Taft’s pizza makes for a good Sunday.

Good morning from Northside…

We were a bit tired this morning. The fireworks around Northside went late into the night and straight through into the very early morning.

This afternoon we went over to Taft’s Brewpourium for a late lunch…

It’s kind of funny to us. It seems like Taft’s Brewpourium is really the only place we go any more. It’s close, the pizza and beers are great, they take all the right precautions to keep everyone safe, and now they have seats near the bar again…

We sat at one of the picnic tables on the other side of the Brewpourium…

We ordered a white pizza with mozzarella, prosciutto, cherry tomatoes, and arugula…

Taft’s had some Fourth of July weekend specials. We ordered two of them… pasta salad and BBQ Grippo crusted chicken wings…

It was a lot of food. Everything was really good as always. And I think the pizza we ordered just became our new favorite. We love Taft’s Brewpourium. It’s always been one of our favorite places but even more so during this pandemic. We don’t know what we would do or where we would go without Tafts.

And good evening from Northside…

It was another good Sunday. But it’s hard to have a bad day when you have Taft’s pizza. 😀🌄🍕🐔❤️

Happy Fourth of July!

Happy Independence Day morning from Northside…

Later this afternoon, we headed out to Geri’s house for a Fourth of July BBQ. On the way out to the burbs, we stopped at a Walgreens in West Chester. And inside Walgreens, we found a floor stand I designed for Venus featuring Four-Time World Surfing Champion & US Olympic hopeful, Carissa Moore…

The floor stand really looked terrific. And the next wave of my Venus displays featuring Carissa Moore are going to be arriving in stores very soon. Be sure to keep an eye out for them. It’s always neat when you see your designs come to life out in the real world. Pretty neat stuff!

When we got to Geri’s house, we grilled up a whole bunch of goodness…

YUM! Stuff always tastes so good on the grill even though I left the burgers on the grill a little too long. You can’t beat a Fourth of July cookout.

And then we were back home. Good evening from Northside…

As we settled in for the evening, we got ready to watch some fireworks from our third-floor bedroom window WyzeCam. We’ve been hearing fireworks around us every night for the last two weeks. So we were expecting quite the show tonight…

And we weren’t disappointed…

And then the fireworks we could see out of our windows were done. We could hear all sorts of fireworks going off all around our house until very early in the morning. We just couldn’t see them.

Happy Fourth of July Eve!

Good morning from Northside…

It was a great morning for us because neither of us had to work. This morning we drove up north to Cam International Market in Evendale…

Cam International Market was so awesome. There was so much great stuff to explore. We slowly weaved our way up and down each and every aisle. It was noodle heaven and there were all sorts of unusual snacks and awesome Asian stuffs…

I wish I would have taken so many more photos. But I was so fascinated with everything in the market that I kind of completely forgot to take a lot of photos. We ended up getting some stuff to try, mostly ramen noodles, snacks, and candies from Russia. We’ll definitely be back. And next time we’ll have some recipes so we can look for specific ingredients. On our way home, we stopped at Penn Station to get lunch to bring home with us…

Penn Station is so good. Genifer always gets a 6-inch chicken teriyaki. And I always get an 8-inch Philly cheesesteak. Yum. Speaking of you, KitKat is one of my favorite candies. We got three different varieties of KitKat at Cam International Market…

The red ones were just like regular KitKats…

We think the bright green ones are KitKats with Matcha…

And we think the dark green are KitKats with seaweed because they tasted a little fishy. It turned out to be a really pretty day.

Good evening for Northside…

This evening we walked down to Northside Tavern…

We love Northside Tavern. We got to hang out and have a couple of beers. It was nice to get out of the house. And it was also really nice there weren’t very many people at Northside Tavern tonight. On our walk home, the moon was huge over Northside…

It was a really fun Fourth of July Eve. 😀🌄🥡🍻❤️

A Thursday that feels like Friday.

Today is Thursday but it’s kind of our Friday. We both have four-day holiday weekends for the Fourth of July. Let’s get this party started. Good morning from Northside…

We walked to get Sidewinder Coffee this morning…

We went on the rare lunchtime dog walk around the block…

And we went on our evening walk as well…

And to celebrate the start of our long holiday weekend, we started our weekend with an NYPD Pizza party…

We got boneless wings and a large Station House pizza with banana peppers…

NYPD’s pizza is sooo good. And there was an almost full moon tonight…

Just another Tuesday.

There really haven’t been many very pretty sunrises so far this summer. When I look out our window in the morning, the colors are pretty but there haven’t been any clouds. And the clouds are what make the sunrises beautiful, in my opinion.

Look at how pretty the sky was this morning from our third-floor bedroom window…

And when I checked back after taking a shower, the clouds started to go away…

I finished the last of our Cosmic Stars cereal from Meijer…

Now the next time we go to Kroger, I can get more Shining Stars.

Oscar was just hanging out in the front bedroom while I was working today…

And we had sammiches from NYPD for dinner tonight…

NYPD has really good hoagie sammiches. They’re are much to look at, just hoagie rolls piled high with toppings. Genifer usually orders the Italian. And I usually go for the chicken fatija sammich. Like I said, they’re really good. Next time we have them, I’ll be sure to take a photo of them.

And I don’t know how I missed my good evening from Northside photo tonight. I bet it looked a lot like yesterdays photo. And that was pretty much our Tuesday. 😀🗓️❤️

Good morning from Northside…

Why do Mondays always have to be so grey and overcast?

Today, I found this on the intertubes…

Yeah. I don’t know either. We didn’t get grilled cheeses. We had BLTs for dinner…

I love BLTs. It’s crazy how such a simple sammich can be so dang good. I put some turkey and cheese on my sammich. So I guess it was actually more of a turkey club sammich if you think about it. But it was really good though.

The laziest Sunday.

We didn’t do a dang thing today. But we did go get to-go Burger King in Finneytown…

We placed our order through the Burger King app. And it turns out there are a bunch of really good deals and coupons on the BK app. We got two Original Chicken Sammiches with two small fries for just $4.99. I mean, we got a bunch of other stuff too. The only bummer part was that you could only use one deal per order. But there were a lot of deals to choose from…

I love BK. It’s probably my favorite fast food. Burger King and Freddy’s. But we never really eat fast food unless we are on road trips. We need to go on more road trips. Because our BK was so good.

We were in the backyard with the dogs, When we went to go inside, Genifer picked up her sweater off the chair and this weird little caterpillar was on it…

Fantasy basketball 2020.

I played NBA fantasy basketball again this year. It seems like it was forever ago that was anxiously approaching another undefeated season. But then all the COVID-19 happened. And the world, including all sports, ground to a halt for months. And our Dallas Mavericks were the default NBA Champions. I was kind of hoping the season would start back up and we could finish out this fantasy basketball season. But it looks like that’s not going to happen now…

Back on June 4, the NBA elected to move forward with a 22-team format to finish its regular season, which was postponed on March 11 due to the coronavirus pandemic. With an incomplete collection of teams playing for the remainder of the season, the ESPN Fantasy Basketball season is complete.

And that’s that. I played eight teams this season. I had teams three finish in first…

Four teams finished in second…

And one team finished third…

It would have been way more fun to get to run through the fantasy basketball playoffs. But what are you going to do? COVID-19 has made a mess of everything. Still, the fantasy basketball season was pretty dang fun again while the season lasted.

Hopefully, there’ll be an uninterrupted fantasy basketball season next year. 😀🏀🏆❤️
