Slow down and Sunday.

Happy Sunday! Good morning from Northside…

Here’s another photo our new hose, still without any leaks…

Genifer made cupcakes this afternoon…

But before we ate cupcakes, we took the time to slow down and grill…

We were about to grill up a whole bunch of good stuff…

Why does everything always taste sooo good off the grill?

Recently, we stopped buying hamburger and hot dog buns. We could never eat them all and we would end up throwing a bunch of them away. We found this sweet Hawaiian bread that we really like. It’s really tasty. We’ve just been using that bread for just about much everything. And now, we don’t waste a bunch of buns!

After we finished eating our grilled feat, we went back out in our backyard to play some ball. It was a really pretty afternoon…

Oscar doesn’t really play a lot in the backyard. He prefers to go on walks instead of running around in the backyard. The only time he really runs in the backyard is if a squirrel wanders into our backyard. Mostly, he just likes to sit on the patio and take it all in. But sometimes, he’ll leave his patio and go out and sit out in the sun…

Later, we went on our evening dog walk…

Thursdays are for pizza parties.

Look at these beautiful clouds that were hovering over Northside this morning…

We got to the top of the hill at the end of our street and I was lucky enough to get this photo of our little family minus me and the cat…

This morning we walked over Sidewinder to get coffee…

Good evening from Northside…

This evening we had an NYPD Pizza party. And NYPD got their awning back…

We got two medium pizzas tonight…

Genifer got her pepperoni and banana pepper pizza…

I had been wanted to try the NYPD’s Crimebuster…

The Crimebuster is NYPD’s almost everything pizza, loaded with pepperoni, sausage, ham, bacon, ground beef, mushrooms, onions, green peppers and green olives…

And it was delicious. It reminded me a lot of the pizza we had in Louisville. We love NYPD Pizza. And then we played ball in the backyard for another 30 minutes…

Pizza parties make Thursdays pretty darn awesome. 😀🗓️🍕❤️

An early autumn Wednesday?

So far the weather has been almost autumn-like all week. It was only supposed to reach a high of 79º today. This morning was chilly enough to wear a hoodie while we were taking the dogs on their morning walk. And it felt like we should be getting ready for college football this weekend. (Like there’s going to be college football this year.)

Still, it was a very pretty morning…

And good morning from Northside…

I realized that I never posted any photos of our freshly painted living room…

The living room turned out so nice. Genifer did such an amazing job with the painting! We’re looking to get a new sofa with a new, bigger TV and TV stand for our living room so we can hang out in our living room more.

And good evening from Northside…

We had BLTs for dinner again. We love BLTs. I had a BLT wrap. It was terrific…

Genifer went out to lunch at Taste of Belgium with coworkers today. And she brought home a oatmeal raisin cookie and brownie for us to share for dessert…

The icing on the cookie was so good…

And the brownie was more like fudge than brownie. It was very rich…

We played ball in our backyard for a half hour tonight…

All the dogs were so tuckered out afterwards. Mack always crashes out in the weirdest, most uncomfortable looking positions…

And when we got upstairs, Oscar made his way under the sofa. Almost…

It was another pretty good Wednesday. 😀🗓️❤️

A case of the Mondays.

There was a pretty sunrise this morning…

Good morning from Northside…

It was started out as another slightly overcast day…

Bear was crashed out with me in the office all day…

And we had delicious Mongolian meatball ramen for dinner…

But it turned out to be a very pretty evening…

And then we played some ball in our backyard…

The Reds beat the Indians 3-2. And we started watching Dexter on Netflix. It was a pretty good Monday as far as Mondays go. 😀🗓️❤️

Hooray! It’s Friday.

Dang. Yet another grey morning in Northside…

Good morning from Northside…

Before we started work, we ran over to Kroger for some groceries…

Have you seen these digital advertising strips on the displays at the end of the aisles?

I should have taken a video of them. But I’ve been yelled at so many times for taking photos in Kroger that I get a little gun shy. They were fully animated with varied advertising messages. They were really cool. But they weren’t nearly as cool as these monster candles…

Kroger had the panda and the train again today in the international aisle…

And they had fun unicorn balloons…

Seen and noted were these Wendy’s Baconator Pringles chips…

They don’t sound good to me. But what about some Halloween candy?

Why wouldn’t there be Halloween Reese’s Cups pumpkins in the grocery on July 31st?

We had delicious BLTs for dinner…

We’ve been on a real BLT kick lately. Probably because BLTs are so delicious.

And this evening it was still grey…

Taco Tuesday!

It was a very pretty Tuesday morning…

Good morning from Northside…

Today was a silly busy workday. We had Taco Tuesday tacos for dinner tonight…

I promise there were actually hard shell tacos under that massive pile of delicious shredded taco cheese. And then we took the dogs on their evening walk…

There were pretty clouds this evening…

If you look really close in the center just above the lower group of clouds, there was a plane flying on a really low trajectory that planes don’t usually fly on…

And here’s another one with the plane just to the left of the branch extending into the middle of the frame…

It’s weird how when you live someplace for a bit, you notice odd things like planes flying at weird altitudes and in strange directions.

Good evening from Northside…

It was a pretty low-key Tuesday. But the tacos were delicious! 😀🌮❤️

Later in the evening, my Minnesota United knocked Columbus Crew out of the MLS is Back tournament with what was probably the most clinical penalty shoot-out I’ve ever seen. MNUFC didn’t miss a single spot-kick. It was a thing of beauty. And then FC Cincinnati took Portland Timbers to a penalty shootout as well. But FC|C was not nearly as clinical as the Loons, and were knocked out the tournament with their heads held high after their tenacious performance. This tournament has been so much fun.

The last Monday in July.

Today is the last Monday in July. How crazy is that? I guess time flies when you sit home and rarely leave the house for four months.

This morning there were actually clouds in the sky for the sunrise…

Most of the mornings recently haven’t had any clouds in the sky for the sunrise. I think the breaking morning light on the clouds is what make the sunrise so pretty.

Good morning from Northside…

See? Not a cloud in the sky again…

This morning I buzzed the grass in our little front yard before I started work…

I swept our sidewalk to make the photo look nicer…

Here’s one from the other end of little front yard…

Our little shrub has a bunch of blossoms on it now…

On my way back inside the morning light was so pretty filling our living room, I stopped to take a couple of photos of our freshly painted living room walls…

Our living room looks so pretty. Genifer did such an amazing job with the painting!

For dinner tonight, we had the tortilla crusted BBQ chicken with cheesy potatoes and corn Kroger Prep+Pared Home Chef Express meal kit again. They changed the label design on the packaging for the Kroger Prep+Pared Home Chef Express…

It’s a really delicious meal. Even though we completely forgot to put the tortilla strips on our chicken. There hasn’t be much variation in the Prep+Pared meals at Kroger lately. I think this is the third time we’ve had this meal. We really like the Kroger Prep+Pared Home Chef Express meal kits a lot. But I hope next time we go to the grocery there are some new options.

This evening the clouds moved in and it got pretty overcast…

And good evening from Northside…

Of course when we got to the top of the hill, it started sprinkling…

It was a fitting end to another Monday. 😀🗓️❤️

Our Sunday on repeat.

It looked like it was going to be a very pretty Sunday. Good morning from Northside…

There wasn’t a cloud in the sky this morning…

With MLB baseball back, our natural inclination was, “Dang, we should go to the Reds game today.” But we can’t because you know, COVID-19. It’s such a bummer.

And since we didn’t go to watch the Reds game at Newport on the Levee yesterday, we did what we do almost every weekend since things have reopened. We went over to Taft’s Brewpourium this afternoon for New Haven-style pizza, a couple of beers…

And now… Reds baseball…

We’ve always loved Taft’s Brewpourium. But during the pandemic, it’s really become our go-to place when we need to get out of the house. It’s a big and airy space with lots of room for social distancing. And of course, delicious pizzas and great beers…

And now Reds baseball…

We ordered our new favorite pizza, a 10″ white pizza with prosciutto, cherry tomatoes, and arugula after bake. It’s so dang good. We paired our pizza with loaded tots now topped with pulled pork but on the side…

That pulled pork was just dynamite…

I ended up eating most of the pulled pork just by itself. We love Taft’s Brewpourium…

Oh, the Reds lost. Again. On our way home, we saw this stock car…

And then, it was good evening from Northside…

And I was tinkering with filters and stuff…

It was a pretty good Sunday. It was pretty much like a lot of other Sundays during this pandemic. I don’t know if having baseball back is really a good thing or a bad thing. It’s cool that baseball is back. But it’s already really frustrating not being able to go to the games in person. But then this entire pandemic is just pretty frustrating. 😀🍕⚾️❤️

At least the BLTs were great.

We’re up and moving pretty early every morning. And today was no exception, we were up and walking the dogs before 8am. Good morning from Northside…

Apparently, I need to clean either my Moment fisheye lens or the lens on my mobile’s camera. I’ve been getting a slightly darker dot right in the middle of my frame. And that’s kind of annoying to notice well after the fact.

We ran over to Kroger to some groceries…

Kroger had more really cute balloons…

So cute. We stopped at Mad Llama again to get coffee and a breakfast sammich…

I got this sausage egg and cheese sammich on a jalapeno cheddar bagel…

And boy, those jalapenos were spicy! You could tell the bagels were super fresh and made from scratch. It was a really good breakfast sammich. But next time, I would definitely get it on an Asiago bagel instead so it wasn’t so spicy.

We didn’t do anything all afternoon. We thought about going to Newport on the Levee to watch the second Reds game of the season. They were projecting the game on a big screen outdoors “safely social distancing in our own game box!”

But then we looked again at Newport on the Levee’s Instagram and it just looked like too many people for us and it didn’t look like people were wearing masks in any of the photos. So we decided just to watch the Reds game at home because, you know… COVID.

So we just ate BLTs again and watched the Reds game…

And good evening from Northside…

And the Reds lost to the Tigers 6-4. 😀🗓️❤️

A Wednesday pizza party?

When we let the dogs out in the backyard this morning, it looked like it was going to be another grey and overcast day of working from home…

When we went out on our morning walk, we saw just how grey and overcast it was…

Good morning from Northside…

Someone lost their shoes. I’ll never understand how someone loses their shoes…

We used to see it quite a few abandoned shoes when we lived downtown. Somehow it made a little more sense to me downtown. I don’t know why.

The little shrub in our front yard is starting to blossom…

Just as I was settling in to get down to work, it started pouring…

Slowly throughout the day, the sun started to come out. Later, we had to pick up a refill of Oscar’s allergy pills from the vet. And then we continued on to Finneytown to pick up some carry-out Domino’s pizza for dinner…

We usually have our pizza parties on Thursday. But we were in the neighborhood. So why not have a Wednesday Domino’s pizza party?

Genifer ordered a crispy thin crust with pepperoni and banana peppers. I got a thick pan crust double sausage and we shared some cheesy bread…

Dominos pizza is delicious. It’s so good. When we lived downtown, we used to order Dominos all the time but we don’t get it as much now because it’s just not as convenient as it was and they don’t deliver to Northside. And that’s a bit of a bummer. But what are you going to do?
