We made it through another week!

Good morning from Northside…

I love these types of clouds. They’re so pretty…

After we walked the dogs this morning, we ran over to Kroger. I’m really happy that they finally made wearing a mask mandatory in public…ย

We stocked up on Shining Stars

Today, Kroger had both the bear and the train in the international aisle…

Kroger’s been having a balloon display by the vegetables recently…

The cutest display was with the condiment balloons or the Cinco de Mayo balloons.

After we got our groceries from Kroger, we ran into Meijer to look for another one of the Venus in-store displays I designed. And there it was…

This display looked really great as well. And then we stopped at Mad Llama for coffee…

When we got home, I had a big bowl of Shining Stars with my Mad Llama Java Whip…

After work. we had delicious BLTs for dinner…

I really love BLTs. When we took the dogs for their evening walk, the skies looked kinda ominous and threatening…

Thankfully, it seemed like those dark clouds had passed us…

The ice cream man drove by…

Of course, we didn’t have any money on us. Because we were just walking the dogs.

Good evening from Northside…

It was starting to look threatening again. But when we were walking down the steps, the sun came back out. At the bottom of the steps, we saw this Northside sidewalk snail but it was hiding inside its shell right in the middle of the sidewalk…

I picked it up and moved it over so it wasn’t right in the middle of the sidewalk…

Those are some really grey clouds. I’m happy we made it through another work week.

This evening we watched more of Hanna Season 2 on Amazon Prime. ๐Ÿ˜€๐Ÿ—“๏ธโค๏ธ

Cheeseburgers & thunderstorms.

Good morning from Northside…

We went to get Biggby Coffee

Biggby Coffee is so good. We like it a lot.

We had to run some errands up north today, and afterward, we found ourselves out in Lebanon. We stopped to fill up our gas tank at this Marathon station…

It was just across the street from this train…

And we were presented with an unusual fuel option…

๐Ÿค”

We decided to just go with the plus. On our back home, we stopped at Quatman Cafe in Mason for lunch. We’ve been to the Quatman in Norwood a couple of times but we’ve never been to the one in Mason before…

Quatman always has a daily special. Today’s special was a cheeseburger, fries or onion rings and a drink for $8. Two, please…

Those onion rings look delicious…

And those burgers were as delicious as they were big. And they were huge! I don’t know why we don’t do to Quatman in Norwood more. Their burgers are terrific and it’s really inexpensive to eat there. We really need to change that and eat more Quatmans.

Quatman was sooo good. When we got home, we took the dogs on a walk around the block. There were some ominous looking storm clouds that had just passed us…

But as soon as we got around the block and up to the top of the hill at the end of our street, it started raining…

And when we got home and looked out in the backyard, it was pouring…

It seemed fitting that it would rain on the end of our weekend. It was a great Monday. It was a really great long weekend. And now we only have to work four days this week to get to our next weekend!

Happy Fourth of July!

Happy Independence Day morning from Northside…

Later this afternoon, we headed out to Geri’s house for a Fourth of July BBQ. On the way out to the burbs, we stopped at a Walgreens in West Chester. And inside Walgreens, we found a floor stand I designed for Venus featuring Four-Time World Surfing Champion & US Olympic hopeful, Carissa Moore

The floor stand really looked terrific. And the next wave of my Venus displays featuring Carissa Moore are going to be arriving in stores very soon. Be sure to keep an eye out for them. It’s always neat when you see your designs come to life out in the real world.ย Pretty neat stuff!

When we got to Geri’s house, we grilled up a whole bunch of goodness…

YUM! Stuff always tastes so good on the grill even though I left the burgers on the grill a little too long. You can’t beat a Fourth of July cookout.

And then we were back home. Good evening from Northside…

As we settled in for the evening, we got ready to watch some fireworks from our third-floor bedroom window WyzeCam. We’ve been hearing fireworks around us every night for the last two weeks. So we were expecting quite the show tonight…

And we weren’t disappointed…

And here are all the little videos I captured combined into one long video…

And then the fireworks we could see out of our windows were done. We could hear all sorts of fireworks going off all around our house until very early in the morning. We just couldn’t see them.

We hope everyone had a happy and safe Fourth of July. ๐Ÿ˜€๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธโค๏ธ

Happy Fourth of July Eve!

Good morning from Northside…

It was a great morning for us because neither of us had to work. This morning we drove up north to Cam International Market in Evendale…

Cam International Market was so awesome. There was so much great stuff to explore. We slowly weaved our way up and down each and every aisle. It was noodle heaven and there were all sorts of unusual snacks and awesome Asian stuffs…

I wish I would have taken so many more photos. But I was so fascinated with everything in the market that I kind of completely forgot to take a lot of photos. We ended up getting some stuff to try, mostly ramen noodles, snacks, and candies from Russia. We’ll definitely be back. And next time we’ll have some recipes so we can look for specific ingredients. On our way home, we stopped at Penn Station to get lunch to bring home with us…

Penn Station is so good. Genifer always gets a 6-inch chicken teriyaki. And I always get an 8-inch Philly cheesesteak. Yum. Speaking of you, KitKat is one of my favorite candies. We got three different varieties of KitKat at Cam International Market…

The red ones were just like regular KitKats…

We think the bright green ones are KitKats with Matcha…

And we think the dark green are KitKats with seaweed because they tasted a little fishy.ย  It turned out to be a really pretty day.

Good evening for Northside…

This evening we walked down to Northside Tavern

We love Northside Tavern. We got to hang out and have a couple of beers. It was nice to get out of the house. And it was also really nice there weren’t very many people at Northside Tavern tonight. On our walk home, the moon was huge over Northside…

It was a really fun Fourth of July Eve. ๐Ÿ˜€๐ŸŒ„๐Ÿฅก๐Ÿปโค๏ธ

Flowers & March First.

Good morning from Northside. It was pretty grey and overcast…

This morning we ran over to Lowe’s get a few things. I really liked these flowers…

They are so pretty. I want to get some of them. We’ll just have to figure out where we can put them. Maybe we could put them on the side of our house after our backyard fence is replaced in the beginning of September. So maybe next summer?

Later, we headed out to suburbia to have lunch at March First Brewing

We started with a flight of stouts and porters…

All of the beers in our flight were really tasty. We tried a couple of their seltzers. Genifer had their peach and I had their watermelon. Both of them were really delicious…

And we shared one of their Hawaiian pizzas…

Their Hawaiian pizza was so good. It was kind of unusual because they put pulled pork on top of it. But it worked really well and it was delicious. We really like March First.

We brought home a six-pack of their Astra Bomb Pop seltzer

It was supposed to taste just like a Bomb Pop. And they nailed it. I swear you could even taste the little wooden stick in the middle. It was really a great seltzer. It was so good that we just sat out on our back porch and drank them all this evening.

It was a pretty good Saturday. ๐Ÿ˜€๐ŸŒ„๐ŸŒผ๐Ÿบ๐Ÿ•โค๏ธ

Coasting into the weekend.

Good morning from Northside…

We ran over to Kroger to get a few groceries. I noticed these crazy striped peppers in the produce section. I’ve never seen anything like them before…

And of course, we stopped at Biggby Coffee…ย

For dinner tonight, Genifer made this vegetable tikka masala over rice…

For just a little pouch you warm up and serve over rice, it was really outstanding. Next time we’re at Whole Foods, we definitely going to have to get some more. It was really surprisingly good for how easy it was to prepare.

And good evening from Northside…

It was a pretty good Friday. ๐Ÿ˜€๐ŸŒ„โ˜•๏ธ๐Ÿ›โค๏ธ

Happy Father’s Day.

Today was Father’s Day. We hope all the dads had a wonderful day. Genifer The dogs got me an awesome new BBQ utensil set and a super-cool new Reds t-shirt for Father’s Day. It was really very unexpected. She’s the best wife. They’re the best dogs.

Good morning from Northside…

One of the little bushes we planted in our front yard is full of little blossoms…

We ran over to Kroger this morning…

Someone bought the train that was full of jello cups in the International aisle. And now there is this jello cup filled panda bear…

Every time we go to Kroger in Oakley, this baby cart is in the cart corral…

After we were done at the grocery, we got the Audi washed at Mike’s Carwash…

And while we were over in that part of town, we had to stop for our weekend edition of Biggby Coffee

We were so mad. We forgot to bring our reusable straws today…

But our drinks were delicious as always!

Laters, we went over to Taft’s Brewpourium for pizza…

Taft’s was having a Father’s Day special…

A large short rib pizza, caesar salad, a loaf of cheesy bread, and a growler for just $45?

YES PLEASE! I like watching the world go by through Taft’s garage doors…

While we were waiting for our pizza to arrive at our table, we watched the monsoon that had just started dropping sheets of water out of nowhere…

And there it is! Our delicious pizza…

We just ate on the pizza. We took home the cheesy bread, caesar salad, our growler and about half of the pizza…

When we were getting ready to head out, I super long train started rolling by Taft’s too…

Trains are so cool. I could sit and watch the trains go by all day.

On our way home, we stopped at Second Place for a bourbon slush…

When we walked the dogs, the asphalt in the parking lot atop the hill at the end of our street was steaming…

Good evening from Northside…

And we ended our weekend by hanging out in our backyard…

It was a really good Sunday. ๐Ÿ˜€๐Ÿ—“๏ธโค๏ธ

Sunny Blu Coffee is back!

We noticed on the social media that Sunny Blu Coffee had reopened after an extended hiatus during the COVID-19 shutdown. So before we started working this morning, we ran down to Camp Washington to start of the day with some delicious Sunny Blu…

On Thursday mornings from 7-9am is Sunny Blu customer appreciation. They were giving every customer a free turkey sausage egg and cheese croissant with purchase…

You can’t beat that! I’m so happy Sunny Blu is back open. Genifer had a caramel latte and I had an iced hot chocolate. Their stuff is sooo good.

On our way back to the car, I finally got to check out CampSITE

And when we got home, we tore into our free breakfast sammiches…

YUM! I know where we’ll be next Thursday if we don’t make it back over to Camp Washington before then. ๐Ÿ˜€โ˜•๏ธ๐Ÿฅโค๏ธ

Running around on a Friday.

Before I started work this morning, we ran over to Whole Foods at Rookwood Commons in Hyde Park to get some groceries…

The grocery aisles at Whole Foods are one-way streets…

Someday, we’ll have to try Ninja Squirrel Sriracha…

And some of these Bearitos…

And this spicy chicken noodle soup…

Summer must be here! Because we found a mini-keg of Bell’s Oberon!

Whole Foods has some really good stuff! And speaking of good stuff on our way back home from Whole Foods, we stopped for some delicious Biggby Coffee

After I finished all my work for the day, we walked down to Higher Gravity for a beer…

Later, we walked the dogs around the block…

And we got to see this ScareCorona all lit up…

And finally, good evening from Northside…

Today was a good day. ๐Ÿ˜€๐ŸŒ„๐Ÿ›๏ธโ˜•๏ธ๐Ÿบ๐Ÿฆ โค๏ธ

Slow down and Memorial Day.

This afternoon we drove out to West Chester for a Memorial Day cookout…

I got to work the grill today, and it was the first time I ever grilled on a propane grill…

Propane was just okay. It’s definitely not charcoal. And it took a really long time to cook everything. But the burgers and dogs were delicious! ๐Ÿ˜€๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ๐Ÿ”๐ŸŒญโค๏ธ
