FC|C Adidas x Parley.

I love the color navy. It’s one of my favorite colors if not my most favorite. I also love navy stuff. I’d say about a quarter of my wardrobe is made up of navy stuff or has at least has some navy on it. So imagine my delight when I got this email from FC Cincy touting these limited edition Adidas X Parley navy Earth Day jerseys…

As soon as saw the email, I saved what I was working on, grabbed my wallet and headed down the FC Cincinnati Team Store on Fourth Street…

And now I have a brand new navy FC|C Adidas x Parley jersey! 😀⚽️🤗❤️

Fantasy basketball 2019.

I played NBA fantasy basketball again this year. I can’t find any mention of last season on our blog but I’m pretty sure I played fantasy basketball last season. But anyway. I played five teams this season. My Bouncy Balls went 17-3 during the regular season…

They made the playoff winners bracket as the two seed…

And in the championship matchup, I finally defeated an undefeated team…

My team Fire Balls were the three seed in the playoffs but lost by just eight points in the championship. Eight…

My Shot Clock Violators went undefeated through the 20-game regular season…

And they continued their unbeaten run in the first round of the playoffs…

And they claimed their championship by having a perfect season…

In every fantasy season, I always do an auto draft team. My Team Action Auto Draft team made the championship but got thumped in the final round…

My fifth team was called Sneaker Heads. They went 10-10 on the season but somehow entered the playoffs as the two seed. Figure that out. They lost in the first round of the playoffs but finished third. Fantasy basketball is pretty dang fun. 😀🏀🏆❤️

FC Cincinnati versus Sporting Kansas City.

FC Cincinnati was playing host to Sporting Kansas City on yet another cold and rainy Sunday. Remember when soccer used to be played on Saturdays?

And the match would end in a 1-1 draw.

After the match, we hopped in an Uber to get back to Northside to get a slice of pizza at Chameleon and then we walked home…

And the slices were pretty much the best part of the evening. Standing around on another cold and rainy Sunday watching a lackluster performance. I’m getting pretty tired of these Sunday matches. If I wanted to watch mediocre football on Sunday afternoons, I’d go to Bengals game.😀⚽️❤️

The monsoon match.

Tonight, FC Cincinnati played host to Philadelphia Union in what will forever be known in my mind and always referred to as the FC|C Monsoon Match…

We headed down to where we normally stand only to find a lot of people had pretty much the same exact idea…

I think I spent as much time watching the rain fall as I spent watching the soccer…

We decided to break camp just before half time and watch the second half from the comfort of St. Clair. Any place inside of Nippert Stadium with an overhang was jam-packed full of people…

When FC Cincinnati went down 2-0, we decided to pack it in completely, get an Uber and head for home…

FC Cincinnati ended up losing the monsoon match 2-0. 😀⚽️🌧️☔️❤️

Best laid plans.

We had a whole entire day of Cincinnati sports planned today. A couple of weeks ago, we bought Fioptics District tickets for today’s afternoon Reds game. And then after the Reds game, we were going to ride the Metro 17 bus up to tonight’s FC Cincinnati match. Before the Reds game, we stopped to eat lunch at The Pony…

And look what they still had on draft…

BELL’S MANGO HABANERO OBERON!

The Pony is such a great little place…

We shared a chicken finger basket. Their chicken fingers are just out of this world…

And we shared their delicious chicken wing dip…

It was remarkably similar to Genifer’s buffalo chicken dip. But it was served with Frito’s instead of tortilla chips. I really liked it with Frito’s. I liked it a lot. Genifer also got the very last of the Bell’s Mango Habanero Oberon…

While we were eating, it would alternate between being sunny outside and then a few minutes later it would be pouring down rain. We were watching the Reds Twitter for any updates, And as we were getting ready to head down towards the ballpark, this tweet popped up…

The start of the Reds game was delayed. And then there was this tweet that popped up a little while later…

Bummer. You know what they say about best-laid plans, right? At least we got a really good lunch out of it at The Pony. 😀🐴🌧️⚾️❤️

Our Opening Day in OtR.

After work, we stopped by Platform Brewing’s Locoba at Twelfth and Main Streets to watch the Reds Opening Day baseball game against the Pirates…

We had a couple of Platform’s beer while we watched the game…

Both of the beers were very tasty…

And the Reds won their Opening Day game 5-3 after a four-run seventh inning, capped off by a three-run pinch-hit home run from Derek Dietrich…

And then we walked down Main Street to The Pony…

Where we found that The Pony had Bell’s Habanero Mango Oberon on tap…

And they were giving away Bell’s Oberon chapsticks…

It was a pretty great Opening Day! It’s great to have baseball back! 😀⚾️❤️

Who would have guessed?

Four matches into FC Cincinnati’s inaugural season of MLS soccer and they are in a three-way tie for first place in the Eastern Conference on seven points. I guess that technically they are in second place on goal difference and all those tie-breakers. But seriously in your wildest dreams, would you ever have guessed FC|C would be hanging out in second place? 😀⚽️❤️
