Delirium Night at HG.

Tonight at Higher Gravity, it was Delirium Night featuring both Delirium Tremens and Delerium Red. Delerium is that beer with the pink elephant that is really good. In fact, Delirium Tremens is one of the best beers I’ve ever had in my life. So we were pretty excited to also get to try Red as well…

Tremens was every bit as good as we remember it. Red would have been really good but it paled in comparison next to Tremens. (Ha. Because it’s also lighter than Tremens🤪). But Tremens is just plain amazing. It’s ridiculous just how good it is. Oh, and we got the keep these cool Delerium glasses…

After trying both beers, we stopped at Chameleon for a slice of pizza. It was a pretty fun Thursday. We haven’t been to HG in a quick second. It was great to hang out for a bit. 😀🍺🐘❤️

Deskey chili cookoff.

At work today, there was a Deskey chili cookoff

There were even celebrity guest judges from Arnold’s because everything has to be a dang competition…

And Becky was the winner with her #4 chili…

And then there were cupcakes for January birthdays…

And we also revealed our Deskey Secret Valentines. It made for a pretty fun afternoon. 😀🖐️❤️

Downtown details.

You know what I think would be interesting? I think it would be really interesting to photograph all the storefronts in downtown Cincinnati and Over-the-Rhine. Even since we’ve left downtown there have been a lot of places that have closed their doors for good and there have been even more places that have opened, either in those spaces or in new spaces. It would be an interesting study in the continual evolution of urban spaces particularly downtown Cincinnati. How long before something new moves into this space on Main Street and the Spatz Foods sign is gone forever? We would walk by this sign every time we headed out to do something when we lived downtown…

Downtown Cincinnati is in a state of continual change and it’d beat really neat to have the time to document those changes and downtown details better. 😀🏙️❤️

Thirsty Thursday: QCE, NSD & NYPD.

After work, we stopped back at Queen City Exchange for a beer…

It’s such a fun place with so many great beers. Then we walked across the street to have a drink at our other new favorite place, Northside Distilling

I love their cocktail called The Dude. It’s their take on a White Russian…

It’s delicious. And speakingof delicious, on the way home we stopped at NYPD to pick up one of their delicious cheese pizzas for dinner…

I really love Thursdays. 😀🍺🥃🍕❤️

It’s a sign.

We saw this sign for a new Cambodian restaurant in Northside called Mahope

I’ve never had Cambodian food before. And I can’t wait to try it sometime soon. 😀❤️

Seen and noted: It’s a sign.

We saw this sign on Hamilton Avenue today a just few doors down from our beloved Sidewinder Coffee

It’s always exciting when a new place is set to move into the neighborhood. 😀☕️❤️

Lunch at Sacred Beast.

We went down into Over-the-Rhine for some holiday shopping this afternoon but first, we stopped at new diner spot, Sacred Beast for lunch…

It’s really nice inside…

We ordered a bunch of food…

I ordered the crispy chicken with dipping sauces…

We shared a side order of fries…

Genifer ordered a single cheeseburger…

And apparently, the single cheeseburger has TWO patties! The double cheeseburger has three patties. That’s crazy! Oh, and we also added a side order of onion rings…

Holy geez. Everything was so delicious and awesome! We ate every last bite. And we were so stuffed. We can’t wait to come back for more at Sacred Beast. 😀🐐❤️

Chocolate mint stout and empanadas.

After work this evening, I hopped the Cincinnati Metro 11 bus…

I rode the eleven up to East Walnut Hills…

I met her just around the corner from her work at Woodburn Brewery. Because we saw that Woodburn had their Chocolate Mint Imperial Stout back on tap. It’s the beer that tastes just like a Girl Scouts Thin Mint cookie…

There were also empanadas from Che. I really love empanadas…

We got the trio of empanadas. We tried the beef, Cuban and pepperoni empanadas…

All of them were very good but the traditional beef empanada is always my favorite.

I was a fun Friday evening with great empanadas and a pretty outstanding beer. We’ll have to do this again soon. 😀🍺❤️

It’s a sign.

It’s a sign for Bay Horse Cafe on Main Street. 😀🐎❤️

It’s a sign.

Even though the business has closed it’s doors, I hope this sign hangs above Vine Street in downtown Cincinnati forever. 😀⚠️❤️
