COVID-19 Carryout: Taft’s Brewpourium.

After working on our front yard this afternoon, we ran over to Taft’s Brewpourium to support one of Northside favorites…

On Saturdays and Sunday, Taft’s Brewpourium has a special for a large two-topping pizza and a growler for just $27

Our pizza and growler was ready and waiting for us…

Our growler was filler with one of our favorites, Taft’s Hazy Colada

We also picked up a six-pack of Taft’s new beer, Love in the Tub

It’s a peanut butter mocha pie stout. It was incredible! And proceeds went to Taft’s Team Relief Fund to help currently out of work employees…

Our large pepperoni and sausage pizza was incredible too…

And we ate the entire thing. The Brewpourium is one of our favorite places. And we’ve missed it so much. We’re going to have to get another New Haven style pizza again very, very soon. ๐Ÿ˜€๐Ÿ•๐Ÿปโค๏ธ

Exactly the same.

Have you noticed that every COVID-19 commercial is exactly the same?

I’m pretty tired of every company telling me that we’re living in “uncertain times”, but that “we’re here for you.” They then say their top priority is “people” and “families” by bringing their services to the “comfort and safety of your home.” And don’t forget: “we’re all in this together!” Together during these unprecedented times. Somber piano is having its moment in the spotlight. Now, more than ever. it’s here for you. And we’ll get through this. #Together.

And it’s all starting to get really annoying. ๐Ÿ˜ท๐Ÿฆ โค๏ธ

UPDATE: I saw this commercial last night…

It’s the best COVID-19 commercial I’ve seen so far. Other than this one from MNUFC…

Pure class.

Working from home: Day 27.

By my estimation, this is my 27th day working from home. I feel like I’ve really been hitting my stride, developing a really good rhythm and a great routine. And our little home office is becoming more and more functional every day….

It’s not too bad sitting here and working all day…

Not too bad at all. ๐Ÿ˜€๐Ÿก๐Ÿ’ปโค๏ธ

Guess who’s back?

Guess who’s back open after a brief COVID-19 hiatus? BIGGBY COFFEE! Genifer called Biggby and it turns out they reopened on Wednesday…

So this morning, we ran over to Madisonville to get some Biggby coffees…

We didn’t even need to look at the menu…

Genifer got a Caramel Marvel and I got the Cocoa Carmella with a bit of butterscotch…

Biggby Coffee is so delicious. We’re really happy that they’re back open. We haven’t had coffee from Biggby is almost a month. And that’s just too long. ๐Ÿ˜€โ˜•๏ธโค๏ธ

Pause for paws.

We took Mack back to the vet this morning to have the doctor look at his hurt paw. The doctor said everything looked good. They rewrapped it and sent us home with some more medicine for his paw. We get to remove the bandages from his paw on Tuesday.

When we got home, Mack was hanging out in the office with me while I was working and he was shivering so I covered him up with a blanket…

And he went right back to sleep without any shivers. I think he likes hanging out in the office with me. ๐Ÿ˜€๐Ÿพ๐Ÿ’คโค๏ธ

Line to enter starts here.

We ran over to Trader Joe’s this morning. We were pretty surprised to see that they were limiting the number of customers to 30 people in the store at a time…

The line wasn’t very long. There were only three or four people ahead of us. Once we got into Trader Joe’s, it was pretty much like having the store to ourselves…

On the way home, we stopped to get coffee from Mad Llama, and we were back home in time for my first meeting of the morning. ๐Ÿ˜€๐Ÿ›๏ธโ˜•๏ธโค๏ธ

As empty as the shelves.

We usually do all of our grocery shopping at Kroger. But the last time we were going to get groceries, we noticed there were a lot fewer cars in the Meijer parking lot than in the Kroger parking lot. So this morning, we ran over to Meijer to pick up a few things…

Meijer was surprisingly empty…

And so were the shelves in the paper products aisle. The shortage is still very real…

Thankfully, we’re still good on all our paper products and toiletries. But we were really surprised by just how few people were at Meijer. It was practically just us and these adorable little turtles…

But at least we were able to get a few more things. ๐Ÿ˜€๐Ÿงป๐Ÿขโค๏ธ

Today was a good day.

We got coffee from Sidewinder this morning and they spelled my name with two D’s…

Grey gave us the afternoon off for Easter weekend. Thanks, Grey!

This afternoon, we ran over to Genifer’s office to pickup a laptop. And on the way home, we stopped to get Skyline carry-out for lunch…

Hello, delicious cheese coneys…

Ohmigosh. We haven’t had Skyline in forever! It was sooo good. And later this evening, we ran down the street to Northside Yacht Club

We picked up some Miller High Life’s and some of NSYC’s famous peanut tequila…

Cheers to the weekend! We wished we would have had the peanut butter tequila for last weekend’s Front Porch Pours. We just hung out, had some drinks and listened to music tonight. It was a good day. ๐Ÿ˜€โ˜•๏ธ๐Ÿง€๐ŸŒญ๐Ÿป๐ŸŽถ๐Ÿค—โค๏ธ

We survived another week of shelter-in-place. Four weeks down.

Conference Call Bingo.

Someone in the Grey New York office put together this conference call bingo sheet…

It’s funny because it’s true. ๐Ÿ˜€๐Ÿ’ปโค๏ธ

Two each per customer.

We ran over to the grocery this morning. And we were pleasantly surprised by our trip today. They really restocked since the last time we went about a week ago. And they had these signs all over the store…

There werenโ€™t nearly as many empty shelves as there were last time. And it wasnโ€™t too busy. But there were still a surprising number of people at the grocery at 8am on a Friday morning. And we saw these Hostess Baseball Cupcakes….

Day Game and Night Game cupcakes. We should have got some cupcakes.

There were a lot of check-out lanes open this morning. And they alternated lanes so it was one open, one closed. They also added a bunch of floor stickers to show six feet for social distancing at check-out.

And a LOT of people were wearing masks and latex gloves. Some people were wearing bandanas and the elbow-length gloves used to wash dishes. And that was the oddest thing about our trip.

Other than that, it was a pretty normal trip to Kroger. ๐Ÿ˜€๐Ÿ›๏ธโค๏ธ
