A winter wonderland.

It was very snowy this morning…

Good morning from Northside…

Work, work, work, work… And then the sun was really pretty this evening…

And good evening from Northside…

We had another one of the Kroger Prep+Pared Home Chef Express meals. This one was Piri Piri Chicken and Feta with citrusy green beans…

It was another really delicious meal. The feta chicken was really good. And the green beans were topped crispy onions straws. It was really good. We like the Kroger Prep+Pared Home Chef Express meal kits a lot.

Tonight, we watched Super 8 on Amazon Prime Video. It was good. Super cute. But you could tell it was an actual movie, not the typical low-budget schlock that you find on Prime Video. And that kind of takes some of the fun out of watching a movie on Amazon Prime. 😀🌄🌨️❄️🐔📺❤️

We made it to Friday!

The sunrise was pretty this morning…

But then the grey skies started to win again…

There was a pretty deeper blue-grey in the sky this morning just above the horizon…

And by the time we were out on our morning walk, the sun was long gone…

Good morning from Northside…

The very pretty blue-grey in the sky was more pronounced up on top of the hill at the end of our street…

Today was a great day to celebrate. It was Friday. We made it through another week. And this morning, our Edible Arrangement was delivered for Valentine’s Day…

It’s pretty amazing how expensive shipping gets the closer you get to Valentine’s Day especially when it falls on a weekend…

But if it was delivered today, it was free. So here we are…

And our arrangement came with a box of a dozen little cookies…

It looks delicious. We can’t wait to dig into the fruits. And the cookies.

We had grilled cheeses with turkey for lunch. In some circles, they call that a Super Bird. But whatever you call them, grilled cheeses are pretty darn good…

I really like dipping my grilled cheeses in barbeque sauce…

And for dinner, we had an NYPD Pizza party…

NYPD Pizza is sooo good…

Snow bear? Snow mouse…?

Snow hamster?

Good evening from Northside…

Tonight, we finished watching Wanted on Netflix. We had a really good Friday. And especially since it’s the start of a three-day holiday weekend. 😀🌄☁️🍍🍓🥪🍕📺❤️

It’s cold outside.

It was really cold this morning…

Good morning from Noerhside…

When we came back from our walk, I noticed my Bombas were on the wrong feet..

The breakfast of champions: Strawberry Toaster Strudels and hot chocolate…

And SURPRISE! It was still snowy this evening…

We had Sloppy Joseph’s for dinner tonight…

We played in the backyard for a bit…

And then it was back to work while we watched more of Wanted on Netflix.

Here we go again.

It was an overcast start to another work week…

The sun started to make a brief appearance this morning before getting enveloped by the clouds…

The sky looked really pretty. Good morning from Northside…

This evening it was just overcast and grey…

We had another one of the Kroger Prep+Pared Home Chef Express meals. We had the Asian Sesame Pulled Pork with broccoli and jasmine rice again…

It was so good again. The Asian glaze on the pulled pork was just amazing. At the grocery, we got a delicious little carrot cake to share for desserts this week…

It was the start of what’s going to be a crazy busy work week for me. I have two projects that both have deadlines on Friday morning. But I’ll get it all get sorted. Somehow.

While I was working on my stuff, we started watching Wanted on Netflix. It‘s wildly improbable and a bit ridiculous but very entertaining. 😀🌄☁️🥡🥕😰📺❤️

Danny Boy Burgers.

The sunrise was very pretty this morning…

Maybe it was super pretty but it’s the first sunrise we’ve had in a minute in the sea of infinite grey that has been the sky lately…

And even as I was looking at the sunrise, the grey sky was starting to take over…

When we went out on our morning walk, there was no sign of the sun…

And this evening it was sprinkling. So yeah, good evening from Northside…

For dinner tonight, we ordered Danny Boy Burgers through DoorDash. Danny Boy is the new burger place on the University of Cincinnati’s campus. Apparently, Danny Boy started last year as a virtual kitchen inside of Keystone Bar & Grill, They specialize in hamburgers, Impossible burgers, and crispy golden fries. And their burgers are only available for delivery from DoorDash and carryout…

We were so excited when we were ordering, look at how good that burger looks…

And here’s my Danny Boy Burger and fries…

It was a little shocking when we unwrapped our everything. They were really small burgers. In the photo on DoorDash, they looked so big. But after looking at the photo again, what was shown was pretty accurate. But in the screengrab above if you look at the size of the pickles in comparison to the size of the burger, those are either huge pickles or little burgers. And I think we know which one it was. Still, the burgers were delicious and surprisingly filling. Their fries were outstanding. And so were their shakes. Overall it was good but I don’t know if I would order Danny Boy again. After we were finished eating, we watched Crypto on Hulu. It was okay. We decided that movies about hackers and crypto-currency don’t make for the best plotlines.

Overall, today was a bit disappointing all the way around. But we made it through another day. 😀🌄☁️🍔🍟📺❤️

Lots of geese.

We work up this morning to more snow…

When we up atop the hill at the end of our street, a pretty big group of geese in their flying V formation flew by in front of us…

And then it was followed by two more Vs, all heading in the same direction…

Interestingly… A group of geese on land is called a gaggle. When they’re in flight, it becomes a skein, team or wedge of geese.

Also, scientists have determined that the V-shaped formation that geese use when migrating serves two important purposes: First, it conserves their energy. Each bird flies slightly above the bird in front of him, resulting in a reduction of wind resistance. The birds take turns being in the front, falling back when they get tired. This lets the geese fly for a long time before they have to stop for rest. The second benefit to the V formation is that it’s easy to keep track of every bird in the group, and may assist with the communication and coordination within the group. Ahhh.. the internet.

Anyway, it was a lot of geese. Good morning from Northside…

And by this evening, most of our snow had melted again…

Broccoli is probably my favorite vegetable. The pulled pork had an amazing Asian glaze and the rice was really good too.

And Genifer made almond flour cupcakes with strawberry frosting…

Cupcakes are always terrific. Good evening from our backyard…

Tonight, we watched In Darkness on Netflix. It was pretty good. 😀🌄❄️🐾🥡📺❤️

Another snowy day.

It was all snowy again this morning…

Good morning from Northside…

And tonight, it was actually still snowy…

We had another one of the Kroger Prep+Pared Home Chef Express meals. This one was BBQ Cheddar Meatballs with bacon potatoes…

It was another really delicious meal. The meatballs were terrific and the bacon potatoes were really good. But honestly, it felt like something like that could just as easily been made from scratch. And that’s a good thing because maybe we could make this one again. It was really good. We like the Kroger Prep+Pared Home Chef Express meal kits a lot.

And then we went upstairs to try to find a movie to watch…

We watched The Rhythm Section on Amazon Prime. It was not terrible. But our day was pretty good, especially for a Monday. 😀❄️🍽️🐾📺❤️

Today was a really good day.

Today was my birthday. Apparently, there was a full moon last night and we could still sort of see it out of our bathroom window this morning…

There were some really pretty clouds this morning…

This morning we ran over to the Kroger Fuel Station to fill up…

We had 80¢ off per gallon thanks to our Kroger Fuel points…

And then we ran over to Mad Llama for birthday coffee…

JAVA WHIPS!

And it was 29º on January 29th…

Good evening from Northside…

Birthday presents!

We had a $10 off coupon from DoorDash so we ordered dinner from China Food…

We ordered so much food…

But it was delicious. We can’t wait to order more dinners from China Food.

Later, we watched the Mavs lose to the Jazz. Bummer. And over in the Big Ten, #19 Illinois knocked off #7 Iowa…

Afterward, I saw this on Twitter…

And there was this one. 🤣 Poor Sparty. They’re having a rough year. I really miss Michigan basketball. I can’t wait until they’re done with their quarantine.

I had a really wonderful birthday. Especially for being in the middle of a pandemic…

A different Thursday pizza party.

It was very pretty all day today. It was really cold. But the sky was pretty all day…

We broke camp a little early this afternoon to go run and pick up pizza for our Thursday night pizza party…

But tonight, we got Domino’s for our pizza party, and we were pretty excited…

Ohmigosh. It was so good. We love pizza. We hadn’t had Dominos in a bit. Soooo good.

After we stuffed our faces, we took the dogs out around the block…

Oscar has been working on his hedgehog’s nose for a while now. He chews on it almost every night and it’s getting comically long…

He loves that dang hedgehog. It’s one of his favorite toys.

And speaking of favorites, I love the comic book, Usagi Yojimbo. I lost track of it for a while. But recently, I rediscovered just how amazing the graphic novels are. Stan Sakai, the artist who created the series, is one of my favorite artists. I learned so many things about art and drawing from his his comics. I saw on Instagram that Usagi Yojimbo is coming to Netflix…

This has the potential to be so amazing if it stays true to the original. I’m very excited. Almost as excited as I was for our pizza tonight. 😀🌄❄️🍕🐾📺❤️

We had another one of the Kroger Prep+Pared Home Chef Express meals. This one was Chicken Thigh Shawarma Wild Rice Bowl with tzatziki sauce…

It was another really delicious meal. Chicken and rice bowls are terrific. And we love anything with tzatziki sauce. We like the Kroger Prep+Pared Home Chef Express meal kits a lot.

A lot of my favorite basketball teams aren’t playing because of COVID-19. Just tonight, Wichita State, Michigan and Grizzlies all had games postponed…
