There were perfect sledding conditions on the hill at the end of our street. But I had so much work to do that I didn’t have time to partake. The next time it snows we’re finally going to sled the hill. All afternoon, we could hear kids screaming as they were sliding down the hill. When we went our walk this evening, we could see that the hill had got a lot of love today…
Someone lost their mitten gloves…
Good evening from Northside…
I can’t wait for the next time we get a good snow so we can finally go sledding. ๐๐๐จ๏ธโ๏ธ๐ทโค๏ธ
Fast forward to this evening and the sun was still out…
Good evening from Northside…
Genifer ordered a new little desk and it arrived today…
And we assembled it this evening. It looks really nice…
And Genifer made breaded chicken tenders and curly fries for dinner…
It was another good day. But I have no idea for the life of me what we watched this evening. All the days ran together on me. I’m pretty sure we watched a movie on Hulu but I have no idea what which one. Why doesn’t Hulu have a watch history?
But at least, we made it through another week. ๐๐โ๏ธ๐ก๐โค๏ธ
When we up atop the hill at the end of our street, a pretty big group of geese in their flying V formation flew by in front of us…
And then it was followed by two more Vs, all heading in the same direction…
Interestingly… A group of geese on land is called a gaggle. When they’re in flight, it becomes a skein, team or wedge of geese.
Also, scientists have determined that the V-shaped formation that geese use when migrating serves two important purposes: First, it conserves their energy. Each bird flies slightly above the bird in front of him, resulting in a reduction of wind resistance. The birds take turns being in the front, falling back when they get tired. This lets the geese fly for a long time before they have to stop for rest. The second benefit to the V formation is that it’s easy to keep track of every bird in the group, and may assist with the communication and coordination within the group. Ahhh.. the internet.
Anyway, it was a lot of geese. Good morning from Northside…
Hello moon…
And by this evening, most of our snow had melted again…
We ventured out to try something new this afternoon, Agave & Rye in Rookwood…
We started with some chips and guacamole…
Genifer loves guacamole…
And it was really good at Agave & Rye. We also started with the elotte…
And we each had an epic taco. Genifer had The Buddha: teriyaki 5-spice tofu, sticky rice, baby corn, water chestnuts, cilantro, green onion, carrots, red bell pepper, Shiitake mushrooms, crispy wontons, sweet thai chili sauce…
I love ground beef tacos. And they’re kind of hard to find out. Agave & Rye had two on their menu. So this time I ordered The Cousin of Vinnie: seasoned ground beef, tomato-vodka sauce, mac n cheese, white cheddar, tobacco onions and queso cushion in between the two taco shells…
Next time, I’ll try the other ground beef taco. Their tacos were amazing and huge. And they had a bunch of interesting sounding tacos on their menu.
Everything we ordered was delicious…
Agave & Rye had a whole bunch of arcade game that would have been fun to play…
But we’re still in the middle of a pandemic and I didn’t want to touch anything…
Agave & Rye was incredible. Everything was delicious. Their tacos were huuuuge. And we left so stuffed. I think we just found our new favorite taco shop now that Django Western Taco has moved out of Northside.
When we got home, we took the dogs out around the block…
And it was still cold…
Good evening from Northside…
We ended up taking a nap. And later, we watched the NFL playoff games…
I was happy to see Tom Brady win. I was sad to see Drew Brees lose. And I thought the refs jobbed the Browns. How did they miss this helmet-to-helmet hit? Most likely, it cost the Browns a touchdown and they would end up losing by 5 points. Next weekend, I’ll be cheering for Brady and the Bills. Because nothing would be worse than a State Farm Superb Owl with Aaron Rodgers and Patrick Mahomes. I don’t really care for either of them very much.
But anyway, we had a really great day with some epic tacos! ๐๐โ๏ธ๐ฎ๐พ๐โค๏ธ
We had a Kroger flatbread pizza for lunch with Caesar salad. It was really good. Somehow, I didn’t take a photo of it. I don’t remember what we had for dinner.
It was another really delicious meal. All the meatloaf dinners we’ve tried have been outstanding. This was yet another meal that would have gone really well with garlic bread. But I’ve been told that not every meal needs to have garlic bread with it. Still, we like theย Kroger Prep+Pared Home Chef Express meal kitsย a lot.
It kind of figures that 2020 is going out with a gloomy, overcast day…
Good morning from Northside…
We ran over to Trader Joe’s this morning to pick up a few things…
We used one of our Trader Joe’s gift cards…
Thanks, mom & dad!
Trader Joe’s has the best taco sauce. Last time we were at TJ’s, they were all sold out of taco sauce. Thankfully, today they restocked and there was plenty…
Did we mention we had a Trader Joe’s gift card?
Trader Joe’s was having an employee gingerbread house contest…
This one was my favorite…
Ha. This is fine. And then we went to Biggby to get New Years Eve coffee…
Mack was all crashed out in our studio office…
We walked over to Northside Tavern for a couple of New Years Eve drinks…
It was nice to get out of the house for a bit and have some fun. On our walk home, we stopped by Kitchen Factory to get a couple of slices…
And our slices didn’t even make it home. We ate them while we were walking and they were deliciousโฆ
We took the dogs around the block…
Good evening from Northside…
Our plan we to stay up to watch the ball drop on TV. But we nodded off on our sofa. I woke up a couple of minutes before midnight. Genifer had already gone upstairs. I let the dogs out in the backyard just as the clock hit midnight. A whole bunch of cheers and noise makers could be as the clock struck midnight. And then there were some firework popped up all over the sky. And my cameras were on the dining table because I was just going to let the dogs out before heading upstairs. Oh well. I’m just happy that we can get a fresh start in the morning.
We hope everyone had a happy and safe New Years Eve. ๐๐โ๏ธ๐พ๐ป๐๐๐๐โค๏ธ
Genifer has to work a couple of days this week. But I have the entire week off work…
Good morning from Northside…
I worked on organizing our studio office today…
Sometimes it’s hard to get Mack to come downstairs to go on walks…
Good evening from Northside…
We hadย another one of the Kroger Prep+Pared Home Chef Express meals. This one was Sun-Dried Tomato Chicken Alfredo Penne with mozzarella. Again. We wanted to get a different meal this time. The one we wanted was something-something Caesar chicken. But I grabbed the wrong one out of the refrigerated case at the grocery…
It was another really good meal. We just wished it was a different one. But it was still a really good dinner. And we got to enjoy some more garlic bread. And I love garlic bread. We like theย Kroger Prep+Pared Home Chef Express meal kitsย a lot. And Genifer made these deep dish chocolate chip cookies…
Ohmigosh. They were so good. We paired them with little chocolate swirl ice cream cups. It was a really great dessert. The dogs new toys have their fist casualty. Oscar gnawed off one of the eyes of the avocado toy…
We had another pretty good day. Hopefully, this will be a very low-key, relaxing week at home. ๐๐๐ฝ๏ธ๐พโค๏ธ
