Lunch from Morsel & Nosh.

Good morning from Northside…

This afternoon we walked over to Morsel & Nosh for lunch…

Genifer ordered the tuna melt…

And I ordered The Violet. It was delicious house-made chicken salad with lettuce on a soft and flaky croissant..

And I added a slice of American cheese. Whenever possible, I always add a slice of cheese. Cheese makes the best stuff even better. They were terrific sammiches. We can’t wait to go back to Morsel & Nosh for lunch again very soon.

Good evening from Northside…

Our HelloFresh meal tonight was Sheet Pan Turkey-Meatball Flatbreads with mozzarella, bellpepper and onions…

Their flatbreads are some of my favorite meals.

This evening we put this little pet memorial for Svensk under our tree in our side yard next to our pet memorial for Milan…

I miss the kitty so much. I think about her every day. 😀🌄🥪🥐🍽️🐱👼❤️

#JJVECincy2021 Sunday.

Our morning started off with knocking around the soccer ball in our backyard…

And we took the dogs on their morning walk…

Violette and Edgerton took turns walking Captain Oskey…

Good morning from Northside…

We walked to Sidewinder to get breakfast and coffees…

And we walked Up Hamilton Avenue to eat our breakfast at Jergen’s Park..

And we got to play at another playground…

After playing in the park, we walked home through Parker Woods…

After a bit, we headed down into Over-the-Rhine…

We parked at Washington Park and walked to Taft’s Ale House for lunch…

Lunch was delicious. We walked back down to Washington Park…

So the kids could play in the fountains…

And they got to play on the playgrounds…

Then we walked over to get rolled ice cream…

The ice cream was delicious! Thanks Simply Rolled!

We had a really great time down in OtR…

On our way back to Northside, we drove by the new soccer stadium in the West End…

When we got home, we took the dogs around the block. Violette and Edgerton took turns walking Captain Oskey again…

Good eveinng from Northside…

Violette wanted to rake the stones in our backyard…

We fired up the grill and made some burgers and hot dogs…

When we were at Taft’s Ale House, Surf’s Up was coming on one of the TVs in the bar. The kids became enamored with the movie. So this evening, we watched it in our backyard…

It was a pretty good movie. The kids really seemed to like it.

It was another really wonderful day with JJVE. We had the most amazing Sunday. It was the best day again. 😀🌄🏡😍🥰❤️

Hello from Northside…

The clouds were looking a bit on the dark side this morning…

Good morning from Northside…

This morning Oscar was given the nickname Captain Oskey. And Mack was dubbed Cowboy Mac ‘n Cheese. Mostly because the kids thought Mack’s spots make him look like a little cow.

We headed out to start our big fun Saturday with JJVE. We had to duck under some awnings for cover from rain showers twice once we were on our way. And then the sun was out…

We walked to Bonomini Bakery to get donuts for breakfast…

Food & Wine recently named Bonomini The Best Doughnut in Ohio…

We ate our donuts over at Hoffner Park…

But we were still hungry so we had lunch at Taqueria 251…

Their esquite is pretty incredible…

And their chilaquiles rojos were really good…

After lunch, we walked over to Urban Artifact…

When we got home, all of us took the dogs around the block…

We stopped at the playgrounds up at the school on the top of the hill…

Good evening from Northside…

We played some hybrid soccer in our backyard, made a bunch of drawlings and had an NYPD Pizza party…

We discovered Rollino Lattes…

And we played a bunch of Uno…

It was a big day. The kids wore Mack out…

We had the most amazing Saturday. It was the best day. 😀🌄🏡😍🥰❤️

More special deliveries.

We ran over to Lowe’s this morning. And when we got to Lowe’s, it started pouring down rain…

Like torrential downpour rain…

Believe it or not, we needed more stones. But this time, we got more river peebles…

And when we were on our way to our car, still raining…

And we stopped for more Mad Llama coffee…

I had forgotten how many llamas were inside Mad Llama…

Mmmm… Java whip…

When we got home, the rain had let up and we took the dogs on their walk…

Good morning from Northside…

So grey…

We were expecting another special delivery…

Later in the afternoon, the sun decided to make an appearance…

Good evening from Northside…

To celebrate the sun coming out, we walked to NYPD to pick up a pizza party…

And we hung out in our backyard…

Part of our special delivery were these flamingo lawn ornaments…

And since it was a bit cool from the rain, we made our first fire pit…

And another of special deliveries was this projector for our back patio…

The screen from our projector arrives tomorrow.

We’re starting to really love our backyard. 😀🌄🏡🌨️🍕🦩🔥📺🏀❤️

Just a low-key Monday.

We both had today off work…

Good morning from Northside…

We ran over to the grocery this morning…

I always like to check out the different balloons…

And then it was time for coffee…

Later, we had sausages and pasta salad for lunch…

We got some NYPD calzones for dinner…

It had been a minute since we had NYPD calzones. They were so good. We both ate our entire calzone. And then we hung out in our backyard for a bit…

It was a pretty nice, very low-key Monday. 😀🌄🎈🌭🍽️❤️

Happy Father’s Day!

Happy Father’s Day to all the dad out there…

Good morning from Northside…

Today was the first day of summer. And there wasn’t any rain in the forecast today so we got to work on our backyard…

We dumped 15 bags of pea gravel and 15 bags of river rocks and 15 drainage rocks in our backyard this afternoon…

I think we’re going to need a lot more rocks.

We got cleaned up and headed over to Taft’s Brewpourium for lunch…

Today, Taft’s had a specialty cheesesteak pizza for Father’s Day…

And it was delicious! Everything they do is amazing.

Good evening from Northside…

Two of the best words in all of sports… GAME. SEVEN.

We’re so happy with how our backyard is progressing. And any day that involved Taft’s pizza is a really good day. This was a really good Sunday. 😀🌄🏡🍕🐾❤️

A Sunday pizza party!!

Our front yard is still looks pretty nice…

Good morning from Northside…

We went over to Taft’s Brewpourium for a Sun day pizza party…

We shared a house salad and a white pizza with chicken, cherry tomatoes and arugula…

Their special item today was mozzarella sticks…

Ohmigosh. Taft’s is so good. It’s one of our favorites…

And it was a beautiful Sunday evening so we hung out on our back patiio for a bit…

We can’t wait to keep working on our backyard. It’s going to be so awesome…

We had a really good Sunday.

BLTs & more work on our yard.

It was kind of hazy this morning…

Good morning from Northside…

We ran over to Lowe’s this morning…

We stopped for coffee…

We added some landscape edging and decorative rock border to our front yard…

When we were finishing up in our front yard, a guy jogging by stopped to ask where we got our bricks. After chatting for a minute and as he started to walk away, he said, “Yeah, I gotta work on my front yard and try to get it up to this level.” It was such a nice thing to say. And it made us feel so proud of our front yard…

Hopefully, we van get our backyard up to the level of our front yard. We pulled all the grass and weeds out of the front third of our backyard…

I tried to dig out an old concrete post anchor next to our backyard path…

And that was clearly a mistake. I put it back in it’s hole and filled the hole back in…

Our next step will be adding rocks…

We went upstairs to take some showers. Hi Oscar…

We had BLTs for dinner….

BLTs with wedge fries…

Good evening from Northside…

Our front yard looks so nice…

We sat out on our back patio for a bit…

We watched the Louisville City thump Memphis 3-0 and listened to some music…

We had a really good Saturday. 😀🌄🏡🐾🥪❤️

Already three times this year.

As we were getting up and moving this morning, there was a loud pop that we could hear over our sound machine and then we lost power.

Oh. And it’s still grey and overcast…

Good morning from Northside…

On our way home from our walk, Duke Energy was already arriving on our street…

They had our power back on a little before 9 am. But I think this was already the third time we’ve lost power this year. And that’s a little worrisome. The Duke Energy website said there was an animal on the line. Poor squirrels.

Anyway, we have a lot of blooms in our front yard…

We had cheesy turkey wraps on the panini press for lunch …

The panini press has become one of my favorite little kitchen appliances.

After we finished our work day, we went on our walk and the sun was out!

Good evening from Northside…

We ordered El Taco Veloz through DoorDash…

Genifer gets the kids quesadilla with a side of beans and rice…

And I love their ground beef chimi…

El Taco Veloz is sooo good. I love that there is a service that will bring me a chimichanga whenever I really need one. What an amazingly wonderful world we live in.

If you look really close just above the leaf in the dirt, there was a little baby bird in the back corner of our backyard…

I don’t think the little bird had mastered flying yet, it would flap it’s wing but wouldn’t go anywhere. Eventually, it hopped through a gap in our fence where the side meets the back. Hopefully, it figures out how to fly pretty soon.

When we got upstairs, I was looking out our front window and I got the impression that tonight’s sunset might be really pretty…

I went back down to check it out in our backyard…

But it was just an okay sunset. But it was a really good day. We watched a couple more episodes of Lisey’s Story on Apple TV. And I’m super excited because the Euro Championship starts tomorrrow afternoon! 😀🌄🏡🇲🇽🫔❤️
