USMNT v. Venezuela.

This afternoon our United States Men’s National Team was playing host to Venezuela at Nippert Stadium as a warm-up to the upcoming Gold Cup…

We should have known what was in store for us when the USMNT starting lineup was announced. No Christian Pulisic. No Michael Bradley. We didn’t even recognize half of the names in the starting eleven. But it’s the USMNT, right? In Cincinnati. At Nippert…

And here was the best part. The team’s walkout and Sam the Bald Eagle and our National Anthem with the National Team in Cincinnati…

The USMNT had a couple of good chances at the beginning of the match…

Then it pretty much went downhill from there really fast…

The USMNT was down 3-0 after just 36 minutes…

And that’s how the match would end 3-0 to Venezuela

If you really wanted to thank your fans, you wouldn’t play a complete B team that mailed in their performance.

It’s stupid hard not to be ridiculously disappointed with both this team selection, the performance and the outcome of this match. I was really looking forward to seeing the USMNT in person. There were a lot of people who paid a lot of money to watch this team for the first time at Nippert Stadium and this happens. Not us, we just had general admission tickets. But now we’ve seen the National Team and I don’t know that we’ll ever need to see them again.

After the match, we went to Mac’s for a pizza…

And we saw this…

And it’s funny because it’s true. What a disappointing afternoon. At least the pizza was really good.ย ๐Ÿ˜€๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธโšฝ๏ธ๐Ÿ‡ป๐Ÿ‡ชโค๏ธ

Wodka Bar+Pins Rooftop Patio.

This afternoon we ventured down into Over-the-Rhine to check out the new Wodka Bar on Main Street with our friends, Chris and Tayler…

Wodka Bar is almost exclusively all craft vodka. We all shared a vodka flight…

Genifer also tried a pickle martini…

I tried their take on a White Russian called Russian Collusion. I would have ordered it just for the name alone…

It was really good but not as good as my favorite White Russian in all of Cincinnati over at Northside Distilling Company. We also shared some potato pierogis…

The pierogis were simply amazing. I was really digging the Eastern European artwork in the bathrooms…

And the ornate Sistine Chapel-esque ceiling in the bathroom as well…

Wodka Bar is a pretty neat place. From there, we walked down Main Street back to Pins Mechanical to check out their rooftop patio…

We played some rooftop patio giant Jenga…

And we played some rooftop patio Bocce ball…

Pins had this awesome fruit punch and Sprite mocktail that was delicious…

It was another really fun afternoon in OtR. ๐Ÿ˜€๐Ÿธโค๏ธ

Sam Adams Taproom+The Italian Truck.

On the way home tonight, we stopped at the Sam Adams Taproom in Over-the-Rhine…

We shared one of Sam Adams famous and delicious giant pretzels…

But we didn’t realize The Italian Truck was out on Sam Adams patio…

We had to give them a try. We don’t get to try food trucks like we used to. So who knows when we’d get another chance. We ordered a Meatball Burrito, which was very good…

And Mozzarella Sticks because who doesn’t love Mozzarella Sticks?

And we took home a couple of cannoli for later…

It was all really good stuff. Speaking of stuffed, we definitely were.

And look at that gorgeous sky…

Dang. So pretty. It was a very tasty Friday evening! ๐Ÿ˜€๐Ÿบ๐Ÿฅจ๐Ÿ‡ฎ๐Ÿ‡นโค๏ธ

Thursdays are for sharing Whip burgers.

We really like sharing a Whip Classic and fries at QCR on Thursdays. ๐Ÿ˜€๐Ÿ”๐ŸŸโค๏ธ

71,000 check-ins!

I just hit 71,000 check-ins on my Swarmโ€ฆ

I stillย reallyย love my check-ins on Swarm!ย ๐Ÿ˜€โญ๏ธโค๏ธ

Northside Wednesday.

After work tonight, we stopped to check out the Northside Farmers Market

We hadn’t been to the Farmers Market yet this summer. After checking it out, we crossed the street to have a slice ofย Chameleon pizza and some spicy cheese balls…

Chameleon cheese pizza is soooo good.

It was a pretty good Northside Wednesday. ๐Ÿ˜€๐Ÿ•๐Ÿง€โค๏ธ

Good evening from Northside.

I just love all the trees and greenery and rolling hills we see when we’re up on top of the hill at the end of our street…

It’s very pretty on top of the hill. ๐Ÿ˜€๐ŸŒณโค๏ธ

Tuesday Steak Night at Galla Park.

Down in The Banks where Crave used to be is now a place called Galla Park. Tonight after work, we stopped at Galla Park. Because tonight was the very first Galla Park Tuesday Steak Night…ย

We each enjoyed an amazingly delicious 14oz. Prime New York Strip of certified angus beef, fried garlic & herb redskin potatoes and a Caesar salad for just $19!

And Genifer enjoyed a delicious craft cocktail for only $5 but I forgot to take a photo of it.ย  I wish every Tuesday could be this delicious.ย ๐Ÿ˜€๐Ÿฅฉ๐Ÿฅ—๐Ÿฅƒโค๏ธ

Pause for paws.

๐Ÿ˜€๐Ÿพโค๏ธ

We mowed our grass too.

The grass in our front yard was getting a bit unruly…

It always looks so nice afterward…

Home sweet home.ย ๐Ÿ˜€๐Ÿ˜๏ธโค๏ธ
