Cheers to the weekend!

Good morning from Northside…

It was so grey and overcast today. It looked more like a Monday instead of a Friday…

Genifer made chicken marinated in Trader Joe’s Island Soyaki with pinto beans and rice for lunch today…

It was a really delicious lunch!

We finally made it through our work week after our long holiday break.

And it was still overcast this evening…

Good evening from Northside…

We had some drinks this evening. We tried a couple of the Urban Artifact beers Shannon gave us for Christmas. First, we tried the Epicurean Reindeer Pickle. It was described on Untappd as A Christmas dill pickle gose with peanuts and a peanut butter and pickle sandwich. Sounds pretty interesting.

It was really good. And exactly as described… a peanut butter and pickle sandwich.

And we tried their Xmas Pickle. It was described as a Holiday Xmas Pickle Miracle…

And it was really good as well. Very pickle! Thanks, Shannon! We can’t wait to try the other beers you gave us.

We also these little sour shots that we picked up a gas station in West Chester. They’d been in our refrigerator for a while now…

The grape was the best flavor. It was actually pretty tasty.

And it finally happened…

Finally. And all it took was trying to incite an unruly mob to rush the Capital and try to overthrow our democratic republic. Hopefully, the world will be a little bit better place for a while. 😀🌄☁️🐔🍺💻🚫❤️

Thursday NYPD Pizza party!

Oscar’s been hanging out with me in our studio office while I’ve been working…

Time for our weekly Thursday evening NYPD Pizza party…

Ohmigosh. Our NYPD pizza and cheese garlic bread was so good.

This evening we started watching Manhunter: Unabomber on Netflix. 😀🌄🐾🍕📺❤️

Just up the road?!

It was another rainy, grey, overcast morning in Northside…

Good morning from Northside…

We ordered Penn Station for lunch today online…

And we ran up Hamilton Avenue into College Hill to pick it up…

Ohmigosh. It smelled so good on the way home. Genifer ordered her favorite chicken teriyaki…

And my favorite is the cheesesteak…

Penn Station is so good. And they have the best fries. When we lived downtown, there was a Penn Station just around the corner from us. We’d get it quite a bit. It was always delicious. Since we moved to Northside, the closest one to us is over on the campus of University of Cincinnati. But getting to it is a pain and the parking is next to impossible. We had no idea this other Penn Station was so close. Now we know this one is literally just up the road from us, we can start getting Penn Station more often again.

And good evening from Northside…

Tonight, we finished season three of Marcella on Netflix. And tomorrow, we have to find another movie or series to start watching. Finding a new series that we can get into is always the most difficult part. 😀🌄🥪🍟📺❤️

And we’re back at it.

We’re back at it, working from home after having a long twelve day holiday break. And of course, it would be a grey and overcast, rainy Monday morning. I mean, why wouldn’t it be?

Good morning from Northside…

And good evening from Northside…

We had another one of the Kroger Prep+Pared Home Chef Express meals. This one had a really long name too. This was one Baked Chicken Parmesan with garlic herb butternut squash and Brussels sprouts…

It was another really good meal. The chicken was delicious and the veggies were really good as well. This is another meal that would have gone really well with garlic bread. But somehow, we were all fresh out. Still, we like the Kroger Prep+Pared Home Chef Express meal kits a lot.

I was kinda hoping that today would be gradual easing back into work. Nope. That wasn’t the case at all. I got tossed in the middle of two turn and burn projects. The second involved me creating eight of these three-quarter view renders of designs I created well before holiday break…

I finally got them all done around 11:30pm. Nothing like a 16 hour day on your first day back after the holiday break. So much for a slow and easy first day back to work.

Fantasy football wrap-up.

I played fantasy football again this season…

I played four teams but I didn’t realize that all four of my teams of PPR (Points Per Reception). I’d never played PPR leagues before and it showed. Two of my four teams teams made the playoffs and my best finish was 3rd place…

My other teams finished fourth, fifth and seventh, all in eight team leagues. Is that bad? It’s not good. But I still think fantasy football is so much fun. It makes the football season really interesting and enjoyable, especially when you’re winning. Which I wasn’t. 😀🏈🏆❤️

On to fantasy basketball…

Deep dish Sunday.

Today was our last day of the our long holiday break…

And it was another grey and rainy day.

Good morning from Northside…

This morning we ran over to the grocery store to get stuff for the upcoming week…

According to the balloons at Kroger, I guess the next major holiday is the Superb Owl…

We made BLTs for lunch with turkey bacon. I really like turkey bacon a lot. I made my BLTs on little Hawaiian rolls with two slices of cheese. They were delicious…

We watched football until it was time to take the dogs on their walk.

And then it was good evening from Northside…

For dinner tonight, we enjoyed out second Lou Malnati’s deep dish pizza that JJVE sent us for Christmas. The deep dish cheese pizza was really good and we were really excited to try the pepperoni one…

It looked and smelled so good…

It was delicious! Thanks so much for the delicious pizzas, JJVE! We really enjoyed them.

For dessert, Genifer made gooey deep dish cookies with chocolate chips and butterscotch chips. And we paired the cookies with little ice cream party cups…

They were delicious as well. Genifer always finds the best recipes to make.

This evening we finished the second season of Marcella on Netflix. It’s a good show.

We had a wonderful long holiday break. NO matter how long it is, it never feels long enough. I think I always have delusions of grandeur that I’m going to get more done or get more accomplished. This time I didn’t really accomplish a whole lot. But at least, we got to hang out and spend lots of time together and watch a bunch of movies and have a great holiday. And it was very relaxing. 😀🌄☁️🎈🥪🍕🍪📺

Tickle Pickle Saturday.

Good morning from Northside…

This afternoon we walked to Tickle Pickle for lunch…

When we got home, we were ready to eat our delicious Tickle Pickle. Genifer had her Eagles chicken sammich…

And I had my Bread Zepplin with extra cheese…

Today, we tried Tickle Pickle’s Goetta Van Fleet, their homemade mac & cheese topped with goetta and crushed BBQ Grippos…

We also got a side of their delicious mac & cheese…

And of course, we got milkshakes…

Good evening from Northside…

It turned out to be another pretty low-key day albeit it a very delicious one. We started watching Marcella on Netflix. “Despite marriage woes, a tragic loss, memory blackouts and her struggles as a mom, a London detective excels at what she does best: catching killers.” It’s another really good one. 😀🌄🍔📺❤️

A nice start to the new year.

Welcome to the new year! Good morning from Northside…

Our new year got off to a very lazy start. We were so lazy. Today, we ended up watching the entire season of Manhunt: Deadly Games. We watched all ten episodes back to back to back. It was a really good show. We like the detective shows. We did take a little break about halfway through to get NYPD hoagies for lunch…

We ordered a family fry but they gave us cheese fries. And they gave us a regular fry instead of my hoagie. We called them and they sorted it out. NYPD hoagies are so good. We were so stuffed afterward. We watched our UC Bearcats lose a heartbreaker to Georgia in the Peach Bowl. They represented themselves very well on the big stage. All the while Mack hung out on his dog bed in our studio office…

And then we took the dogs around the block. The sky was very pretty tonight…

It was a very pretty evening. We had a great lazy day just watching our show.

Happy New Year’s Eve.

It kind of figures that 2020 is going out with a gloomy, overcast day…

Good morning from Northside…

We ran over to Trader Joe’s this morning to pick up a few things…

We used one of our Trader Joe’s gift cards…

Thanks, mom & dad!

Trader Joe’s has the best taco sauce. Last time we were at TJ’s, they were all sold out of taco sauce. Thankfully, today they restocked and there was plenty…

Did we mention we had a Trader Joe’s gift card?

Trader Joe’s was having an employee gingerbread house contest…

This one was my favorite…

Ha. This is fine. And then we went to Biggby to get New Years Eve coffee…

Mack was all crashed out in our studio office…

We walked over to Northside Tavern for a couple of New Years Eve drinks…

It was nice to get out of the house for a bit and have some fun. On our walk home, we stopped by Kitchen Factory to get a couple of slices…

And our slices didn’t even make it home. We ate them while we were walking and they were delicious…

We took the dogs around the block…

Good evening from Northside…

Our plan we to stay up to watch the ball drop on TV. But we nodded off on our sofa. I woke up a couple of minutes before midnight. Genifer had already gone upstairs. I let the dogs out in the backyard just as the clock hit midnight. A whole bunch of cheers and noise makers could be as the clock struck midnight. And then there were some firework popped up all over the sky. And my cameras were on the dining table because I was just going to let the dogs out before heading upstairs. Oh well. I’m just happy that we can get a fresh start in the morning.
