Smile for burgers!
I had an early afternoon meeting. When my meeting was over, Genifer got home from work super early. And we got to have lunch together. We had leftover cheeseburgers from the grill from a couple days ago…
My cheeseburger had a smile one it…
And we had some curly fries with burgers…
YUM! What a great lunch. Especially since I got to eat cheeseburgers and french fries with my baby. For lunch. 😀🍔🍟❤️

We had another one of the Kroger Prep+Pared Home Chef Express meals for dinner tonight. This one was Hoisin Pulled Pork with jasmine rice…
It was really good. There was a really delicious sauce on the pulled pork…
It could have used a little bit more of that sauce to drizzle over the top. But overall, it was another delicious dinner.
We really like the Kroger Prep+Pared Home Chef Express meal kits a lot. 😀🐷🥣❤️

Afternoon in our backyard.
It was so gorgeous outside this afternoon. The weather tablet in our office said it was an unseasonably warm 87º outside…
Oscar’s groomer was deemed non-essential when the closed all the Ohio businesses. He’s gotten so shaggy over the six weeks. And you could tell lately he’s just been really warm and uncomfortable…
So this afternoon we tried to give Oscar a haircut…
I’ve cut my hair twice so far during the stay home. It’s turned out pretty nice both times.
I thought, “How hard could it be to cut Oscar’s hair?”
It turns out that cutting Oscar’s hair is a lot harder…
I didn’t do a very good job. At all…
Dang. Sorry, buddy. I have a new respect for the amazing job Lauren at VCA College Hill does with Oscar.
Later, we fired up the grill again…
Those burgers were just out of this world. 😀🐾🍔🌭❤️
UPDATE: Oscar’s groomer has started to take appointments again starting May 13th and he has an appointment for Friday, May 15th. So he won’t have to be uncomfortable for much longer and maybe she can even out the mess I made of his coat.

COVID-19 Carryout: Django Western Taco.
This evening we went to get some carry out from Django Western Taco to celebrate the nine-year anniversary of our very first date…
We shared chips & salsa, a jerk chicken quesadilla and an order of churros…
And I ordered two fried chicken tacos with pimento cheese…
Everything was delicious. We love Django Western Taco so much. 😀🌮❤️

Slow down and grill.
We fired up the grill again this evening…
First, we grilled some marinated chicken breasts and onions…
And then we grilled some burgers…
And finally, hot dogs and bacon-wrapped jalapeno poppers…
We had a huge grilled feast for dinner…
And the jalapeno poppers were delicious too!
YUM! Everything always tastes better on the grill. 😀🐔🌭🍔🥓🌶️❤️

Things are getting a bit better?
It was really nice this morning. Genifer and I drove over to get Sidewinder Coffee before she left for the office and before I headed upstairs to get to work.
And this morning, Sidewinder had new cinnamon rolls and I got the last one…
It was a really good cinnamon roll. Not as good as the original cinnamon twists that Sidewinder used to have. Those were some of the best cinnamon rolls I’ve ever had. But this one was pretty darn good. It reminded me a lot of the cinnamon muffin we shared at Overeasy in Dallas. 😀☕️❤️
But maybe, just maybe, this was a little sign that things are starting to return to normal just a little bit.

We had another one of the Kroger Prep+Pared Home Chef Express meals for dinner tonight. This one was Creamy Chili Verde Chicken Penne with corn&poblano peppers…
It was another really delicious Kroger Prep+Pared Home Chef Express meal. Their meals always combine such interesting ingredients. The creamy chili verde pasta with chicken and corn was all very tasty. And it had just the right amount of spicy. It was really good.
We really like the Kroger Prep+Pared Home Chef Express meal kits a lot. 😀🍜🐔❤️

COVID-19 Carryout: Taft’s Brewpourium.
After working on our front yard this afternoon, we ran over to Taft’s Brewpourium to support one of Northside favorites…
On Saturdays and Sunday, Taft’s Brewpourium has a special for a large two-topping pizza and a growler for just $27…
Our pizza and growler was ready and waiting for us…
Our growler was filler with one of our favorites, Taft’s Hazy Colada…
We also picked up a six-pack of Taft’s new beer, Love in the Tub…
It’s a peanut butter mocha pie stout. It was incredible! And proceeds went to Taft’s Team Relief Fund to help currently out of work employees…
Our large pepperoni and sausage pizza was incredible too…
And we ate the entire thing. The Brewpourium is one of our favorite places. And we’ve missed it so much. We’re going to have to get another New Haven style pizza again very, very soon. 😀🍕🍻❤️
