It was another really delicious meal. Chicken and rice bowls are terrific. And we love anything with tzatziki sauce. We like the Kroger Prep+Pared Home Chef Express meal kits a lot.
A lot of my favorite basketball teams aren’t playing because of COVID-19. Just tonight, Wichita State, Michigan and Grizzlies all had games postponed…
Thank goodness they haven’t paused all the games and we could watch some other games tonight. ๐๐โ๏ธ๐จ๏ธโ๏ธ๐๐บโค๏ธ
And then we got down to business and knocked out all our work…
Tonight, we watched Snowpiercer on Netflix. We’re pretty late to the game on this one but it’s one of those Dystopian future society movies. We watched it. It was bad. So bad that three days later, we’re still talking about the plot holes in this movie, why they decided to save humanity from another Ice Age with a train that circumnavigates the globe and why that is quite possibly the dumbest way to save mankind. There was talk about putting together a Powerpoint presentation on just why it was so bad just in case this movie ever came up in conversation. I don’t know who we would be talking to, but we’d be ready just in case. ๐๐โ๏ธ๐บโค๏ธ
Also, come to find out Snowpiercer is a mini-series on TNT starring Sean Bean and Jennifer Connelly? My only question is… Whyyy?! I think we’re going to give that one a hard pass.
You could tell it was Monday because it was so grey and overcast outside.
Good morning from Northside…
And it was still very overcast this evening…
In fact, it looked nearly identical to this morning…
And good evening from Northside…
We went and picked up some Wendy’s for a gloomy Monday treat for dinner…
Genifer had a spicy chicken sammich. I ordered a Baconator. But we ended up with two spicy chicken sammiches somehow. And that was kind of a bummer because I was looking forward to my burger. But the chicken was good too. And the third bag was full of chicken nuggets, if you were wondering.
I don’t remember exactly what we watched this evening. But I know we watched a handful of movies on Amazon Prime Video recently. We’ve watched Hangman, Widows Point, Death of a Vloggerand 47 Hours to Live, not necessarily in that order. They were all pretty bad. Prime Video is the home of bad movies. There have been a few good ones over the years, but they’re mostly really bad. Death of a Vlogger made just jump a few times. But there are only so many movies on Netflix and with a handful of our sports teams having their season put on pause, desperate times call for desperate measures. ๐๐โ๏ธ๐๐๐๐บโค๏ธ
After Arsenal was knocked out of the FA Cup at the hands of Southampton this afternoon, we went over to Taft’s Brewpourium for a late lunch to get some pizza…
Genifer tried Taft’s hard seltzer and it was really good…
And soon as we started the the show, Mack snuck off to hang out down in our studio office on his dog bed…
He sleep down there a lot. As I was getting ready for bed, I stopped to admire the view out of our third-floor bathroom window that looks out over our backyard…
I like the views we have around of little neighborhood. It was another good day. But any day that involves an NYPD pizza party is a pretty good day. ๐๐โ๏ธ๐๐พโค๏ธ
Today, we remember the legacy of a great man. We honor The Reverend Dr. Martin Luther King Jr… a man who dared to dream while standing fearlessly in the face of adversity. We celebrate the man who taught us to dream while still loving others…

We both had the day off work today for the holiday. It was a cold and snowy day…
Good morning from Northside…
Genifer made cheesy buffalo chicken pasta with garlic bread for lunch…
Good evening from Northside…
I realized when we got to the stairs at the top of the hill at the end of our street that I had forgotten my little fisheye Moment lens…
Today, we watched Arsenal beat Newcastle 3-0. And we watched the MLK Day NBA games especially the Grizzlies win over the Suns. I like the Griz. I think they have the best logo in the NBA. It was a very nice day off. And another very low-key, relaxing day. ๐๐โ๏ธ๐ฅ๐โฝ๏ธ๐โค๏ธ
We ventured out to try something new this afternoon, Agave & Rye in Rookwood…
We started with some chips and guacamole…
Genifer loves guacamole…
And it was really good at Agave & Rye. We also started with the elotte…
And we each had an epic taco. Genifer had The Buddha: teriyaki 5-spice tofu, sticky rice, baby corn, water chestnuts, cilantro, green onion, carrots, red bell pepper, Shiitake mushrooms, crispy wontons, sweet thai chili sauce…
I love ground beef tacos. And they’re kind of hard to find out. Agave & Rye had two on their menu. So this time I ordered The Cousin of Vinnie: seasoned ground beef, tomato-vodka sauce, mac n cheese, white cheddar, tobacco onions and queso cushion in between the two taco shells…
Next time, I’ll try the other ground beef taco. Their tacos were amazing and huge. And they had a bunch of interesting sounding tacos on their menu.
Everything we ordered was delicious…
Agave & Rye had a whole bunch of arcade game that would have been fun to play…
But we’re still in the middle of a pandemic and I didn’t want to touch anything…
Agave & Rye was incredible. Everything was delicious. Their tacos were huuuuge. And we left so stuffed. I think we just found our new favorite taco shop now that Django Western Taco has moved out of Northside.
When we got home, we took the dogs out around the block…
And it was still cold…
Good evening from Northside…
We ended up taking a nap. And later, we watched the NFL playoff games…
I was happy to see Tom Brady win. I was sad to see Drew Brees lose. And I thought the refs jobbed the Browns. How did they miss this helmet-to-helmet hit? Most likely, it cost the Browns a touchdown and they would end up losing by 5 points. Next weekend, I’ll be cheering for Brady and the Bills. Because nothing would be worse than a State Farm Superb Owl with Aaron Rodgers and Patrick Mahomes. I don’t really care for either of them very much.
But anyway, we had a really great day with some epic tacos! ๐๐โ๏ธ๐ฎ๐พ๐โค๏ธ
We had a Kroger flatbread pizza for lunch with Caesar salad. It was really good. Somehow, I didn’t take a photo of it. I don’t remember what we had for dinner.
Skyline is so good. Genifer had a deluxe burrito. I had a 5-way and two cheese coneys while I finished up my work for the week. And then it was overcast again when we went on our evening week…
Good evening from Northside…
We shared our Cinnabon cheesecake we got with our lunch…
Then we headed upstairs for the night and we finished Collateral: Limited Series on Netflix. ๐๐๐ง๐ญ๐๐บโค๏ธ
