Hello from Northside.

This morning, there were some pretty little grey clouds above the hill at the end of our street…

Good morning from Northside…

It was really pretty this morning but it got kind of grey by the evening…

And good evening from Northside…

Later this evening, we ran Oscar and Bear out West Chester to stay with Geri for the weekend. She is going to watch two of our guy’s while we go up to Michigan to visit my parents. On our way back to Northside, we stopped at Walgreens to get a few things for our trip…

When we got home, we packed up some stuff to take with us on our adventure up north tomorrow. ๐Ÿ˜€๐ŸŒ„โ˜๏ธ๐Ÿพโค๏ธ

Another day of pretty skies.

It was another very pretty morning…

We walked to the end of the path atop the hill at the end of our street to watch the sunrise this morning…

Good morning from Northside…

As soon as I’m done working for the day, we’ve been trying to go in the backyard to play ball in our backyard while it’s still light outside. We collected all the tennis balls and put then in this bin. I didn’t realize that we’d accumulated so many tennis balls…

I like this bin because it has open slats across the bottom. Hopefully when it rains, the rain water will rinse some of the dirt off the balls and then drain away.

Bear does an amazing job of bringing his tennis ball back to you. He wants to play with only one ball the entire time we’re in the backyard. If you try to throw him a different ball, he’ll wait for the ball he’s been playing with. Mack is just the opposite. Mack will chase a ball, leave it and then come running back so you can throw him a different tennis ball…

They really love their tennis balls. Oscar doesn’t really care about tennis balls.

They also love their evening walks…

And good evening from Northside…

We finished Ratched on Netflix. It was pretty good, a bit odd but pretty good.

But gosh. It was almost 80ยบ today and the skies were just so pretty all day. I’d definitely take days like today everyday. ๐Ÿ˜€๐ŸŒ„๐Ÿพ๐ŸŽพโค๏ธ

Today felt like autumn.

The sky was very pretty this morning…

It’s still been pretty warm with temperature in the mid-to-upper 70s and low 80s. But today was a little bit cooler with a high of just 70ยบ…

Good morning from Northside…

Genifer made an Autumn Sausage Veggie & Apple Sheet Pan for dinner…

With Stove Top stuffing! I love Stove Top stuffing…

Thankfully, it’s finally Stove Top stuffing season again. Stuffing makes it feel like autumn. Did I mention I love stuffing?

Good evening from Northside…

And that was our Tuesday. We watched the the Rays go 3-0 up on the cheaters from Houston. And the Braves took a 2-0 lead over the Dodgers. A Rays versus Braves World Series wouldn’t be too bad. ๐Ÿ˜€๐ŸŒ„โšพ๏ธโค๏ธ

Hello from Northside.

It was another dreary and grey Monday…

Good morning from Northside…

For dinner tonight, we had another one of the Kroger Prep+Pared Home Chef Express meals for dinner tonight. This one was Pork Medallions and Mushroom Cream with garlic Parmesan green beansโ€ฆ

And it was another delicious dinner. The pork medallions were so tender and I love anything with a mushroom sauce. And those Parmesan green beans were just dynamite. We really like the Kroger Prep+Pared Home Chef Express meal kits a lot.

Good evening from Northside…

And we played ball in our backyard until it started to get too dark…

We started watching Ratched on Netflix. And it started pouring…

So it ended up being the perfect night to Netflix & chill. It’s been so grey lately. At least it rained. Maybe it’ll get some of the grey out of it’s system and the sun will make an appearance again sometime soon. ๐Ÿ˜€๐ŸŒ„โ˜๏ธ๐ŸŒง๏ธ๐Ÿ“บโค๏ธ

None of your teams are playing today.

When I wake up every morning, the first thing I do is look at the weather. Then I doom scroll through the news emails (1440, CNN 5 Things, NYT Morning Briefing, & NPR Daily News) in my inbox really quick. Then I check the Sports 365 app to see what sports are going to be taking place later in the day. I use Sports 365 to help decide what I’m going to wear and if there will be anything interesting to watch later. I checked the app this morning and saw this…

That’s never happened before. Inside Sports 365, I tagged 42 teams and 11 competitions as favourites. Apparently, none of them were playing their respective sports today. Now I have no idea what I’m going to wear today and more importantly what I’m going to watch later. After Sports 365, the next app I look at is my Timehop. These photos were in my Timehop this morning…

And today was my 850th Timehop in a row

My 800th Timehop came when we were on our trip to Duck back in August.

And after all that, I can start my day. ๐Ÿ˜€๐ŸŒ„๐Ÿ“ฑโค๏ธ

Over 50 million views.

My photos on Google Maps/Local Guides just passed 50 million viewsโ€ฆ

Pretty neat. I keep working hard on my Google Maps contributions. And I just made it to level 9 local guide last week! Thanks for giving me another way to share my photos, Google! #LetsGuide ๐Ÿ˜€๐Ÿ—บ๏ธ๐Ÿ“ทโค๏ธ

Our new dehumidifier.

Good morning from Northside…

This afternoon we worked on reorganizing our basement…

Now we just need more shelves. And we finally got to turn on our new super industrial strength dehumidifier…

If we turned the dehumidifier in too soon, it could have pulled the moisture out the setting concrete and it wouldn’t have cured correctly…

And that would probably have been bad…

But omigosh, I was so excited to finally get to turn this thing on. And it drains straight into our new sump pump. It’s all so excited. We’re hoping the dehumidifier pulls all the moisture out of the air in our basement and eliminates that old musty basement smell. But we finally get to see how it works.

Later, we ventured out to West Chester, and we picked up Sonic for lunch…

We took our Sonic over and had lunch with Geri. Sonic was surprisingly good. We had cheeseburger meals. And Sonic also has corn dogs. I got a couple of corn dogs for a snack later. Gosh, I love corn dogs. And corn dongs can be surprisingly hard to find. The corn dogs from Sonic were really good.

Back in Northside, it’s starting to look a bit like autumn…

It was so gloomy, grey and overcast all day today…

And good evening from Northside…

This evening we planned to watch my Minnesota United play Dallas but the match was postponed due to positive tests for COVID-19. So we watched FC Cincinnati lose 1-0 to Toronto instead. FC|C is really tough to watch play anymore. It seems all they do is defend, eleven guys behind the ball and then park the bus. It makes for really boring soccer. And I’m really surprised they could pull over seven minutes of highlights out of this match.

But other than that, it was a pretty good Sunday. ๐Ÿ˜€๐ŸŒ„โ˜๏ธ๐Ÿ’ง๐Ÿ”๐ŸŸ๐Ÿƒโšฝ๏ธโค๏ธ

Taqueria 251.

A new taco shop just opened up in Northside called Taqueria 251. And this afternoon we walked down Hamilton Avenue to check it out the new place in the neighborhood…

I’m digging their murals…

Taqueria 251 was still waiting for their liquor license…

We sat out on their very spacious patio…

We started with some chips and salsa…

The trio of salsas came in these half-full little squeeze bottles…

We thought it was kind of an odd presentation. Especially in the middle of a pandemic. But the salsas were all pretty good. The green was the mild and the one on the right was really spicy. The middle one was my favorite. But they all had really good flavors.

We ordered the Esquite as an appetizer. The Esquite is sweet corn cut off the cob brought to the table in a cup served with a side of spicy mayo, cotija cheese, Mexican cream, tajin and lime. And it’s all mixed right at the table…

And as soon as our Esquite was prepared, our tacos arrived…

We ordered the Al Pastor, Papa and Chicharron…

We also ordered the Gringa with the cheese crust…

The tacos were just okay. They were really just meat on a tortilla. The meats were really flavorful but a little dry. The Gringa was good. I enjoyed the cheese crust. The Papa was my favorite because it actually had a crema and cotija cheese on it. The Esquite was so dang good. It was the best thing I’ve eaten in a minute. The flavors were just amazing.

We also ordered their churros because I love churros and they don’t show up on a lot of menus. So we almost had to order them…

The churros were amazing too. They were served with a side of nutella, goats milk candy, condensed milk and sugar and cinnamon blend…

The Esquite and the churros were out-of-this-world incredibly good. I would definitely stop back at Taqueira 251 just for those two items, and maybe a Papa taco. It was pretty tasty too.

It’s always fun when a new place opens up in our neighborhood. ๐Ÿ˜€๐Ÿ‡ฒ๐Ÿ‡ฝ๐ŸŒฎโค๏ธ

And the rest of our Saturday.

It was a grey and overcast Saturday morning in Northside…

Good morning from Northside…

We ran over to the grocery this morning…

They had both the panda bear and the train again today…

And they had lots of my new favorite BBQ Chicken flavor ramen…

There were some great balloons this morning too…

We stopped to get our Saturday morning Mad Llama coffee

We had this shelf in our kitchen…

Genifer ordered a new sideboard to go in its place…

It took a bit to put together but it turned out pretty nice…

It took too long for Oscar. He was out…

For lunch, we walked down Hamilton Avenue to check out Northside’s new taco shop called Taqueria 251. It was pretty good stuff. I don’t know that we’ll be rushing back. They had this corn appetizer called Esquite that was out of this world good. And they had incredible churros for dessert. I think we’ll still be satisfying our taco cravings at Django Western Taco. But I think our perfect meal would combine the best from the two places.

And good evening from Northside…

And from our backyard…

Before we headed upstairs, we stopped to admire our new sideboard…

It looks really nice in our kitchen. We like it a lot.

then we soldiered through The Reckoning on Netflix. It was just plain bad. There wasn’t one likable character in the entire series. So not good. At all. ๐Ÿ˜€๐ŸŒ„๐Ÿผ๐Ÿš‚๐ŸŽˆโ˜•๏ธโค๏ธ

Worlds Mental Health Day.

Today is Worlds Mental Health Day. I loved today’s Milk & Mocha Bear

I like the message of this one too from last year’s World Mental Health Day...

Be kind. Always. Those are great words to live by.

And don’t worry so much about things you can’t control. Same goes for silly work emails. I really love Milk & Mocha bear. ๐Ÿ˜€๐Ÿปโค๏ธ
