Fiery Hen.
Because it’s Thursday, we stopped to check out the relatively new, Fiery Hen, it’s just a couple of doors down from Queen City Exchange on Court Street…
Genifer tried one of their cocktails but I don’t remember which one…
I had a $2 Miller High Life. It’s the champagne of beers…
We started with some delicious Pimento Cheese Croquettes…
Genifer had the Chef salad with grilled chicken…
And I ordered the chicken tenders with fries…
You got to pick your spice level. I chose the second mildest, Nashville Mild. It still had a bit of kick. Next time, I’m going to get the least spicy, Yella Belly. And your choice of fries or saratoga chips and ranch or blue cheese. Obviously, I got fries and ranch. Everything was outstanding. I can’t wait to come back to Fiery Hen for more tenders. Because I really love chicken tenders. And these tenders were awesome. 😀🥗🐔🍟❤️

Taglio OtR.
After work this evening, we stopped at the new OtR Taglio. We’ve been to the Taglio out in Columbia-Tusculum a handful of times, and we thought their Detroit-style deep-dish pizza was just terrific. We were really excited to try their new location at 12th and Walnut Streets in Over-the-Rhine.
Since it was happy hour, we ordered these monster mozzarella sticks…
Then it was time for the main event, we had ordered the Pepperoni and Hot Honey deep-dish Detroit-style pizza. And it finally arrived…
Their pizza is delicious! When we were getting ready to leave, we saw Faces in Places…
We love Taglio’s pizza. It’s so dang good. 😀🍕❤️

Most Thursdays on our way home from work, we stop someplace to have a drink and maybe a bite to eat. Tonight, we stopped into Queen City Exchange again…

After work this evening, we stopped at Queen City Radio for a Whip Classic burger, a cheese coney, and some fries. We think QCR has some of the best fries around…
On our way home, we checked in on the OscarCams to find Oscar sitting up on the arm of our sofa waiting patiently for us to get home…

Meet the Brewery: BrewDog.
Tonight, BrewDog USA was back at Higher Gravity. They were tapping a brewery only release single hop IPA from BrewDog called StrataHop. It was described as, “citrus and tropical with just a hint of weed.”
It wasn’t bad. We’re just not a huge fan of IPAs. The other BrewDog beer they had on tap was Choco Libre Nitro Mexican Hot Chocolate Stout. And it was pretty amazing…
It was a wonderful stout with the perfect amount of heat on the back end…
It’s become one of our new favorite beers. We love Higher Gravity. They always have something delicious on tap. 😀🇲🇽🍺❤️

Bonsai Project.
This evening Higher Gravity hosted an event that featured beers from both Shorts Brewing Company up in Michigan and Cincinnati’s Mad Tree Brewing Company. They each brewed a beer that was intended to be layered one on top of the other to create flavors imitating a gin and tonic…
It really didn’t taste much like a gin and tonic. But when the two beers were layered, they created a very delicious beer. After we finished our layered beer, we had a flight of the two Shorts beers and the two Madtree beers…
There’s always something interesting going on a Higher Gravity. 😀🍻❤️

Thursday evening at Listermann.
After work this evening, we stopped at Listermann Brewing Company’s taproom across the street from Xavier’s campus…
We’ve been to Listermann before. We pre-gamed there before one of the very first FC|C preseason matches against Xavier, and we loved going to their Volksfest. Earlier in the week, we saw on their Instagram that they had a Mexican Chocolate Chickow on tap that sounded very intriguing. And then we saw that they also had a Mexican Chocolate Stout on tap as well called Pastel Con Amigos. But when we got to the taproom, they were both already gone. But there were a lot of other interesting sounding beers on tap…
We decided to start with a flight…

Father Kyle’s Cinnamon Stout was really good. As was Satisfied? Their Cookie Wizard had glitter in it. You can sort of see it here…

In my opinion, Nutcase is one of Listermann’s best beers. Sooo peanut buttery! Seen and noted that Thursday night is also Wing Night in the taproom…
We didn’t partake but we ordered some other stuff from Renegade Grille…
We ordered some deep fried mac ‘n cheese balls, loaded cheese fries and a fried bologna sammich to share…
The fried bologna sammich and loaded fries were out of this world…
It was a fun Thursday evening. We can’t wait to come back for another fried bologna sammich and some more incredible beers. 😀🍺❤️

Thursday nights.
We usually try to stop somewhere on our way home from work on Thursday evenings for a happy hour drink or a bit to eat since Genifer doesn’t have to work on Fridays. More often than not that place is Higher Gravity. They almost always have something fun happening on Thursday and tonight was no exception. Tonight, they tapped a keg of Banana Coconut Dragons Milk Reserve from New Holland Brewing…
It was a pretty incredible beer. So much banana and coconut but not too much. It was just the perfect amount of banana and coconut that paired really well with rich dark chocolate. It was so dang good. Before we headed home, we had a couple of slices of pizza from Chameleon…
They have some really great slices. It was another pretty great Thursday night. And we were home and had the dogs walked before the Thursday night football game came on. That’s a good start to the almost weekend. 😀🍺🍕❤️
