pretty fun place. It would be a really fun place to go with a group of friends.ย ๐Ÿ˜€๐ŸŸโค๏ธ

Dogberry Brewing Company.

After the Liberty Fall Festival, we managed to findย Dogberry Brewing Companyย out in West Chester…

We were drawn in by their Supernova and it’s variants that we saw on Untappd

And they have a Beer It Forward wall, which I think is just the coolest thing…

We tried Dogbeery’sย Campfire Story Mildly Smoked Porter, Supernova Chocolate Stout, Supernova Vanilla Nitro,ย and Supernova Raspberry Habanero

And then we each had a full Supernova, Genifer had the Raspberry Habanero and I had the Vanilla Nitro…

Dogberry has some pretty darn good beers. ๐Ÿ˜€๐Ÿถ๐Ÿ“๐Ÿบโค๏ธ

Out and about in OtR.

After the Reds game, we rode the streetcar up into Over-the-Rhine to check out one of OtR’s newer bars called Homemakers

We just stayed for a drink but Homemakers seemed like a pretty relaxed place. Very, very retro. We also walked over to check out Longfellow’s Other Room

Longfellow’s Other Room is a rum bar with hundreds and hundreds of rums…

Longfellow’s Other Room tasted like a tropical vacation to me because I always drink rum when we’re on vacation. I could very easily see it becoming one of my favorite bars in OtR.

It seems like there’s always something new to check out in Over-the-Rhine. ๐Ÿ˜€๐Ÿฅƒโค๏ธ

Octoberfest Zinzinnati 2019.

This weekend was Oktoberfest Zinzinnati 2019 weekend in downtown Cincinnati…

And this afternoon, we went downtown to check it out…

Last year, we didn’t go to Oktoberfest at all.

I tried this brat with curry sauce…

It was really good. Something a little bit different. Also a little bit different was the Halo from Busken Bakery…

A Halo is a warm Buskey glazed donut stuffed with ice cream and then hot pressed…

I got the Crown Jewel stuffed with Graeter’s Black Raspberry Chocolate Chip ice cream…

Ohmigosh. It was sooo good.

Next year, we’re taking advantage of this offer, if they do it again…

We made one slow meandering lap of the Oktoberfest. We had a couple of beers and had another brat or two in there. It was fun. Not nearly as much fun all the Oktoberfests as when we used to live downtown. But it was still pretty fun.

PROST! ๐Ÿ˜€๐Ÿ‡ฉ๐Ÿ‡ช๐Ÿบ๐ŸŒญโค๏ธ

Sam Adams Taproom.

We stopped at Sam Adams Taproom after work this evening…

We really like Sam Adams Taproom. ๐Ÿ˜€๐Ÿบโค๏ธ

Making the rounds in OtR.

This afternoon, we rode the Metro 17 bus down into Over-the-Rhine. We found a gift card that still had some money on it. So we headed to Taft’s Ale House for lunch. We haven’t been to Taft’s Ale House since our friend Chris’s birthday. Anymore it seems we just always go to Taft’s Brewpouriumย which is just around the corner from our house over on Spring Grove. We didn’t realize just how long it had been. It’s been so long they’ve built a whole new condo community at Race and Fourteenth Streets…

Hello, beautiful. Taft’s Ale House is so pretty…

When we were crossing the street, we saw another one of those #CincyStreetBots

I’ve really been digging Taft’s Cold Boy

Genifer ordered Taft’s Chicken Avocado Salad

And Saratoga chips with ranch…

I ordered two of Taft’s tri-tip sliders…

With tots and beer cheese…

And Taft’s had bread pudding. I love bread pudding. So I had to order it…

Taft’s is soooo good. Everything was delicious. Especially the bread pudding.

From Taft’s, we walked down to Washington Park to check out the last half hour or so of September’s edition of The City Flea

There were a couple of really dope hats at this Flea…

From Washinton Park, we started walking in the direction of Findlay Market. We walked by a few murals that I hadn’t seen before…

TAG! You’re it…

Findlay Market…

And then we walked over to Sam Adams Cincy Taproom

They were hosting their Oktoberfest…

We hung out for a minute but it was all sort of winding down. So we headed back over to Race Street to check out the new Goose+Elder

I love the restaurant bathroom trend of using wild floral print wallpapers…

Hi. And the other bathroom…

We had a White Russian…

And we ordered just a couple of little small plates to share like their watermelon…

And their mac&cheese…

Terrific stuff. I can’t wait to come back to eat a full meal at Goose+Elder…

Then we hopped in an Uber and headed home. It was a great afternoon in OtR. ๐Ÿ˜€๐Ÿ™๏ธโค๏ธ

An evening out in Northside.

We went out to Northside Tavern this evening for a drink…

We love Northside Tavern. On the way home, we got slices from Kitchen Factory

Kitchen Factory has some outstanding slices.

We love Northside. ๐Ÿ˜€๐Ÿฅƒ๐Ÿ•โค๏ธ

Fiery Hen.

Because it’s Thursday, we stopped to check out the relatively new, Fiery Hen,ย it’s just a couple of doors down from Queen City Exchange on Court Street…

Genifer tried one of their cocktails but I don’t remember which one…

I had a $2 Miller High Life. It’s the champagne of beers…

We started with some delicious Pimento Cheese Croquettes…

Genifer had the Chef salad with grilled chicken…

And I ordered the chicken tenders with fries…

You got to pick your spice level. I chose the second mildest, Nashville Mild. It still had a bit of kick. Next time, I’m going to get the least spicy, Yella Belly. And your choice of fries or saratoga chips and ranch or blue cheese. Obviously, I got fries and ranch. Everything was outstanding. I can’t wait to come back to Fiery Hen for more tenders. Because I really love chicken tenders. And these tenders were awesome.ย ๐Ÿ˜€๐Ÿฅ—๐Ÿ”๐ŸŸโค๏ธ
