Saturday morning errands.

This morning we got up and moving and headed over to Trader Joe’s in Kenwood…

We love Trader Joe’s. We’ve become kind of obsessed with their stuff especially their Mandarin Orange Chicken. It’s better almost every takeout Chinese food that we’ve had. And it’s only $4.99. It’s so dang good.

Then we stopped by the new At Home store in Norwood…

I felt like I was in that last scene from Raiders of the Lost Ark

From there, we headed out to The West Side to collect our taxes. We got money back on the federal but we owed the state and city. But we came out ahead. After we got our taxes, we stopped into Meiner’s Fine Meats…

I wanted to try their World Famous Chicken Salad

We a little container of the chicken salad (it was awesome), a little bit of their pasta salad and a couple of these awesome buffalo chicken egg rolls…

Meiner’s has really great stuff. And their meats looked out of this world. We’ll have to go back when it’s a little bit warmer outside when we can grill a bunch of stuff. After we were done at Meiner’s, we stopped a BDubs to share some boneless wings for lunch…

Oh, and mini corn dogs. I love their mini corn dogs…

On the way home from The West Side, we saw this sign for Chester’s Chicken at a Shell gas station on Boudinot…

That chicken is so darn cute. I wonder how the chicken is? It was a really good Saturday morning. We got a lot accomplished and we were still home by one o’clock. πŸ˜€πŸ—ΊοΈβ€οΈ

My March StitchFix.

My StitchFix for March arrived in the mail today. There was this pink polo…

And this light blue/grey polo…

There was this red t-shirt…

This grey lightweight hoodie…

And this dark denim…

Pretty nice stuff. I decided to keep just the light blue/grey polo shirt. The other stuff was really nice but it was a little on the expensive side. I really like my StitchFix. I can’t wait to see what is in my next box! πŸ˜€πŸ“¨β€οΈ

Genifer got a new phone today.

This morning we got up and went over to the Sprint store at Rookwood Exchange in Norwood. She was more than overdue for an update…

And she decided to move from her Samsung Galaxy S-whatever to her very first iPhone, the new iPhone Xs Max…

Now she’s all super fancy-fancy. πŸ˜€πŸ“±β€οΈ

My very first StitchFix.

Genifer has been doing StitchFix for a little while now. StitchFix is the personal styling company that sends you a box of five different clothing items as often as you’d like. And Genifer really likes it. I finally gave it a try because it seems the only clothing I’ve been buying lately is just stuff from my favorite sports teams. Hoodies. Polo shirts. T-shirts. I have them all, for all my favorite teams. I gave StitchFix a try to break out of my rut and maybe get some brand new big boy clothes…

I kept the last two items, the grey and navy sweater, and the grey denim pants.

I’m pretty excited too! StitchFix is a pretty neat service. And returning the three items I decided to return was also super easy. I can’t wait to see what is in my next box! πŸ˜€πŸ“¨β€οΈ

Seen and noted: Indoor Snowball Fight.

I saw this at work today…

An indoor snowball fight sounds like so much fun. We’re going to have to track one of these down for our home. πŸ˜€β„οΈβ€οΈ

Shopping in Over-the-Rhine.

After lunch at Sacred Beast, we did some shopping in OtR. We went to Mica 12v. They had this wall of clocks that was pretty mesmerizing to watch

Then we went to The Native One. Genifer loves this store…

I wanted to steal these adorable dog toys, and I would take the dog bed too…

We saw this guy on Vine Street…

We went to Elm&Iron

And then across the street to Elm&Iron Loft…

I think my dream job would be doing the Instagram for Elm&Iron. We stopped into Low Spark for a drink…

And then we walked down to Sundry and Vice for a drink before heading home…

We love their amazing cocktails. It was a really fun afternoon of shopping and hanging out in OtR. πŸ˜€πŸ›οΈπŸΉβ€οΈ

Downtown details.

I was running some errands around downtown Cincinnati this afternoon, and I was kind of shocked to see that the Tiffany & Co. at Vine and Fifth Streets had closed…

It’s real shame. A while back the downtown TJ Maxx moved across the river to Newport. Then the downtown Macy’s closed their doors. And now Tiffany has left. The only real place to any shopping in the Central Business District is Saks Fifth Avenue. It getting harder and harder to do holiday or birthday shopping in CBD. And that’s a real shame. Also a real shame is the huge, old beautiful pine tree they cut down to display on Fountain Square for a little over a month…

I wish they would just get a big fake tree or come up with some alternative to chopping down a very old tree every year. But in an effort to remain positive, downtown did recently get a Frisch’s Big Boy in Carew Tower on Fifth Street…

I’ll have to check out the new Big Boy soon. Honestly, I keep forgetting it’s over there.

I guess the world giveth and taketh away. It seems like CBD has been more on the taketh side lately. And that also is a real shame.

Seen and noted.

This afternoon I passed on what could have possibly been the world’s best White Elephant Gift for next year. Check out this guy…

Wow. Just wow. πŸ˜€πŸ‰β€οΈ

Northside Saturday.

Early this afternoon, we walked down to Blue Jay for lunch…

We both had grilled cheeses and fries. My grilled cheeses had so much turkey on it…

After lunch, we walked over to Urban Artifact

UA was hosting the Holiday Ohio Explored Ohio Maker Mart. We didn’t know there were going to be food trucks at Urban Artifact this afternoon. I don’t know that we would have skipped Blue Jay though. Those grilled cheeses really hit the spot…

There was even more stuff downstairs in UA’s taproom…

It was really fun to wander around and look at all the crafts. If you were looking for a new hand-knit winter hat, this was the place for you. Genifer got two new winter hats. And I got a really shiny ring with beautiful inlays. After the Maker Mart, we walked down to Second Place for a drink. They replaced all their beer tap handles with the tops of trophies. I wonder how long they’ve been like that and I never noticed…

It was another really fun Saturday in Northside. We love our neighborhood. πŸ˜€πŸ›οΈβ€οΈ

Downtown Cincy Winter Pop-Shop.

Tonight was the opening of the Downtown Cincy Holiday Pop-Shop on Main Street…

There were collections from four different artists/vendors…

There was all sorts of really great stuff collected in this winter pop-up shop. I think it’s a great idea to activate unused spaces around Central Business District with pop-up shops like this, especially leading up to the holidays. I can’t wait to check back and see what the pop-shop gets updated with in the next few weeks. πŸ˜€πŸ›οΈβ€οΈ
