Apollo 11, dinosaurs & Museum Center.

After getting my license renewed, we headed over Cincinnati Museum Center

The last time we were here the rotunda was still undergoing a massive renovation

Museum Center was hosting the final stop of an exhibit from the Smithsonian Institution Traveling Exhibition Service called Destination Moon: The Apollo 11 Mission all about the Apollo 11 moon landing…

First, we found The Neil Armstrong Space Exploration Gallery, a new permanent exhibit that celebrates the legacy of the historic Apollo 11 mission…

The gallery is centered around a 360-degree immersive theater experience, transporting guests to the excitement and trepidation of the summer of 1969…

And then we found the Destination Moon exhibit, we had walked right by it…

On July 24, 1969, the Apollo 11 mission met President Kennedy’s 1961 challenge of “landing a man on the Moon and returning him safely to the earth” before the end of the decade. Destination Moon: The Apollo 11 Mission explores and honors that great achievement using genuine flown artifacts from the Apollo 11 mission on loan from the National Air and Space Museum. Featuring the Apollo command module Columbia — the only portion of the historic spacecraft to survive the lunar journey — the exhibition explores the birth and development of the American space program and the space race in time for the 50th anniversary of humankind’s greatest scientific achievement.

Destination Moon gives guest the rare opportunity to see artifacts that made the 953,000-mile journey possible, like Buzz Aldrin’s gold-plated extravehicular helmet visor and thermal-insulated gloves. The dizzying star chart that helped Neil Armstrong, Buzz Aldrin and Michael Collins navigate the historic journey and the rucksack and survival kit that accompanied the astronauts are also included.

The star of the exhibition was the Columbia command module, on display outside the National Air and Space Museum for the first time since 1976…

It’s the only part of the Apollo 11 spacecraft to return intact to Earth. It was the three-person crew’s living quarters for most of the mission, from Cape Kennedy to the Moon’s orbit, to splashdown in the Pacific Ocean…

I really love space stuff. And it was a truly amazing exhibit!

I also wanted to see Cincinnati Museum Center’s new Dinosaur Hall in the Museum of Natural History & Science

And we explored the limestone cave

We also wandered through the Public Landing in the Cincinnati History Museum

Cincinnati Museum Center is such an incredible Cincinnati gem…

I’m so glad it was restored to all its former glory…

I couldn’t think of a better way to spend my birthday! Apollo 11, dinosaurs, caves and the public landing all inside of historic Union Terminal. And the best part was… it was all older than me. And it made me feel so young at heart. What more could you ask for on your birthday? 😀🌕🦕❤️

Happy birthday to me!

Today was my birthday! We both took the day off work. Because the only thing worse than a Wednesday birthday is having to go to work on a Wednesday birthday…

We started our day with some Biggby coffees

And then we went over to the BMV around the corner from Biggby on Red Bank Road to get the new tags for our Jetta and I had to renew my license this year…

We got our tags. I renewed my license. And I passed my vision test… without having to use my glasses! That’s a pretty good thing because last week, I cracked my glasses in two when I was putting my laptop into my backpack one morning…

Bummer about my glasses. Hooray for renewing my license without them.

After we got the BMV out of the way, we could have some birthday fun. 😀☕️👓❤️

NYPD Pizza party!

We had another NYPD Pizza party tonight! We stopped to pick up some pizza and wings on our way home from work…

NYPD Pizza is always so delicious! It was a pretty great way to start celebrating my birthday a little bit early! 😀🍕❤️

Happy National Plan for Vacation Day!

Today is National Plan for Vacation Day! And we planned a vacation to go to Paradise Island in Nassau, Bahamas at the end of February…

We’ll be staying at Warwick Paradise Island – Bahamas. And we’re so very excited!
😀🏖️❤️

3 years and 11 months.

Today is our 3 year and 11 month anniversary

Next month will be the four year anniversary of when I married the love of my life in Jamaica. I love you so much, baby! Thanks, Timehop!😀😍🥰🦕❤️

But then there’s you.

I love Milk & Mocha Bear so much. 😀🐻❤️

Sunday Sunday Sunday.

This morning we got up early to go to get groceries from Kroger but first, we stopped for our Sunday morning Biggby coffee

Today, Genifer got a Hot Golden Honey Oat Milk Latte but she got it without the coffee…

We learned that if you order a latte without the coffee, it’s called a steamer. You really do learn something new every day. I got my Cocoa Carmella hot chocolate with a little butterscotch added to it. I get the same thing every single time…

Later, we drove out to West Chester to have lunch at B-Dubs with Geri. I had to get my free snack sized wings for my upcoming birthday. Lunch was really good. I’m not fancy. I really like B-Dubs. And we came home and walked the dogs around the block…

And then we watched a couple more episodes of 11.22.63 on Hulu. But first, we just had to find a place on our own bed…

It was another pretty relaxing Sunday. Just the way we like it. 😀☕️🐔📺❤️

#TBT Pause for paws.

Remember that time when Milan and I were walking in downtown Cincinnati by P&G’s daycare, and Milan thought a plush dog in the window was a real dog?

Milan was the friendliest dog. Always remembering all the good times with the bud dog. 😀🐾🦕❤️

Another rainy Saturday.

This morning we woke up early again to head over to Trader Joe’s before it got too crazy busy on Saturday. The later it gets, the busier it gets. We usually try to get to Trader Joe’s as close to 8am when it open as we can. This morning was our best time
so far. We pulled into their parking lot at 8:02am…

I just thought that little berry bunny was pretty cute. We didn’t get any frozen chocolate cover strawberry pieces though. I wonder if they would be good?

After we were done getting groceries at TJ’s, we headed over to get our Saturday morning coffee at Biggby

Biggby is our reward for getting up and getting groceries out of the way. We both got hot chocolates this morning. Biggby had more student artwork on display on their walls. I really liked the hills with the watercolor skies…

The owl and the elephant were really great too…

And if we had a daughter and named her Niala…

She would be Niala Fiala. Maybe Niala could be a middle name.

Later, we went over to Taft’s Brewpourium for another lunch with our gift cards we got for Christmas…

Taft’s had a new Hazelnut Latte Coffee Milk Stout on tap…

And it was really delicious. We watched the Michigan-Illinois game on our little tablet. We shared a small pizza with pepperoni, sausage and banana peppers…

We also shared some of Taft’s chicken wings…

We had six buffalo wings and six Cherrywood BBQ wings…

I think I really like the Cherrywood BBQ the best. But they’re both really good. And even though, Michigan lost. Again. It was a great lunch. We just love Taft’s pizza and wings.

Later, we started watching a series called 11.22.63 on Hulu. It’s pretty good so far. And even though it was another rainy day, it was another pretty good Saturday. 😀🌨️❤️

Good evening from Northside.

The sky was so pretty this evening as the Metro 17 bus was crossing over the Mill Creek bridge into Northside…

And then later in the evening from atop the hill at the end of our street…

Good evening from Northside. 😀🌄❤️
