Another pretty good, low-key Saturday.

Good morning from Northside…

We ran over to Lowe’s this morning…

We got some more Christmas lights but not the lights we wanted because most of the lights were already sold out. And we got paint for our third-floor bedroom.

On the way home, we stopped at Mad Llama for coffee and a Java Whip!

When we got home, I got to open day five of my Lego City Advent Calendar…

Genifer worked on painting our third-floor bedroom. She’s been on a real painting kick lately. She had it looking really good. But she’s really good at painting. I am not good.
At all.

We had a really late lunch. And we just had leftovers. We ate the rest of the delicious chicken marinated in Trader Joe’s Island Soyaki and Genifer made more stuffing. And it made so much stuffing…

I’m guessing we’re going to have stuffing with every meal for a while. And I’m really good with that. Because I love stuffing!

We watched Western Michigan lose their unbeaten football season to Eastern Michigan. Bummer.

And then, we took the dog’s out on a walk around the block…

Good evening from Northside…

We added these lights around the banister on our front porch….

Later, we watched Don’t Listen. It was one of those really weird movies that just left us with a lot of unaswered questions. It was weird. But other that Western loss and the silly movie, it was just another pretty good, low-key Saturday. πŸ˜€πŸŒ„β˜•οΈπŸ”πŸˆπŸ“Ίβ€οΈ

HOORAY! It’s Friday!

HOORAY! It’s Friday! It was a little chilly and a little grey this morning…

Good morning from Northside…

And it was time for day four of my Lego City Advent Calendar…

How fun is Lego stuff? I got all my work done for the day and finished my timesheets for the week.

And then it was good evening from Northside…

It was a very pretty December evening.

For dinner tonight, Genifer made chicken marinated in Trader Joe’s Island Soyaki with baked sweet potatoes and we finished the rest of the Thanksgiving stuffing….

It was such a great meal. The Trader Joe’s Island Soyaki is a teriyaki sauce/marinade that mkes anything taste like the most out of this world, outstandingly good stuff.

None of my teams were playing their sports tonight…

And as a result, we got to watch A Christmas Catch tonight on Netflix. It was pretty cheesy and not very good. It wasn’t as bad as one of the other movies we watched, Hometown Holiday but it was still far from good. Both seemed like they were Hallmark movie rejects. πŸ˜€πŸŒ„πŸ”πŸ“Ίβ€οΈ

Thank goodness it’s Friday.

Headlines are hard.

I feel like coming up with the headlines for these blog posts is the hardest part. Especially when we do the same thing pretty much everyday and every day is pretty much the same.

We were out on our morning walk and the sun just started rising above the trees…

Good morning from Northside…

And the moon was still out too…

And it was time for day two of my Lego City Advent Calendar…

While I was working this afternoon, I listened to the Chelsea-Sevilla Champions League match. And one of my favorite ex-Arsenal players, Olivier Giroud scored all four of Chelsea’s goals.

And fast forward through the rest of the work day to this evening. For dinner tonight, we hadΒ another one of the Kroger Prep+Pared Home Chef Express meals. This meal was Hot Honey Pork Chops with shaved Brussels sprouts, corn, and poblano preppers…

And it was another delicious dinner. The hot honey butter on the chops was amazing. The vegetables were really tasty too. The poblano pepper added just a little bit of heat to the veggies. It was another really great meal. We like theΒ Kroger Prep+Pared Home Chef Express meal kitsΒ a lot.

And good evening from Northside…

Later, we flipped back and forth between Michigan-Ball State and Xavier-Tennessee Tech basketball games. And both teams won. It was another pretty good Wednesday. πŸ˜€πŸŒ„πŸ²β€οΈ

The first snow.

It was another Monday. And Mondays usually mean that it’s going to be another grey and rainy morning in Northside…

And it was cold outside too.

You can’t really tell from these photos but this morning it was raining hard enough that the dogs didn’t even want to go outside on their walk. We had to pretty much drag them out of the house and down to the end of the street so they would potty.

Mondays are tough. I feel like they are the busiest days of the week. When I look back at my photos to do a blog post for almost any Monday, there are never any photos from during the day. There are photos from our morning dog walk and then it jumps straight to photos from the evening dog walk.

And today was no different. This afternoon it started snowing. Our very first snow of the season. The snow was starting to accumulate on top of the cars on our street…

It started really snowing on our walk…

Good evening from Northside…

There was more snow on the Jetta when we got back from going around the block…

But the snow wasn’t starting to accumulate on the grass yet…

For dinner tonight, Genifer made turkey meatloaf…

She also made instant mashed potatoes and I finished the last of the Thanksgiving mac&cheese…

And it was delicious. We ate the entire meatloaf. It’s kind of a bummer because I was looking forward to a meatloaf sammich for lunch tomorrow.

When we got upstairs, I was trying to work on our blog but Flickr was having a case of the Mondays as well…

8 Tonight, we watched Xavier squeak out a win against Eastern Kentucky. Then we fell asleep. We always end up falling asleep pretty early on Mondays. πŸ˜€πŸŒ„πŸŒ§οΈβ„οΈπŸ€β€οΈ

Our Thanksgiving.

Our Thanksgiving got off to a overcast and rainy start…

Good morning from Northside…

After the Arsenal won their Europa League match, we drove out to West Chester to have Thanksgiving with Geri. It was just the three of us this year.

Oops… forgot the gravy…

We had a wonderful Thanksgiving dinner with Geri. We spent the afternoon with out in West Chester. We helped with her Christmas decorations and watched the Cowboys lose. Again. It was very nice, low-key Thanksgiving.

When we got back to Northside, we took the dogs on a walk…

And good Thanksgiving evening from Northside…

We had a really nice Thanksgiving. We hope everyone had a very nice, and safe Thanksgiving as well. πŸ˜€πŸ¦ƒβ€οΈ

We made it through another Monday.

Good morning from Northside…

And fast forward to this evening. For dinner tonight, we had another one of the Kroger Prep+Pared Home Chef Express meals for dinner tonight. This one was Parmesan Pork Chops with pesto broccoli…

And it was another delicious dinner. The pork chop was so cheesy and the pesto broccoli was really good. Broccoli is one of my favorite vegetables. And it was topped with crispy red peppers. They were tasty. It was one of the better meals. We like the Kroger Prep+Pared Home Chef Express meal kits a lot.

We took the dogs on their walk and the moon was really bright tonight…

Good evening from Northside…

We made it through another Monday. πŸ˜€πŸŒ„πŸ½οΈβ€οΈ

A very pretty Thursday.

It’s Thursday. We’ve almost made it through another week…

Good morning from Northside…

Fast forward through the work day to the sunset this evening in our backyard…

Genifer made these turkey mushroom stuffed acorn squash for dinner…

And they were delicious! She always finds the best recipes to make.

After dinner, we went back out in our backyard to check on the sunset…

And then we took the dogs around the block. There was a big X is the sky…

Good evening from Northside…

Tonight, I was trying a different camera app. I was looking for an app that made it easier to control the contrast because I thought some of my photos have looked washed out lately. Now, these feel a little too dark. Β―\_(ツ)_/Β―

Later, we watched the Thursday night football game. While we were watching the game, I remembered something I heard one of the announcers say during last week’s Thursday night football game…

Last time I checked, points aid in one’s pursuit of a win when playing a game that a score is kept.

It totally sounds like something Joe Buck would say.

Today was also my 888th Timehop in a row…

And in my 888th Timehop in a row was one of my favorite gifts we ever received, our Cincinnati Reds All-Star Legacy Brick

We had another pretty good Thursday. πŸ˜€πŸŒ„πŸΎπŸ½οΈπŸ¦•πŸ§±β€οΈ

And we’re back at it.

It’s Monday morning. And for once, we had a Monday morning that wasn’t rainy. It made it a little bit easier to get out of bed this morning…

Good morning from Northside…

And then it was time to get back to work…

A really big project got underway last week while we were kicking it on the beach. It’s probably going to keep me pretty busy for a while.

For dinner tonight, we had another one of the Kroger Prep+Pared Home Chef Express meals for dinner tonight. This one was Korean Pork Chop with bok choy and pepper lo mein…

They changed their packaging. But they didn’t change the deliciousness…

And it was another delicious dinner. The noodles and the sauce were terrific. And the pork chop was really good too. But I could eaten a huge bowl of just those noodles. They were tasty. We like theΒ Kroger Prep+Pared Home Chef Express meal kits a lot.

Good evening from Northside…

The time change is still really messing with me. It gets dark so early now. These photos were taken just before 6:45pm. It feels like it’s 11pm…

But we made it through our Monday. Genifer fell asleep pretty early and I started watching For All Mankind on Apple TV. It reminds me a bit of The Man in the High Castle by presenting a “what if the United States hadn’t won?” scenario. For all Mankind dramatizes an alternate history depicting “what would have happened if the global space race had never ended” after the Soviet Union put a man on the Moon ahead of the United States, and where would the world be now. I think it’s pretty interesting.

We made it! It’s Skyline time!

All we had to do was make it through today, and tomorrow we’d be off to North Carolina for the week…

We walked down the path on the top of the hill to watch the sunrise…

There was a very faint pink streak across the sky this morning…

Good morning from Northside…

We finally made it through our day. We wrapped up all our lose ends and I finished up our projects the best we could. After work, we ran a couple of errands to get a few things for our trip. And on our way home, we stopped to get Skyline carry-out for dinner tonight…

Skyline is sooo good. It’s pretty annoying how early it gets dark now…

Good evening from Northside…

We are pretty much all packed and set to go on our road trip tomorrow morning. We just have to drop off Mack at the kennel and then we are on our way! πŸ˜€πŸŒ„πŸ§€πŸŒβ€οΈ

Our Election Day.

We got up extra early this morning to walk over to North Presbyterian Church on Hamilton Avenue in Northside so Genifer could vote…

I dropped off my absentee ballot at the Board of Elections last week.

The polls opened at 6:30am this morning. We got there just a little before 6:00am and Genifer was second in line…

As we stood waiting for the polls to open, the line steadily grew behind us…

Genifer got to cast her vote. And we were over at Sidewinder to get coffee by 6:45am…

Sidewinder had cinnamon rolls this morning too…

My office was closed today for the election so everyone could vote. And Genifer had a pretty light day with her work. So later, we walked back down Hamilton Avenue to Blue Jay for lunch…

Genifer had a five-way and fries for lunch…

And I had Blue Jay’s chicken tender sammich with cheese…

I love that dang sammich. Blue Jay is so good. We don’t eat there enough.

We enjoyed the rest of our Election Day by not doing much of anything. We played in our backyard for a bit…

And we went on our evening walk around the block…

Good evening from Northside…

For dinner, I ate a carry out five-way and a cheese coney I got from Blue Jay…

This evening we went out of our way to avoid any news about the Election. I don’t think we’re going to know the final results any time soon. I just hope everything turns out for the best and that competent adults start running the country again. πŸ˜€πŸŒ„πŸ—³οΈβ˜•οΈπŸπŸŒβ€οΈ
