NYPD + MNUFC.

Good morning from Northside…

I’ve been having hot chocolate almost every morning. Most of the time, it’s in one of our #TeamFiona mugs

Once I had my cocoa, it was time for day three of my Lego City Advent Calendarโ€ฆ

The Lego City Advent Calendar has been pretty cool so far.

Good evening from Northside…

And tonight, we had an NYPD Pizza party!

It’s been a minute since we’ve had an NYPD Pizza party

We ordered cheese garlic bread but they gave us an order of Nightsticks instead and they were really good…

And then we had to get upstairs…

Because tonight was the second round of the MLS Cup Playoffs. My Minnesota United was playing away to Sporting Kansas City, the top-seed in the Western Conference…

United scored three goals in twelve minutes, and knocked Sporting out of the MLS Cup playoffs of the MLS Cup Playoffs…

Minnesota United will play Seattle Sounders on Monday in the Western Conference finals…

What a match! It was an amazing end to a terrific day. But any day that includes an NYPD Pizza party and a MNUFC Loons win is a really good day on our blog. ๐Ÿ˜€๐ŸŒ„โ˜•๏ธ๐Ÿ•โšฝ๏ธ๐Ÿ†โค๏ธ

Hello, December.

Today was December 1st. How crazy is that? It must have kept snowing overnight because we woke up to winter wonderland…

And a snowy good morning from Northside…

Brrr. I bought three Lego City Advent Calendars a while back. I bought on one for me and one for our niece and one for our nephew out in Boston. I forgot that they were still sitting on the sofa in our studio, and just mailed them out the day after Thanksgiving. Because December really snuck up on me. Violette and Edgerton… your Lego Advent Calendars are on their way. They’ll be there just as soon as USPS finally decides to deliver them. I paid to have them delivered today. But the tracking number says they are still in Cincinnati somehow.

Anyway, I finally got the start my Lego City Advent Calendar today…

And here is Lego City Advent Calendar day one…

A Lego City Advent Calendar. How cool is that? I think Lego anything is pretty dang awesome.

I started working this morning. I had just finished a hour long meeting and a little after 10am all of a sudden, our power went out….

You don’t really realize how much of your work depends on power until you don’t have it. Obviously, there wasn’t any internet. And my work MacBook is a bit older and the battery life isn’t super. So by 11:30am, I was pretty much staring out the window, waiting for the power to come back on.

The energy company’s website said it wouldn’t be back on before 1:30pm. Eventually, we ventured out to go out to pick up something for lunch and decided on Wendy’s…

We got home and started eating our Wendy’s and the power came back on a little before 2pm…

Thank goodness for electricity!

It looks like people got some good sledding in on the hill at the end of our street…

We should have gone sledding while we were waiting for power to come back on.

Good evening from Northside…

We ate leftover Wendy’s chicken nuggets for dinner. And later, we watched Holidate on Netflix. It was super cute. It’s still hard to believe it’s December 1st.

Today was also my 900th Timehop in a row…

And this guy was in my Timehop today…

Pretty fitting for December 1st. It is the season. It was a pretty good day, even without power. ๐Ÿ˜€๐ŸŒ„โ„๏ธ๐Ÿ”๐Ÿ“บโค๏ธ

The first snow.

It was another Monday. And Mondays usually mean that it’s going to be another grey and rainy morning in Northside…

And it was cold outside too.

You can’t really tell from these photos but this morning it was raining hard enough that the dogs didn’t even want to go outside on their walk. We had to pretty much drag them out of the house and down to the end of the street so they would potty.

Mondays are tough. I feel like they are the busiest days of the week. When I look back at my photos to do a blog post for almost any Monday, there are never any photos from during the day. There are photos from our morning dog walk and then it jumps straight to photos from the evening dog walk.

And today was no different. This afternoon it started snowing. Our very first snow of the season. The snow was starting to accumulate on top of the cars on our street…

It started really snowing on our walk…

Good evening from Northside…

There was more snow on the Jetta when we got back from going around the block…

But the snow wasn’t starting to accumulate on the grass yet…

For dinner tonight, Genifer made turkey meatloaf…

She also made instant mashed potatoes and I finished the last of the Thanksgiving mac&cheese…

And it was delicious. We ate the entire meatloaf. It’s kind of a bummer because I was looking forward to a meatloaf sammich for lunch tomorrow.

When we got upstairs, I was trying to work on our blog but Flickr was having a case of the Mondays as well…

8 Tonight, we watched Xavier squeak out a win against Eastern Kentucky. Then we fell asleep. We always end up falling asleep pretty early on Mondays. ๐Ÿ˜€๐ŸŒ„๐ŸŒง๏ธโ„๏ธ๐Ÿ€โค๏ธ

A pretty low-key Sunday.

It was really chilly and frosty this morning…

Good morning from Northside…

We had a big breakfast this morning…

Eggo waffles with scrambled eggs and sausages! And it was terrific. We never have big breakfasts.

Hello, Oscar. He looks so handsome with his new haircut…

And we had Thanksgiving part three for a late lunch after Arsenal lost this afternoon…

And then it was just a lot of hanging out on our new sofa until we took the dogs on their evening walk around the block…

Good evening from Northside…

It was pretty sunny all day. But it started getting more and more overcast the closer we got to Monday…

Tonight, we watched both The Princess Switch and The Princess Switch: Switched Again on Netflix. The first one was pretty cute. The second one was still cute but a bit of a stretch. While we were watching our Netflix movies on the TV, I was also keeping tabs on Michigan as they survived overtime against Oakland. The same Oakland that Xavier destroyed by 52 on Wednesday.

We had a pretty low-key Sunday. But it was a really good one. Low-key Sundays are the best Sundays. ๐Ÿ˜€๐ŸŒ„๐Ÿง‡๐Ÿพ๐Ÿฆƒโ˜๏ธโค๏ธ

Our Thanksgiving.

Our Thanksgiving got off to a overcast and rainy start…

Good morning from Northside…

After the Arsenal won their Europa League match, we drove out to West Chester to have Thanksgiving with Geri. It was just the three of us this year.

Oops… forgot the gravy…

We had a wonderful Thanksgiving dinner with Geri. We spent the afternoon with out in West Chester. We helped with her Christmas decorations and watched the Cowboys lose. Again. It was very nice, low-key Thanksgiving.

When we got back to Northside, we took the dogs on a walk…

And good Thanksgiving evening from Northside…

We had a really nice Thanksgiving. We hope everyone had a very nice, and safe Thanksgiving as well. ๐Ÿ˜€๐Ÿฆƒโค๏ธ

Our new sofa arrived. Finally.

It was a very rainy morning…

In fact, it was raining so much that the dogs didn’t even want to go on a walk. We basically dragged them down to the end of the street to potty.

This morning our new sofa was finally supposed to be delivered. I think we ordered it all the way back at the beginning of August. So long ago in fact, that I couldn’t remember what it was supposed to look like or even what color we ended up choosing. We had the space in our living room all ready…

And then it was here…

And our new sofa is just perfectly splendid…

It’s so nice and stylish and very, very comfortable to sit on. Maybe we’ll actually start watching TV is our living room instead of always retreating upstairs to our bedroom. We’ll see. But we’re very happy with our new sofa.

Today was the start of the college basketball season. I watched Xavier just destroy Oakland. And Michigan hold off a very good Bowling Green team. It’s terrific to have college basketball back in our quarantine lives.

I finished up my projects for the week. And it was time for the long four-day holiday weekend. It was also time to take the dogs on the evening walk around the block…

We clouds didn’t even look real this evening. They looked like a painting…

Good evening from Northside…

Genifer ordered holiday sweaters for Oscar and Mack…

They’re a little snug. But still very festive. Mack didn’t seem to mind his. But you could tell Oscar was mad while he had his sweater on.

We had a few drinks this evening to celebrate our new sofa and because it was the biggest going out night of the year.

But we were still in bed before eleven o’clock. ๐Ÿ˜€๐ŸŒ„๐ŸŒง๏ธ๐Ÿก๐ŸŒป๐Ÿพ๐Ÿปโค๏ธ

And this photo of Mack showed up in my Timehop today…

Banana pudding is delicious.

Good morning from Northside…

And good evening for Northside…

I found this recipe for how to make the banana pudding from Magnolia Bakery in New York City at home. We didn’t make this recipe exactly. But Genifer still made banana pudding for us…

I mixed my pudding and ReddiWip all together…

Banana pudding is delicious. ๐Ÿ˜€๐ŸŒ„๐Ÿพ๐ŸŒโค๏ธ

And this photo of Oscar showed up inย my Timehopย todayโ€ฆ

And it was a rainy Sunday too.

Bleh. Good morning from Northside…

When I was putting this blog post together, I had a hard time figuring out if these were photos from this morning or yesterday evening. It all just looked the same… very, very grey and awfully damp…

We ran over to Lowe’s this morning…

Lowe’s had all their Christmas stuff out in full force…

Christmas trees are silly expensive at Lowe’s…

It must be the frosted tips or maybe the lights…

We got our artificial Christmas tree for a fraction of that a couple of years ago. We found it on one of those deals and discounts websites after Christmas. And I guess we got a really good deal. I liked this wreath…

We’re thinking about replacing the carpeting in our bedroom with this embossed wood plank laminate flooring in Seaside Chestnut

We want to remake our third floor bedroom to have a coastal cottage feel. Genifer wants to paint our bedroom. Here’s the colors she’s thinking…

And I really liked this rug…

And then we went back to Biggby for coffee

I tried this new Biggby maple waffle breakfast sammich…

It was really good. I would definitely eat it again.

And after some football, it was good evening from Northside…

We watched my Minnesota United host their first home playoff match tonight against Colorado Rapids. Andhe Loons earned their first playoff victory with a 3-0 win over Colorado led by two goals from Kevin Molino…

Take that, Stan Kroenke.

Two years ago, we were in Dallas for Thanksgiving. And I ate the spiciest chicken sammich I have ever eaten. It was so delicious but soooo spicy…

Thanks for the memories, Timehop.

It was just a low-key weekend with all the rain. ๐Ÿ˜€๐ŸŒ„๐ŸŒง๏ธ๐ŸŽ„โ˜•๏ธ๐Ÿˆโšฝ๏ธ๐Ÿฆ•๐Ÿ”๐Ÿ”ฅโค๏ธ

Friday pizza party!

We got to see another really pretty sunrise this morning…

Good morning from Northside…

And there was this pretty little flower on one of the shrubs in our front yard…

We walked to Sidewinder to get coffees this morning to celebrate Friday…

Fast forward through the work day, and it was officially the weekend! Time for a Toppers pizza party!

Omigosh! Great pizza! What a terrific way to usher in the weekend!

After we stuffed ourselves full of pizza and cheesy bread, we took the dogs out on their walk around the block…

We started watching the second season of Dark on Netflix. And then we all pretty much just crashed out…

We’re really happy we made it through the week. The work week after a vacation always feels so long. Now we can just relax again. I don’t think we really have any big plans for this weekend. There’s still this pandemic that is more out of control now than ever. And I think it’s suppose to rain all weekend too. ๐Ÿ˜€๐ŸŒ„โ˜•๏ธ๐Ÿ•๐Ÿพโค๏ธ

Tuesdays can be hard too.

The sky was so pretty this morning…

Good morning from Northside…

We had to run an late errand late this morning, and while we were out the sky started looking very threatening…

But it never rained, thankfully. We picked up Wendy’s for lunch on the way home. After we finished lunch, it was just work, work, work for the rest of the afternoon.

And finally, it was good evening from Northside…

All these photos this evening were taken just before to seven o’clock…

We were pretty tired this evening. I think we were both asleep shortly after nine o’clock. Ugh, Tuesdays. Amiright? ๐Ÿ˜€๐ŸŒ„โ˜๏ธโค๏ธ
