Why does it seem like every Monday so overcast and grey?

It started raining again this morning…
This airplane was flying east to west which was weird because we see a lot of planes over Northside but they all fly north and south, not east and west. It was kind of odd…

Happy Father’s Day to all the dad out there…
Good morning from Northside…
Today was the first day of summer. And there wasn’t any rain in the forecast today so we got to work on our backyard…
We dumped 15 bags of pea gravel and 15 bags of river rocks and 15 drainage rocks in our backyard this afternoon…
I think we’re going to need a lot more rocks.
We got cleaned up and headed over to Taft’s Brewpourium for lunch…
Today, Taft’s had a specialty cheesesteak pizza for Father’s Day…
And it was delicious! Everything they do is amazing.

We’re so happy with how our backyard is progressing. And any day that involved Taft’s pizza is a really good day. This was a really good Sunday. 😀🌄🏡🍕🐾❤️

It was raining again this morning…
The waterfall from the neighbors gutters was in full effect…
Oscar did not want to go out in the rain…
Eventually, the rain stopped long enough to go on a quick walk…

We didn’t have a big puddle on the side of our house…
We put together this little entryway table…
We got sammiches from NYPD Pizza for lunch…
NYPD is so good. After we were done eating the sun came out….

Mack and Oscar were drinking out of the same water bowl again…
There was an almost a full moon tonight…
Today was also my 1100th Timehop in a row…
And there were photos of these two in my Timehop today…

Good morning from Northside…
Our backyard is ready for some more love…
And early this morning, our delivery from Lowe’s arrived…
We moved all the bags of rocks to our side yard…
And we tried to place all the bricks and pavers as we moved them…
We were almost done moving all of stuff when the skies started to get really dark…
We had two little paver stones left as it started to sprinkle…
And we moved the empty palettes to the side of the house just as it started to rain. You’d never even know there were just three palettes of landscaping material on the sidewalk just a little bit ago…
I have a feeling that our backyard is going to be pretty incredible once all this is done…
The side yard waterfall was in full effect…
But right now, it’s all just turning to mud…
It pretty much rained all day and then the sun came out this evening…
Surprisingly, all the rain didn’t make that much of a mess…
We also put down a bunch of rocks next to the front corner of our house…
Then we rewarded ourselves by walking to Chameleon to get some pizza…
Mmmm… Chameleon pizza…
Chameleon just started doing a deep dish pizza too…
We took our deep dish pizza home with us…
And then we sat out on our back patio to admire the progress we’d made…
We’re so excited. We think our backyard is going to be so nice soon…
But I could feel Genifer eyeballing my deep dish pizza…
And it turned out to be absolutely delicious. 😀🌄🏡🍕🍻❤️

Tonight’s HelloFresh dinner was Bulgogi Pork Tenderloin with roasted carrots and lime rice…
These meals are so delicious.
Tomorrow, we get a delivery from Lowe’s, and we’ll make some more progress on transforming our backyard…
Five years ago today, we closed on our house…
It’s hard to believe we’ve already been in our house for five years. 😀🌄🏡🍽️❤️

I had been waiting on this turntable package that I really liked from Turntable Lab. The only problem, it was out of stock for quite a while. I told myself that as soon as it was available again, I was going to order it.
It was finally available again. I ordered it. And today it arrived…
It sounds soooo good. Now we just need to start to get some more records.

For dinner tonight, we had our second HelloFresh meal. This one was Open-Face Pork Sausage Sammiches on cheesy garlic bread with green bell peppers and onions…
These meals are really delicious! I could really get used to eating these meals all the time.
In my Timehop today, there were these photos of water in our basement after a storm…
But even with all the rain we’ve been having, our basement is still dry now…
And speaking of Timehop, today was my 1095th Timehop in a row. Three years of checking my Timehop…

In the mail today, I got a free limited edition Dribble sticker pack from Sticker Mule…
I love stickers. And these are some really neat ones.
We like the Kroger Prep+Pared Home Chef Express meals so much that Genifer tried HelloFresh. HelloFresh delivers step-by-step recipes and fresh, pre-portioned ingredients right to your door. And our first meal kit also arrived today….
Here are the three meals we chose to try this week…
The first meal we tried was Hey, Honey! Salmon with potato wedges and zesty green beans…
Ohmigosh! It was such a delicious meal and it was so much food. I think we’re going to really like HelloFresh a lot! We can’t wait to try the other two meals.
In my Timehop today were these two photos of Genifer and Oscar hanging out in bed back when Genifer had to still wear glasses…

We went outside after dinner, we saw that this big tree limb had fallen into our yard…

We went over to Taft’s Brewpourium for a Sun day pizza party…
We shared a house salad and a white pizza with chicken, cherry tomatoes and arugula…
Their special item today was mozzarella sticks…
Ohmigosh. Taft’s is so good. It’s one of our favorites…
And it was a beautiful Sunday evening so we hung out on our back patiio for a bit…
We can’t wait to keep working on our backyard. It’s going to be so awesome…

It was kind of hazy this morning…
Good morning from Northside…
We ran over to Lowe’s this morning…
We stopped for coffee…
We added some landscape edging and decorative rock border to our front yard…
When we were finishing up in our front yard, a guy jogging by stopped to ask where we got our bricks. After chatting for a minute and as he started to walk away, he said, “Yeah, I gotta work on my front yard and try to get it up to this level.” It was such a nice thing to say. And it made us feel so proud of our front yard…
Hopefully, we van get our backyard up to the level of our front yard. We pulled all the grass and weeds out of the front third of our backyard…
I tried to dig out an old concrete post anchor next to our backyard path…
And that was clearly a mistake. I put it back in it’s hole and filled the hole back in…
Our next step will be adding rocks…
We went upstairs to take some showers. Hi Oscar…
We had BLTs for dinner….
BLTs with wedge fries…

Our front yard looks so nice…
We sat out on our back patio for a bit…
We watched the Louisville City thump Memphis 3-0 and listened to some music…
