And we’re back.
We’re back from celebrating our 4th wedding anniversary for six days and five nights on New Providence Island in the Bahamas. We flew into Nassau and stayed at Warwick Paradise Island. It was a wonderful, all-inclusive resort. We definitely recommend it. We had a great room that had the most magical sunrises. Warwick had a beautiful pool and all sorts of great food and drinks. And there was this terrific little donkey statue at the buffet that I just fell in love with. We did a bunch of relaxing by the pool. We walked around all the little shop of Marina Village at Atlantis, wandered around downtown Nassau, had a beer at two different Pirate Republic Brewing taprooms, visited The Versaille Gardens and the Cloister, we got to hang out on Cabbage Beach and enjoyed a mini Junkanoo Parade at Warwick.
It was such a wonderful trip and Paradise Island was just so beautiful.
The only down part was the temperature wasn’t as warm as we thought it’d be. Actually, it was in the mid-70s for our entire trip. The temperature wasn’t bad at all. But we didn’t anticipate near-constant 20mph winds that you just couldn’t escape. And the winds made it a bit chilly. My favorite purchase in the Bahamas was a $30 hoodie I found at a little shop called Beach Hut just outside of Marina Village. It’s a great hoodie.
We had our hashtag #gtfBahamas2020 and all our photos are up on Flickr. And I even posted a few little videos to YouTube.
We’re just really happy that we had the chance to getaway for a few days. And we’ll definitely be back to the Bahamas someday.
It was just wonderful. 😀🏖️❤️

How cool is that? We love walking. And I actually racked up 17,279 steps! Because we walked all over downtown Nassau yesterday. 😀⚡️❤️

Spring Grove Beer Gallop.
Very similar to last year’s Hamilton Hightail Run, this morning was the Spring Grove Beer Gallop. It was a 4-mile roundtrip fun run that started at Higher Gravity that included stops at Taft’s Brewpourium and Urban Artifact. Runner also got 4 beer tickets, a T-shirt and a whole lotta fun!
And we showed up in Higher Gravity’s Instagram story…
And with that, they were off…
If my counting was correct, Genifer came in fourteenth. In the raffle after the race, Genifer won a pair of new running shoes from JackRabbit…
It was a fun morning and early afternoon at Higher Gravity. 😀👟🍺❤️

The monsoon match.
Tonight, FC Cincinnati played host to Philadelphia Union in what will forever be known in my mind and always referred to as the FC|C Monsoon Match…
We headed down to where we normally stand only to find a lot of people had pretty much the same exact idea…
I think I spent as much time watching the rain fall as I spent watching the soccer…
We decided to break camp just before half time and watch the second half from the comfort of St. Clair. Any place inside of Nippert Stadium with an overhang was jam-packed full of people…
When FC Cincinnati went down 2-0, we decided to pack it in completely, get an Uber and head for home…
FC Cincinnati ended up losing the monsoon match 2-0. 😀⚽️🌧️☔️❤️

Best laid plans.
We had a whole entire day of Cincinnati sports planned today. A couple of weeks ago, we bought Fioptics District tickets for today’s afternoon Reds game. And then after the Reds game, we were going to ride the Metro 17 bus up to tonight’s FC Cincinnati match. Before the Reds game, we stopped to eat lunch at The Pony…
And look what they still had on draft…
The Pony is such a great little place…
We shared a chicken finger basket. Their chicken fingers are just out of this world…
And we shared their delicious chicken wing dip…
It was remarkably similar to Genifer’s buffalo chicken dip. But it was served with Frito’s instead of tortilla chips. I really liked it with Frito’s. I liked it a lot. Genifer also got the very last of the Bell’s Mango Habanero Oberon…
While we were eating, it would alternate between being sunny outside and then a few minutes later it would be pouring down rain. We were watching the Reds Twitter for any updates, And as we were getting ready to head down towards the ballpark, this tweet popped up…
The start of the Reds game was delayed. And then there was this tweet that popped up a little while later…
Bummer. You know what they say about best-laid plans, right? At least we got a really good lunch out of it at The Pony. 😀🐴🌧️⚾️❤️
